obviously it's something to discuss, but when you think about it, this whole thing is laughable. The state will significantly help build a new park, while they have another a short distance away in perfectly fine condition?

Or Jerry Reinsdolrf is going to spend a billion or two of his own money building the park? C'mon. man.

Unless Jerry has decided to pass on the team to Michael, it really doesn’t make sense.  It it not likely that Jerry will be around to see the team play at another location in the city and doesn’t make sense that he would be all in on it

Ha, oh man this hoge and jahns with the Seattle beat writer. Basically states all the good things in seattle were because of Pete and the players and all the bad things were Waldron.

Parkins and Spiegel had Dave “Softy” Mahler on today and he said a lot of the same stuff, he said that Waldron is very boring in his playcalling and hasn’t made anyone better.  Very reassuring

The sad reality of going with and retaining Eberflus is they will never have a consistent offense.  In order to do so they would need to go with a guy with no HC potetnial.  The OC version of Fangio.  If the OC gets a HC coach job simialr to Gase he could take staff with him and then the Bears are back at square one.  A spot where they do not thrive.

    I really like Waldron.

If he is poached then it was a good season, probably a great season if we are being honest.

it’s the nature of the nfl right now

Supposedly this guy did get Geno and Wilson to get rid of the ball quicker.

For me I am happy they hired a guy who has done the job before, and aren’t hiring a assistant somewhere and hoping he figures it out.

to Harry Chappas point, if he is poached after a good offensive season then that is the price of poker right now, and it means the Bears had a good season.

Because I am a man of the people and I am hiding in this thread because the white sox are too painful

    Dane Bruglers mock is out.

The painful? AFter the bears take Caleb Williams 1.1, Marvin Harrison, Malik Nabers, Brock Bowers and Rome Odunze go 3, 4, 5, 6.

He has the bears taking Dallas Turner at 9. I think this will be a popular pick in mock drafters. I personally believe there is zero chance it happens at 9.

If this is the board, either we take Fashanu/Alt (Fashanu is available in this case), or we trade back and get more capital. I don't see much of a difference between Turner/Latu/Verse in draft grades. I'd rather take Fashanu or trade back and take Brian Thomas (he is taken 17th).

Other things of note: Jer'Zhan newton goes 28th, so he may be not the top ten rumor people had of him.

Penix went 44th, McCarthy top 20.

    Ladd McConkey went mid-2nd.

Personally, I'd be ok if we somehow got a 2nd, found that Tee Higgins became available, and drafted McConkey.

Having 2 vet wideouts with a route master like McConkey as a slot would be perfect for a vet QB.

Or his 4th year was seriously impacted by him playing very hurt.  Not sure what to make of his time in Carolina - it was short lived and obviously not good.  But Baker's 1st and 3rd years were pretty good. He's an interesting example of a #1 overall pick who didn't get a ton of runway.  Just look up his stats vs. Trevor Lawrence's first 3 years.  Just looked - i forgot how good Lawrence was last year - he really regressed with turnovers in year 3 (2nd year in same system).

Lawrence ankle was wrecked over the last four games and his play reflected it.  To me Baker is what he is, a middle of the road guy who can get you where he is right now in the right situation or a guy who throws as many TDs as interceptions and you keep thinking he is going to take the next step some day because this season he popped out of nowhere.  If he all the sudden becomes the truth in Tampa, by all means I can admit that I was wrong, I’m just not ready to say that right now

Acquiring bodies to fill a team. Reminds me of a company softball team adding guys at a late date.

If only this was a company softball league, then I would think we might win a few games

The speculation about the severity of Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield’s injured shoulder just amped up to another level. FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reports that Mayfield has a fractured humerus bone in his left arm in addition to the torn labrum on the left (non-throwing) shoulder.

👍 he throws the ball to the other team a lot and always has.  If you think he is about to become the man, more power to you.  I think he had a good season and likely will fall back to his normal self next season

Cleveland giving up on Mayfield one year early for Watson an all-time bonehead decision…chose Stefanski over their QB and judged him largely on a season he was never close to 100% health-wise but gutted it out.  Watson just sat the bench in similar circumstances Baker would have tried to battle through for his teammates..

That’s a bit revisionist, Cleveland had every right to bail with how he played(choosing Watson is a completely different conversation).  This is a nice comeback year for Baker but it does not seem to be consistent with his career

I shared the experience of others asking for examples of a collapse this strong before...and what I found funny was responses of just how many similar examples there were that I completely forgot. Boy...did I not really remember the cardinals being 10-1 and finishing 11-6 and losing first round. Turns out it was...3 years ago ha.

Last season they finished so sharp, they were just scoring at will and the defense was swarming.  This season every time I saw highlights in the last 6 games all I saw was Hurts looking unsure of himself and the defense getting lit up
