NSA logging all domestic calls
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 14, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) The world is a nasty place full of people who would do us all manner of harm if given half a chance. Its becomming painfully clear in the last couple of years that Americans increasingly dont have the balls to deal with a protracted fight against terrorism. They want to be fat and lazy, drive their gas-guzzling SUV's and pretend everything is peachy and then they want to b**** and whine about everything under the sun when things dont go their way. They want to cry when the price of gas goes up or file a lawsuit because eating too much McDonalds made them obese or complain that their jobs are going overseas when they demand benefits out of any proportion to the menial work they're doing. The war against Islamo-fascism is only just starting. This movement is an order of magnitude more dangerous than the Soviet threat ever was and it is coming of age at a time when Americans are getting much softer and pussified. If we lose the war against terrorism it wont be because we are fighting the wrong battles, it'll be because of a bunch of gutless cowards here at home who can't stomach doing what needs to be done to keep America safe. Losing our civil liberties is what makes us the losers in this fight.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 13, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) Nice to see our own fans turn on our players so quickly, especially after what Jon did last season. He played a good half of a season and had 1 good post season game.

So I guess any day now the Tigers are supposed to fade away like many of you have mentioned. I'm not seeing it.

NSA logging all domestic calls
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) That would be a valid argument if myself and the others on this board were on record back in 1994 as opposing these types of measures. You and the other 29% of Americans must be proud of this administration.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 14, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) Yeah, you could say that. But their numbers arent that far off, and to say he didnt show up isnt right. PK is the power hitter in the cleanup spot, his numbers are supposed to be like that. Arow was the number 7 hitter, and his numbers really arent that far off. Im not trying to say PK had a bad postseason, because he didnt by any stretch. Just like saying Arow didnt show up is wrong. The guy had a really bad braincramp on the bases, and it was shown multiple times. But how many other baserunning blunders did he have? I cant remember that many. Defend his post season play all you want but I honestly cannot remember 1 play he made in the entire postseason that was memorable. Oh wait scratch that...he did have a cool look of disbelief on Pods' walkoff.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 14, 2006 -> 09:31 AM) There isnt anything wrong with admiring an ex-player from afar. This looks like a deal where everyone ends up happy. I'll give you that he may be better than average but I remember a guy who was a no-show in the post season, making all kinds of baserunning blunders. Guess I'm puzzled by the 20 threads that have been started for him.

Crash Breaks Nose
Have I missed something here? Are we in last place and wondering why we traded away a 10-time batting title champ and gold glover? He was an OK player that played with a lot of grit but get over it. He's gone. Our team is way better after the trade we made with him.

White Sox @ Twins Game Thread
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 13, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) I'll say this right now.... Twins make it to the playoffs within the immediate future--with a healthy Santana and Liriano in the rotation--they're winning a World Series. Those two possibly pitching three times between them in a 7 game series will be tough to overcome. Not to mention the other coming out of the bullpen in a pivotal game 7, ala Randy Johnson. You don't win World Series because of 2 guys. You need a great team.
