  1. I wonder what Qs ERA is with each catcher. Seems like Smith calls a lot of curveballs last night, and they were getting crushed
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2017 -> 10:38 PM) Cool. At least you admit Fulmer may be a bust. Yeah, but if you are looking at this logically, the risk of the draft is what "should" prevent teams from tanking and fans wanting their team to lose. The obvious pick might be a huge bust. In the meantime the joy of winning can not be denied. Look at this season, what if you are a 7th grader Sox fan. You are watching the game with your dad and all excited, but dad inexplicably gets mad and says, "Dammit we need to lose this game!" "Why dad?" "Cause we need the best draft pick possible during this rebuild, son! Don't you get it??" There was literally zero logic in all of this. This was "i am a fan and I want them to win" with zero context
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2017 -> 10:13 PM) Do you agree Fulmer has been trash this season in terms of his stuff? I'm really surprised a guy as smart as you thinks it's OK to root for losses. I mean the reward from rooting for losses is a .... better draft pick. Pedro Alvarez ... Mike Trout are calling you on this one. You keep saying Pedro Alvarez and Mike Trout like they are ultimate trump cards in this argument you keep dragging out. A draft is tricky for any team, any sport. Players improve at different rates, they regress, some of them plateau. That doesn't mean you completely discount draft position and say "who f***ing cares where we pick? I might get a Mike Trout anywhere." Some players like Bonds and Harper and Griffey actually live up to the billing where they are drafted and made their teams contenders. Fulmer might be a bust he might figure it out and be a mainstay in the rotation. Nobody knows what he is yet
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2017 -> 09:57 PM) You know who our manager was, right? You know who was managing the White Sox 10 years ago, right?
  5. Lol it kind of does make him right, it's his creation
  6. Fantastic weeks and who provides them
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 30, 2017 -> 02:13 PM) He says JIF, like the peanut butter. That is the correct pronunciation, according to the guy who created GIFs. He came on the score last year with Goff and Spiegel and set them straight http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/22/tech/web/pronounce-gif/
  8. Apparently the POTUS official twitter account has grown by 5 million followers in the last three days, mostly bots. Seems sketchy

Evan Longoria and Wil Myers have both been pretty successful with high batting stances. That Jose Bautista guy too
  11. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 29, 2017 -> 09:17 AM) Greg what on earth are white privilege gangs? He thinks some crazy white privelege gang invaded the university of Missouri library and threatened people, despite multiple Soxtalk posters who attend and have attended the university telling him otherwise But Rush

I just wanted to make this post because Bill Melton just called Anthony Swarzak "Swarznick" and it made me laugh Good win! Fun game after Danish got the jitters out!
  16. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 27, 2017 -> 12:06 PM) As I pointed out a week ago, you're approaching Wile E Coyote territory with your "gotcha" posts, so keep trying. you haven't found one yet, but not for lack of trying. Follow Dick - he's better at it than you - he actually finds posts where I whiffed (Kahnle, e.g.). I freely admit, as any non-redboarder should - there are many. Wile e coyote, heroes, you are so clever. Keep on professing, professor
  17. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 27, 2017 -> 11:44 AM) Of course you do. You can't get enough of them. And when did Eaton ever need to get better? He was a hit from the start. The only thing I didn't like about him was he clowned a bit much for my tastes. Yea, I suggested trading him, but not because he was a bad player. You have to give something to get something - that's one of my revolutionary ideas. I fawned over the Davidson trade, not Davidson. I'm no scout. I don't know if these prospects are good or bad; I just go by the rankings, and if you trade a replaceable reliever for a top prospect, that's a good thing. Lol, don't flatter yourself. I don't respond to you as much as I could, you just get a little more hurt when I point out your contradictions
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 27, 2017 -> 11:48 AM) Eaton wasn't as good as his numbers was the line you constantly used. And in his "down" year, he also wanted to trade him because he would not get any better
  19. I would love to see some of these posts where you are complimenting Hahn for his trades. All I ever see if "We all know they are questionable in evaluating talent, especially veterans".....in pretty much every post you make as if we don't know how you feel. Although at least you don't say heros all the time. Baby steps
  20. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 27, 2017 -> 10:19 AM) The rebuilding process. You have to bring somebody up, Ahab. As much as you pine on my posts, I'm sure you realize that I've consistently given Hahn credit for the Reed-Davidson, well before Davidson's breakout. I must have missed all of the fawning over Davidson while you were complaining about Adam Eaton and saying that he would never get any better I don't pine over your posts, you are contradictory and irritating. Do you think you know more than GM's in the game, and you say it all the time while touting your Ideas as if they are revolutionary. More Saladino amirite
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 27, 2017 -> 07:35 AM) Warriors have won the last 27 games they had all of their top 4 in the line up. The only thing stopping this season and probably next season from being over assuming Curry stays, is their health. And if Stephen A Smith picks them to win
  22. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 27, 2017 -> 08:31 AM) Agree (although "great" may be a stretch). We already are seeing fruits....if not Hahn's, of someone's labor or good fortune. It's getting on 2 months (and a sample size is building), and Avi has been great (including emerging from a mini-slump), Davidson has been quietly consistent as heck, and Leury and perhaps Yolmer are useful players who would be productive on a 25. On the pitching side, Kahnle and maybe even Beck look like keepers. In toto, this rebuilding club has as the best run differential in the division. JFC, always a backhand compliment about Hahn. Who else would get the credit?
