Sox Item of the Day
QUOTE(Sox1422 @ May 11, 2006 -> 11:16 AM) That's one hell of a way to get people's attention. What were they selling? Look at the ratio of bids to views.

Do WORRY about our Closer
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 11, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) Go look at his walks/innings pitched numbers and see how they correlate with his ERA. Touche

Do WORRY about our Closer
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 11, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) You do not simply "Figure out" a 97 mph plus fastball if it's thrown for strikes. You just can't. See Kyle Farnsworth

WCIU
I still don't understand why the Sox and Cubs would have a contract with a crappy UHF station. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

CANCELLED: Angels vs. White Sox
QUOTE(sti3 @ May 11, 2006 -> 09:04 AM) I do not blame Kelvim. I blame the umps for differentially warning and not ejecting players. I really do not belong in your club. Screw you Sox hater.

Interesting Google data
Sox vs Cubs search trends A friend sent me the link above. Has a breakdown of searches on google for the Sox and Cubs. There's an obvious spike during 4th quarter of 2005 for the Sox but surprisingly the Cubs still get more searches in 2006. Also shows search breakdown by cities (Chicago and Naperville highest Sox searches), regions, and languages. I predict the gap to close by the end of this year as the Sox conitnue to kick ass while the Cubs struggle to stay in 4th place.

I guess I was very wrong about Cleveland this year. They are not very good.

Tribe blowing a 3 run lead to the Royals. Now 3-2 bottom of the 4th with a man on 3rd for KC...no outs. Check that...3-3.

Sox vs Angels Game Thread
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 10, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) IMO, this game is could go two ways. 1.Charlie makes LAA look like idiots, and its incredibly fun to watch... or..... 2.This game is more frustrating and worse than Cotts in the Bronx... If he struggles I would think Ozzie would bring in McCarthy rather quickly. He probably wouldn't leave the rookie out to dry.

A great outing by Heager will throw off their timing for tomorrow's game as well.

Charlie Haeger to likely start Wednesday
I just hope this possible setback doesn't affect the way Jose pitches. He has been unstoppable. Even doughboy John Kruk said last night that Jose's the best pitcher in the AL right now. I'd say in the majors but what do I know?

Crede For A Gold Glove?
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2006 -> 08:33 AM) I think the trip to the World Series, and Joe's preformance on the national stage are going to go a long way towards his winning a Gold Glove either this year or next. The politics of this are BS, but Joe seems to be putting together the "other" prerequisites that seem to be necesary to win the GG. I really believe this is his year as long as the Sox keep winning. I really hope your right. The pace he's on is ridiculous, both at the plate and on the field.

Crede For A Gold Glove?
As long as A-Rod is putting up 40+ HRs a year and Chavez is right behind him, Crede will wind up no better than 3rd in the GG race.

Great. Just what what the Angels needed to break out of their slump. Our 2 worst starters and a minor leaguer.
