QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 03:43 PM) I had one I had to put down at 8 years old because of dementia and one that is now 11 and going strong. It's such a crapshoot, however you are NEVER ready to say goodbye. Parvo took my first basset hound when she was 9 months. I was 7 years old, one day i came home and she was gone. My dad told me when i was older that he came home before we got home from school and she was in severe distress, and when they got her to the vet they said she had no chance. It really sucks because they cant tell you what is going on, and stuff sneaks up on them and you have no idea until you are at the vet at 3 AM

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 01:55 PM) All of this stuff is really tempering my enthusiasm for getting a pet. I'm getting emotional just reading about your pets I don't know if I can handle seeing one of my own go after losing my childhood pets Its a tough thing to deal with. But i feel like i am giving them a good life in their shorter-than-my-time, and it is worth it.
  3. Bradys problem is he is a statue. Give the guy a little time and he will pick you apart, but he isnt Rodgers. He isnt gonna slide out and make a play on the run. Now that the destruction of his massive O Line has begun, Brady has been forcing it, and his WR corps is just not acceptable compared to what we are used to.
  4. QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 09:22 AM) Why wouldn't you? Smash is in the Trash Talk Hall of Fame. They've been very smart in marketing this game. The little tourney at E3, the simultaneous 3DS release, the character videos. The fanbase is in a lather. i am just not much of a fighting game guy, not really my thing. translated: I really suck at them and I dont like to lose
  5. QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 09:11 AM) To this day Melee might be my favorite game of all time. I don't own a Wii U but if Smash can't get me to buy one, nothing can. well this game is supposed to be awesome, and they have a gamecube extension port and started selling new cube controllers again. SSB is one game i never really got into, but i will watch my buddies throw down
  6. The thing about both the going to the knees on a slide and the prayer.....Brandon Marshall pretty much does both every time he scores.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 09:03 AM) Smash Bros 4 comes out on Thursday. So pumped. 51 characters. crazy that they went gamecube retro with it. Its cool that they respect the following that Melee got, though
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 10:03 PM) "Excessive" celebration. There is already rumblings that he was penalized for praying, even though Reid thinks it was for the slide on the knees. Abdullah's agent tweeted that they better not fine him for praying
  9. Ok, i think we have established that the greg grading system is a mystery befitting of the Illuminati, and will probably never fully be explained. So lets issue our own grades and stop beating our heads into brick walls trying to figure it out
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 06:00 AM) Molitor will be the choice. Book it. As far as the next White Sox manager, I want Jeff Bannister. He just missed on the Astros' job to AJ Hinch. I watched him for a whole season with the Augusta GreenJackets when we won the South Atlantic League championship in 1995, and he's a fair but strict disciplinarian (military background) who was able to keep Jose Guillen in check that season. I can guarantee we wouldn't be seeing any of the same mistakes in terms of baserunning and fielding we've consistently been seeing out of the White Sox the past two seasons. http://m.astros.mlb.com/news/article/97006...-get-astros-job They are going to hire Molitor after they just fired him?

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 01:35 PM) Once Upon a Time's incorporation of Frozen completely bombed last night. It was horrible. well, that show has been pretty terrible for a while. So i am not surprised
  12. This guy went from being transferred to HAWAII TO WORK, to looking at a possible 20 years in jail. And he failed at his suicide attempt. Hope that stuff you smoked before you lit the place on fire was good stuff, dude
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 01:04 PM) Yeha. Even when I looked back at the first pick, I will tip the cap to Packers DB who did a nice job on Morgan, although 100 times out of 100 Jay needs to not make that throw, although I know you usually throw the slant off a presnap read and they liked what they saw (and typically with a slant you have little time to adjust, it is a pretty immediate throw I believe based upon how the defense is playing). The other pick though, total bummer, cause if he does run the right route, you are looking at another potential big play. Still, wouldn't have mattered with way D played. Fact that we ran the ball is huge and should open up some things going forward. We still make a lot of little mistakes that we can't overcome, especially given our defense and special teams. Against above average offenses, our offense is going to have to be perfect which is pretty difficult. I still think Jay had 3 TD passes in 1st half and to be frank should have had a 4th. Should have thrown the ball a little lower to Alshon and often times Alshon still comes down with the throw he did make. Either way, that was one you really would like back, same for that series where we shotgunned it on the 1 yard line on 1st down and had the penalty (might be same series). That was brutal in general Interestingly enough, Trestman said that was called a run play and they changed to a pass because they had a defense they felt was better. The DB made a good play to break it up. A really disappointing thing about yesterday is the offense really was humming along until Bennett couldnt break the plane.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 12:49 PM) Kyle, Trestman clearly stated that Marshall ran the wrong route on the pick. I don't know if Trestman was sending a message or what. Cutler played more of the, miscommunication, general comment on both him and B, but Trestman was pretty evident and he rarely is. That said, B and Jay tend to mix things up from time to time and I wonder how much of this has to do with B missing practice, etc. Yea I saw his comments this morning. When it happened, i was pretty bent out of shape because that was the game. I really am wondering how Marshall responds to being called out by Trestman, its been a pretty crazy season for Marshall emotionally.
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) Seth Smith just signed an extension with San Diego. I think he's safe for at least a year. Pretty sure we have said that many times to Caulfield, he just refuses to accept it. He is caulfields white squier stratocaster guitar. He will be mine, oh yes, he will be mine.
  16. hey everyone, Houston didnt sign Aiken. 2nd pick. FYI
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 10:59 AM) To the poster that said something about Bostic, he has actually been playing some damn good football this season. He has been very effective in the run game, filling his gaps and filling them with authority and driving his offenders back so other players can fill make the play. Pass defense, every young player can improve in, but overall, Bostic has done a good job this season. He has been good this season, but none of the LBs were good yesterday. The entire defense was bad, which was why i just laugh that any of them could have graded out positively.
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 08:49 AM) Performances of note yesterday per PFF: Top O: Martellus Bennett (+6.4 overall, +4.0 pass) Michael Ola (+5.2 overall, +3.5 run block) Eben Britton (+1.8 overall, +1.6 run block) Worst O: Jay Cutler (-2.2 overall, -3.4 pass) Alshon Jeffery (-1.6 overall, -1.2 rushing) Brandon Marshall (-1.0 overall, -1.5 pass) Alshon's rushing grade is a little bit of a head scratcher. I don't actually remember his rushes, but maybe I've just blocked it all out. Top D: Jon Bostic (+2.7 overall, +1.9 run defense) Lance Briggs (+2.2 overall, +2.4 run defense) Worst D: Chris Conte (-2.7 overall, -3.0 pass coverage) LaMarr Houston (-2.6 overall, -2.5 pass rush) Stephen Paea (-1.3 overall, -0.9 pass rush) Season leaders: Best O: Brian De La Puente (+7.4 overall, +5.6 run block) Martellus Bennett (+7.1 overall, +6.2 pass) Michael Ola Kyle Long Jermon Bushrod Worst O: Jordan Mills (-5.0 overall, -3.2 pass block) Jay Cutler (-3.2 overall, -5.0 pass) Santonio Holmes (-2.6 overall, -2.4 pass) Top D: Jay Ratliff (+5.3 overall, +3.7 run D) Kyle Fuller (+4.9 overall, +4.6 pass coverage) Jon Bostic (+3.1 overall, +3.0 run D) Worst D: DJ Williams (-4.9 overall, -2.1 run D) Chris Conte (-2.7 overall, -1.8 run D) Ego Ferguson (-2.6 overall, -1.0 run D) Isaiah Frey (-2.3 overall, -2.9 pass coverage) Positional notables around the league: Top QB: Rodgers Top WR: Jordy Nelson Top RB: DeMarco Murray Top TE: Larry Donnell (4. Martellus Bennett) Top OT: William Beatty (LT) Joe Barksdale (RT) Top OG: Michael Yanda (6. Michael Ola 8. Kyle Long) Top C: Nick Mangold (2. Brian De La Puente) Top 4-3 DE: Cameron Wake Top 4-3 OLB: Jelani Jenkins Top 3-4 DE: JJ Watt (he consistently gets scores so absurd that it makes all players look worthless by comparison) Top 3-4 OLB: Terrell Suggs (5. Julius Peppers) Top DT/NT: Kyle Williams (Buffalo) Top ILB: Donta Hightower (12. Manti Te'o) Top CB: Brandon Flowers (6. Kyle Fuller T22. Richard Sherman) Top S: Antoine Bethea everytime you post this stuff, it makes me feel like these numbers are total bulls***. Bostic and Briggs graded positively? Alshon negatively? I read that Bostic, Briggs and Williams got a combined 9 tackles yesterday. Its like they watch a different game and apply grades however they want And i dont mean that as a shot against you Jake, I just dont get what they are seeing
  19. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 06:12 AM) Hey Greg, I like the idea of this but the only problem I have is a comparison of judging / evaluation. I mean what are the parameters of the judging. I can see a lot of personal judgment grades. if I didn't explain myself, sorry. but this thread is a good idea. All of the grades are personal judgements, the only parameter is what you feel about the player.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2014 -> 06:04 PM) What's interesting so far here is that the Falcons seem to have been much more effective at it in the first than the Bears ever were. It's not that interesting, 95 percent of his career he was under offensive genius Lovie Smith.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 28, 2014 -> 05:47 PM) I guess all of us who thought Hester was done were a little off. I just think he didn't have a part in the Bears offense. Atlanta has been great about running gimmick plays to get him involved, and involving him heavily as a WR. The Bears just didn't have the time for that anymore
  22. @patrickfinley: Aaron Rodgers' 151.2 passer rating is the second highest of anyone EVER vs #Bears (min 15 atts). Niners' John Brodie was 152.1 in '65
  23. Rodgers attacked Fuller today. They said they wouldn't and they absolutely did
