QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 18, 2014 -> 10:36 AM) My main problem with the movie is we only got to see Godzilla in action for like 5 minutes and even the fight seems weren't very compelling. But if you are going to make a giant monster movie that doesn't really feature the monster you really need to have non-awful human characters and it would be nice if something of interest happened before the final 15 minutes. It was the "Jaws" approach, hide the monster until the very end. The movie was inspired by the 1954 Godzilla movie where you really don't see him until towards the end as well. I was a bit let down that we didn't really see anything happen but I get it. The tsunami and power outage were awesome

Mel Tucker on the defense, Jared Allen, things to expect http://my.chicagotribune.com/#section/-1/a...e/p2p-80232446/ -
I hope Eaton can remain in one piece for the rest of the season, but hamstrings always seem to linger

Godzilla did Godzilla things , that's all I asked for. They tried to add a compelling human story, but that ended when . All in all, the fight scenes were more than enough to make me forget about Aaron Taylor Johnsons non-moving non-emotional face Also, I saw Fast 6 last night on HBO. The final scene on the runway, that had to be at least a 50 mile runway, right? Lol

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2014 -> 09:42 PM) So we gave Herm the benefit of the doubt and things kept getting worse. So you won't make that clear mistake again right? Still not seeing where I said it wouldn't happen, nor am I seeing where I would be happy about this. Hey if you say so, Balta, I guess it must be. Herm certainly doesn't have like 40 years of being one of the best in the business at keeping players healthy in his back pocket, right? But because you, Balta1701 saw it on tv and probably read a medical journal once, it makes you infallible and completely correct. Did you stay at a Holiday Inn express last night?
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2014 -> 09:34 PM) We actually watched him do what you said couldn't happen today. We watched him make it worse. Congrats, you win. Oh did I say that? Do tell. While we are on the making things up tour, you said that De Aza would be a great player and I am now mad at you for it

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2014 -> 09:28 PM) We actually watched on TV as Abreu got worse to the point he had to be removed from the game. You guys think this is great. I disagree. I think the White Sox are better when Jose Abreu is not seriously injured. You disagree. You better make sure all these straw men stay away from matches, you might burn yourself

Fire the coaching staff, they know nothing about modern medicine

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2014 -> 06:52 PM) Or the medical staff was wrong. Whatever it was, he should have sat yesterday and maybe sat today and whoever disagreed with me just asked for it to get worse, because hey, it got worse. But hey, how dare anyone question the manager! He knows how things are behind the scenes and you can trust him when he says guys won't make things worse and have to have themselves pulled from the game after inning 5 when you play them when they should be sitting. I'm sure that extra 24 hours would have solved everything. Oh wait, how dare I question doctor Balta? Please tell me exactly how long this would have taken before he would be completely healed from a preexisting issue, doctor?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2014 -> 03:11 PM) Didn't he hurt it getting slid into in the Cubs series? And it's still an issue a few days later? It was bugging him in spring training, I am pretty sure this is a lingering issue dating back to Cuba

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 17, 2014 -> 02:48 PM) This is just about as bad as losing Westbrook last year. Sucks for Thunder. They need to hope that Parker stays equally injured
-
The thing is, we don't even know what his injury is. Is it bone(spur?), tendon, muscle? We have no idea, and are just guessing. Now, Mark Parent did say that he would sit Wednesday with the day off Thursday, but obviously something changed. I wish nothing was said though because it did nothing but create second guesses. Let's also not discount the fact that Herm Schneider is one of the best in the business and he of this entire staff deserves the benefit of the doubt.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2014 -> 02:45 PM) GMAB. Only 1 player in MLB has more games played than Jose Abreu and none of the other guys that have played that many are rookies. Please, tell me some more about how the Sox have failed at spring training fundamentals. Can't wait to hear some more. Also while we are at it, let's just go ahead and map out an infallible play chart and mail it in to Robin.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2014 -> 02:35 PM) So you never, ever suggest that you think a GM or manager is doing something wrong in any of your posts and you believe you should just trust them? Lets not confuse occasionally criticizing decisions with having an obvious agenda. In no way do I think Robin is perfect, but you would find a way to criticize a decision robin made if the Sox won the World Series 15-0 on a sale no hitter and 4 Abreu home runs
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2014 -> 02:28 PM) If you're going to fall back on the "you don't know what's happening in the clubhouse" thing then the only reasonable way to evaluate a manager is based on what's on the field, and last year's team was worse than eating cheerios soaked in urine. As opposed to falling back on backseat driving, to which I would say enjoy your breakfast
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2014 -> 02:12 PM) So you're saying he's had 6 more offdays than Jose Abreu so far? I mean come on, I'll give Robin credit for not benching him way too often like I thought he would once Konerko was signed, but why does everything have to be the extreme? We have 2 other guys being paid who can play 1b/DH on this roster and the guy carrying the team who has never played 100 games in a season doesn't even get a day off when he actually gets hurt. Why is it so hard to have just a little bit of balance and put him on pace for 150 games instead of 162? What I'm saying is honestly you have no idea what you are talking about and you have no idea what happens within that clubhouse, yet you sit here and act like you do. These men are professionals, all of them. Don't pretend to give Robin credit, all you do is act like he peed in your Cheerios last season and you can't get over it.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2014 -> 01:21 PM) I know, I mean, the White Sox have played 43 games and Jose Abreu has only started 42 of them! He had a day where he only was a pinch hitter! He's had like 3 extra at-bats off! That's not extreme in the least. Can you believe that the tigers have played 37 games and Miguel Cabrera has played in ALL 37 OF THEM??!! The horror!! Fire ausmus he is new and doesn't know what he is doing and he disregards everything everyone tells him including the trainer, and let's Cabrera do whatever he wants. And Cabrera has had so many leg and ankle problems. People need to stand up and take notice of these travesties

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 17, 2014 -> 12:58 PM) I honestly believe his excuse. (And that's rare for me) So I read he got busted for the same thing that Manny got busted for, Clomid, which is a female fertility drug, and also what steroid users take when they are cycling down. I don't really buy it because there is no reason he should be taking a female fertility drug. And the NFL isn't buying his excuse either http://www.indystar.com/story/colts-inside...stance/9210225/ -
