QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 01:38 PM) He needs to be a role model to the NFL. Also the fact he was "cleared" of rape charges is what makes this stupid and why he was suspended. I suppose the girl that brought the allegations thought it was a really cute scene by ole Jameis. Tell me something, when he has his team interviews at the combine, do you think they are going to be concerned about this, or the Rape and Theft issues? Because I highly doubt they care about a videobomb prank that teenagers and college students pull. You guys can be outraged all you want, its your choice. Im not a hand waver, i dont yell about PC america and the wussification of society and rant about how all of our freedoms are taken away because of liberals blah blah. I simply feel like this is looking for something to get upset about, and he was dumb enough to say something and open the door a crack. -

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 01:41 PM) Not really, the idea of marketing is getting a person folks like, to promote your product. Kind of like how Barry Bonds is not promoting Under Armour. The guy was the poster child for that brand and made it into what it is today. Tiger Woods promotes Nike/Gatorade/etc to this day. He is absolutely a poster child for the Golf branch of Nike, and when all the drugs and affairs and everything hit, they removed a lot of his advertising and distanced themselves from him. the story faded, and he came right back to BAU. AP is a superstar in the NFL, I dont think Nike lets that go -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 01:00 PM) But it's after his whole proverbial I've settled down and learned my lesson, I have to be a better leader/set a better example. He's not a kid, this is not a 9 year old. It's not even close to his other actions, but just shows he's an idiot, and doesn't learn anything. OMG A COLLEGE STUDENT SAID SOMETHING IGNORANT. I CANTS BELIEVES IT. This is seriously just looking for stuff to complain about. This is almost as bad as TMZ following Manziel around frat houses looking for him to do something stupid. The only example Winston has to set is to his teammates on the field, he isnt a role model -

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) With the fact the guy actually was under investigation for rape and probably should have gotten convicted for it, this is a slap in the face to a good number of people. Not to mention the timing of it. This guy is bigger douche than Johnny Football and I did not think that was possible. He is a douche, no doubt, but he didnt commit a crime, he didnt break a law. This is just dumb kid stuff. The rape and theft stuff is perfectly fine to get upset about, but i cant get upset about what he said in front of his friends on campus. -

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 12:35 PM) Did anyone see their statement? It sure is good to know Nike cares so much about the well-being of children... When I posted this, i heard on the Score that the contract was terminated, but on twitter i am reading "suspended". So, when all blows over and suspensions are served and fines levied, the contract will go back to normal i am thinking -

so let me get this straight, he just stood up on a table and yelled this? He didnt video bomb anyone with it, or say it on camera in the background? He just randomly yelled it for attention? -
crazy to think that Jeter spent the first 18 years of his baseball career making the playoffs all but once, and the last two he will have no appearances

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 08:34 AM) I heard a good point mentioned this morning. Adrian Peterson and Ray McDonald cases are different in how they relate to "due process". Adrian Peterson admitted to what he did. He is just denying that what he did was criminal. The NFL doesn't really need to wait for due process. Based on his admissions, they can judge that his actions warrant disciplinary action regardless of whether or not they are determined to be criminal. Ray McDonald is denying what he is accused of. His case really does need to have due process play out, unless some kind of video evidence surfaces beforehand. http://www.tmz.com/2014/09/10/floyd-maywea...3Da7s3U6y"" target="_blank">as Mayweather said If you didnt get caught on tape, it probably didnt happen -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 07:52 AM) I guess money trumps winning. Once Bud & Nike opened their mouths, it was over. Why do you say this as if it is somewhat surprising? Money always talks the loudest, and usually a lot louder when it runs parallel with morality(or perceived morality) -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 10:34 PM) Such a smooth stroke against righties. Reminiscent of Wade Boggs. Beautiful triple. That's Crow pitching isn't it? KC fans will blame Ned. No, it's Wade Davis. He was the right choice

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 12:24 PM) Huh? He made up that quote. I didn't say that. I was referring to your actual quote QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 14, 2014 -> 08:18 AM) No Alshon or Marshall tonight. Hello, 0-2 and awful Sunday Night Football game. Which, at the time looked very likely, and even with Alshon and Brandon, up until the 4th quarter still looked very likely. On a side note, I wonder if SOXOBAMA is ok -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 05:49 PM) He was suspended for 2 games. Now he's been released from his team and indefinitely suspended. If you think the two actions are really that similar in matters of degree, well, I'm simply going to have to disagree with you there. I know the vast majority of fans are sitting here thinking, how incredibly stupid could the league be? But in my opinion it is just a tad more complex than you guys are recognizing. I didn't say they were similar punishments at all, I merely pointed out that the NFL did actually take action against Ray Rice with no charges filed, whereas now they are hiding behind due process for Hardy and AP and McDonald. And I never said the second punishments for rice were the correct courses of action, I think it was a massive and incorrect overcorrection after they had the video rubbed in their noses. I understand I am not a lawyer like you shack, but I can see there are differences. It just seems to me that the NFL is creating hypocrisies on the situations presented, one after another after another. At some point daddy Goodell has to step in and get a handle on this s***
