  1. Nowhere near as weird as that Podsednik HR.
  2. I would argue that Podsednik's triple last night was also clutch. However, he has choked repeatedly in RBI situations, postseason not excluded. He fouled out right before Iguchi's homer off David Wells, for instance. Its not necessarily his fault; he's not designed to drive in runs, so to speak.
  3. Scott Podsednik hit a walkoff homer and this is what you want to talk about? Go work for FOX.
  4. Holy ****. Konerko? Against some random bullpen guy? Yeah, come on, its not too hard to envision a homer there. Its not like Konerko hasn't hit a few of those in both the regular and the post season. Its not like he hasn't been one of our big RBI guys. But Podsednik? Off BRAD LIDGE? To CENTER FIELD? If anyone says they saw that coming, they're lying.
  5. Now THAT was the biggest Home Run in White Sox history.
  6. Better Brad Lidge now than Brad Lidge with an Astros lead, I guess. Our bullpen is going to have a tough time bridging the gap, though. Tonight may be when the rust finally gets to us.
  7. Might wanna rethink that. (Though I'd have bet on Jenks too...I was preparing to post "A winner is you!")
  8. What exactly happened to spark the controversey? Help us Gameday guys out.
  9. Hell yeah, we got that Taveras kid out. Finally.
  10. Alright, Clifford, make the home run meaningful. No giving back the lead.
  11. I don't know his career stats, but I can tell you that he once gave up 7 runs in the first inning against the Yankees on a rainy day, back in 2004. It was free poncho night, appropriately enough.
  12. Its perhaps odd to have a "must-win" game with a 1-0 lead, but I think this is precisely that kind of game. Even the posters here who are usually a tad overoptimistic are admitting that Oswalt will be a huge pain. For Houston to come out of Game 3 with a 2-1 lead and 2 more games at home would be, to say the very least, highly undesirable. The weight of the world is on Buehrle. That won't effect him one bit. But the cold weather and the Houston bats might.
  13. Do I think that Houston has much better pitching than us? Yes. Do I think that, plus 3 games without the DH, gives them a big advantage? Yes, yes I do. Does that mean I don't cheer for the Sox? Hell no. Does that mean that I don't go to the first World Series game on the South Side since 1959, does that mean I don't take what may be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the fall classic at my home park? Even bigger Hell No. Anyway, this thread isn't about me. I just felt I needed to say that.
  14. When they ask who they think will win, we get 290 Electoral Votes, with Colorado, Conneciticut, New York, and a few other states tied. Interestingly enough the popular vote for that went to the Astros.
  15. I paid the college tuitution of some scalper's kid to get into that game. Was well worth it. Sucked that I had to be standing in line at the concession stand when Crede hit it out, though.
  16. Apparently they were giving them out at Daley Plaza. Also note:
  17. When we first won the ALCS, my thoughts were "I don't care what happens now, I'm just happy to be here." More and more, however, I feel I will be seriously let down if they can't win 4 games against Houston. Not sure why that's happening; the more I think about it, the more I think Houston will roll over us.
