QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 01:45 PM) Rios benched tonight for Lillibridge! Excellent news! Maybe a trade is in the works.

Can someone tell me why I should care about this case? How many kids get killed on a daily basis here in Chicago?
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 01:39 PM) I think FlySox should quote some comedians instead of survey's that way it holds more weight. Which surveys from comedians are you referring to?

Alex Rios would look handsome in a Braves uniform. He somewhat resembles Dave Justice.

My favorite movie of the year so far is Win Win.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 11:53 AM) Quentin-for-Beachy? Would the Braves do that? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/chicago_white_sox/index.html There's a thread on this subject already.

Is there any way to dump Rios and get Rasmus?

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) I'll continue to give AB's to the guy that plays the best CF defense on the squad That's arguable right now. I think Lillibridge would play better out there although Rios has the potential to be the best defender. But that's just it. He's all potential and whatever decent defense he gives us is negated by the incredibly awful offensive numbers he is putting up. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 10:54 AM) This idea of relying on De Aza and Lillibridge as platoon everyday starters for the White Sox in CF is a bad idea. Neither guy, imo, is good enough to be productive over a large, extended sample size. And to be frank, we are trying to win a division and this isn't the type of move that helps you win the division. In terms of getting Rasmus, I can't imagine the Cards would be interested in moving him and if they were to move him, my guess is it would be pretty pricey. Continuing to give Rios 4 or 5 ABs per game isn't going to help us win a division either. -

Oh jeez. Pick and choose whatever you want to make your lame case. We all know that an equally appalling list can me made with examples from the conservative side.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 09:07 AM) Shut up with your unpatriotic, vegan, liberal phones. Racist!

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 08:59 AM) That may never come out in the US due to the recent injunction filed by Apple, and if/when it does, it'll be old by Android standards. There have already been rumors circulating on a Galaxy S II Plus coming here with beefed up specs.

Xylophone used in that song or am I in need of a hearing aid?

Happy birthday Ed!!!

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 08:46 AM) I'm weary of Samsung devices, they're usually designed well (now, anyway), but they have a history of little to no support. When the next device from Samsung comes out (which in the Android world is about 2 months), forget about them ever looking back at previous models...they also have a history of non updates or very slow to market updates. That said, if you get an Android, you'll probably want to root/hack it...which is what I dislike about the entire Android model. Non hacked Android devices are crap, and paying hundreds of dollars for something you have to hack to make good is just something I have no interest in. The Galaxy S II is ridiculous out of the box. No hacking required. I'm waiting for that one to come stateside for my next upgrade. Oh and they announced at the Google I/O that all carriers will be required to continue updating phones for at least 18 months upon release. We'll see how that plays out though.

Can someone please give me an actual reason why Greg Walker is still our hitting coach? And spare me the "Hitting coaches have no impact" line. And if he's so important to Paulie we can keep him as Paulie's personal hitting coach, not unlike what Frank did with Walt Hriniak.

QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 11:08 PM) Do you ever make actual arguments? What exactly is the purpose of creating a thread like this? What meaningful discussion will come out of it? You're basically labeling all liberals as unAmerican and unpatriotic. Ok. Great. We get it. You despise liberals. You've made that perfectly clear in the very brief time you've spent in this forum. I have to go now to create a thread about how conservatives are mostly bigots, racists, and homophobes and link one study that was done on the subject. I expect some deep, meaningful discussion to arise from it. Oh and speaking of factual statements, you've thrown out a lot of 'factual statements' in this forum that seem a heck of a lot like your own opinions when describing liberals. And is 'liberals being unpatriotic' supposed to be a fact? Why because of this one study? What about the countless studies about climate change? Those don't count as facts but this one study proves that liberals are unpatriotic and/or unAmerican. LOL. Keep dishing us the facts! You're like the conservative Colbert.

This thread is the perfect example of trolling.

QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) Don't want your kids to vote Republican? Don't celebrate the 4th. Interesting study. Along with most people, I've always held that the GOP is the party of patriotism. It shows in the ideology of 95% of the military, it shows in our belief in American exceptionalism, and personally I think our belief in small government and free market enterprise is more in line with the beliefs of our Founding Fathers. But it's still interesting to see a study that backs it up empirically. Although I'd hate to think that leftist parents will see this and stop celebrating what little they do of the 4th in order to drive their children closer towards a lifetime of Democratic votes. You know, lunatic parents like Kathy Witterick and David Stocker. (I know they're Canadian, but it's still loony liberal parenting.) All that said, I should probably stop talking since I've spent my fourth almost entirely on my couch. If I could only be as patriotic as the GOP candidate from Texas that wanted to secede. He loves America so much he wanted his entire state to leave it. God bless him. Now that's exceptionalism!

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) Along with most people, I've always held that the GOP is the party of patriotism. And I've always held that this is an empty bulls*** fallacy that is pretty insulting to a lot of people, myself included
