  1. BTW, can Dunn be exempt from the new hyperbole rule until he resembles, at the very least, a AAA ball player?
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) I hear it's in Scottsdale, right? Hmm....you may be right about that.
  3. Maybe Paulie can arrange for Dunn to be kidnapped. He can hide him somewhere in his 16K sq ft mansion in Arizona.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 12:27 PM) Jas, I thought about it and researched the cost of living, the area their office is located in, the surrounding communities, etc., and the cost of living is so great in and around LA that I would have to get a tremendous raise in order to actually increase my disposable income by taking the position and moving there. Housing costs are more than double, probably closer to 2.5 times generally what they are in Vegas. The home I just offered on, if the bank accepts my offer, I will pay about $83.5/sq ft. Prices around LA for similar homes are probably actually in the $500k range, so you're talking something like $270/sq ft. I tried to find areas far enough outside the area where homes were cheaper, but the problem you encounter then is traffic. You start looking at 3 hour round trip commutes at that point, and that just destroys the entire point for me. I am all about maintaining/increasing my quality of life, regardless of whether my salary is 5 figures or 6, and so I figure if I can get in on a home at this price in our market here in LV, it's worth it, regardless of the gaudy salary figures a California utility is willing to pay me. We think alike.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) That's why the whole team hated Mark Buehrle from 2001-2007 or so as well. No one could stand that guy. I've never seen a guy hated so much by his clubhouse. If only he didn't tell them how his offseason routine was to shut down completely, maybe things would have been different. I get your point but doing absolutely nothing in the offseason while playing for a new league may have hindered Dunn's effectiveness this season. Instead of bragging about not picking up a bat since last season ended I would have loved to have heard him tell us how he worked extra hard this past offseason, studied film of the AL Central pitching staffs, and instituted a workout routine for the 1st time in his life.
  6. Awesome Mark. Good luck! EDIT: And now I definitely have a place to crash in Vegas.
  7. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 09:20 AM) Wow, so a president can't feel sympathetic that a person is in bad shape financially, especially when there are children involved? It's not like he gave her money, he wrote them a personal letter. What a bastard. Im sure President Obama would have b**** slapped any soldier that wrote him a sympathetic letter. And it's a weakness to shake the president's hand, yup. I don't care if your liberal, conservative, or whatever, meeting the President (of any political party) is an honor. You may not agree with him (hell that's part of being an American), but that doesn't mean you should be embarassed by shaking hands with him. That is shallow. Yeah no s***. And he/she would have personally set the letter on fire? That shows off a high level of intelligence....throwing out $11K out of spite.
  8. I see a 2nd member was added.....Happy Birthday Mr Long one to left!
  9. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) And yet, you KNOW it won't happen. Grrrrrrrr Nothing will happen. Nothing ever does. It's like the parents went away for the weekend, the kids are having a party doing whatever the f*** they want, and the parents just decided to never come back.
  10. Where's the accountability JR? $125M+ payroll and look at the crap we trot out there everyday.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:27 PM) It's what happens when you hit 6 singles. We have 2 doubles.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) Leaving way too many runners on base this season. fixed
  13. One run on 7 hits. Gotta love the efficiency of this offense.
  14. Juan having a nice day at the plate. Enjoy it while you can.
  15. I will give credit to Ozzie for putting Morel at the #2 spot in the lineup this week. I think it's working.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 07:57 PM) Viciedo broke a 1-1 tie today with a 3 run jack... *sigh* Is getting a title in AAA more important to this organization? Even when we win our offense looks terrible. I can't recall a more blatantly obvious opportunity to bring up a guy from the minors.
  17. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:58 PM) BTW, Juan Pierre's OPS is now under .600. It's just a little slump. Give him some more time....like 3 more months.
  18. QUOTE (soxsider11 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:57 PM) ...and pierre rests those reliable legs of his for the inevitable start he gets tomorrow What else are they going to do? It's not like they could just plug someone else into his spot.
