2014-2015 NBA thread
This team compliments each other. Just like Butler said last night, it is not just one guy, they all work as a team. Gasol started off hot and passed the baton when Houston started coming at him. Butler pretty much stopped Hardens game with that block. I just love how he walked away from him like "whatever. thats what i do"

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 6, 2015 -> 10:32 AM) JR Smith is under contract for next year, so you can see why Knicks bit. They have ... 1 player under contract next year? The hilarious, needless deal they gave smith that came along with the provision that they signed his brother for no reason and keep him on the roster

I'm not going to go all soxfest and complain that the Bears are going to continue on their losing ways like they did in the last 12 years, because in reality while Lovies tenure never got a super bowl trophy he did have a pretty successful run with a few pretty competitive teams. But I am pissed that they barely interviewed anyone. I was expecting Ballard after a charade of candidates coming through, not him being offered before anyone else gets talked to. That's total bulls***. You have to interview many people because sometimes you will be surprised and find a candidate you didn't expect. I have heard that Toub is head coach material though, he is very well respected around the league

Opening Day '15 - Blackout?
QUOTE (My_Sox_Summer @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 05:02 PM) While at a New Years Eve party with fellow Sox fans, the idea was tossed out for doing a blackout for opening day / home opener. Thoughts? I think it would make a unity statement, for the fans and the team. Send something to Brooks Boyer and see what he says

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 02:18 PM) There seems to be a lot of commentary praising George for committing himself to learning the business the last two years. I have to say I'm disturbed by that. Do you mean to tell me that you are part of the 5 or so families in North America who operate an NFL football franchise and have refused to get actual presidents to run the thing, and in all that time, despite access to learn, you did not bother? What the hell! There is so much we dont know about George before he assumed control though. What if he was working for another company and just assumed that his brother was going to continue to run the business? It wasnt like it was a planned move, from all accounts people expected Mike to handle it until he went full boob and botched a coach hire.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 01:15 PM) Jeez. If the Bears have already pretty much told him the job is his why are they doing this song and pony dance? Why do the Bears have to be so predictably inept? Why am I asking these questions? What am I going to eat for lunch today? I am guessing you will have chili

Would you have done things different?
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 01:03 PM) If the Detroit Tigers who play in a much smaller market can feature a $163 million payroll, then there is no way I can accept the fact that a $150 million payroll is not "realistic" for the "Chicago" White Sox. No way! yea, its all the same. every team should treat it as such.

has anyone gotten 100 percent completion on GTA and gone to the mountain to see the UFO? IGN has a big breakdown on the theories, its pretty cool to see the developer throw in a mystery like that. It seems like they are waiting to install DLC that is going to bring a lot more of the story out.

(Insert Celeb Here) is Dead
Seeing his career in retrospect, it is really crazy seeing his last couple years how much weight he had lost. I knew he was down from all of his issues, but it was startling seeing his earlier work and comparing him to how he looked at his ESPY speech.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 10:57 AM) Is it? I didn't know. Ugh, i just checked and it is a 8 episode series, not a self contained mini series. I also am not too confident that they can keep it up.
