  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 27, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) Here we go... http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/05/27/gil...-championships/ Yeah I heard that interview this morning. Will definitely be interesting to see how things shake out this post season.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 27, 2011 -> 12:14 PM) First one? Our first. I have a daughter from a previous relationship.
  3. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 27, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) It's all well and good to talk about next year, but this labor situation will NOT be pretty and I am almost 100% sure we'll miss games next year. Thanks Debbie Downer.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 27, 2011 -> 10:55 AM) everyone should bring a taco bell 12 pack to a party. Its the cool thing to do Nothing like going to a party where everyone has explosive diarrhea.
  5. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 27, 2011 -> 10:50 AM) None. It's the same thing as 2007, the Lakers will add pieces long before they move him. *sigh* I guess I can dream. Maybe a miraculous trade gets worked out with Howard.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ May 26, 2011 -> 09:34 PM) WTF. Didn't know Piper's Alley was closing. Tonight is the last night. Went there a few times. Got to see Blair Witch, State & Main, and Memento there before they went wide. Damn. I didn't realize they were closing.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 27, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) And you have no idea how it is circular to say that Humber is our best starter so we can't send him to the pen, but even if he isn't our best starter, you can't send him to the pen? That passes for logic? Yeah, ok. So are you arguing that unless Humber is our best starter, he has no business in the rotation?
  8. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 27, 2011 -> 10:22 AM) And you're right back to having to hack the phone.... But reading the review of that phone, it clearly states that it's top notch out of the box. I personally prefer to run Cyanogen. And Samsung phones are getting Gingerbread OS updates rolled out. Other manufactures haven't done that yet including HTC and its EVO.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 27, 2011 -> 10:14 AM) Anybody else as excited as I am about four more years of the Patriot Act?! Not a fan of this guy but he's spot on here.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ May 27, 2011 -> 10:09 AM) My advice is it may be best to start with a vegetarian diet. My second advice is DONT SEEK MEAT SUBSITUTES. Tofu stirfry is one thing, but immediately on trying vegetarianism, my friends would try tofu burgers and it would turn them off. Look toward indian cuisine. Use Eggplant and lentils. Rice, beans, peppers, and lime are your friends. I've just seen that the quickest way to failure is typically the "What's the vegetarian answer for a burger" even though black bean burgers are pretty dope. But you could also start small by trying pescatarianism. Good recommendations. Thai, Indian, Mexican and other ethnic foods are easy choices for vegetarians and vegans. No need to try "weird" meat substitutes.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) I made a vegan tostada last night and thought of you! How were they? Did you use beans as the protein? QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 27, 2011 -> 10:01 AM) I've often considered attempting such a diet for a few months, just to see if I can feel/see any differences be it slight or significant, but I have no idea where to begin, or how to go about doing this without severely altering everything in my life to accommodate such a change. Such as where to eat or shop without having to go far out of my way to do so, etc. I know what tastes good in the meat world and how to make it, but of the few vegan things I've attempted to eat over the past few weeks in determining whether I'd like to delve further into this journey, I've found that what I did eat was rather bland tasting, and often just...not very good or pleasing to eat. I'm always here as a resource. And FYI this is my favorite recipe blog. Everything is outstanding.
  12. Any chance Boozer gets traded? God I can't stand him.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:56 AM) Miami just beat the best team they will face in 5 games. Dallas stands zero chance. I'm glad everyone is discounting them. They will surprise people.
  14. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:49 AM) b****ing aside, I'm depressed but I feel the Bulls will make some sort of move to acquire a shooting guard and will be even better next year. At least, I sure as hell hope so. From what I've heard about Derrick's work ethic, he will be even more dangerous next year. Expect him to be a much better mid range shooter with a post up game.
  15. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:49 AM) Juan Pierre is playing better than him right now. That's scary. Who isn't playing better than him? I'd bet there are quite a few NL pitchers who are more dangerous at the plate right now than Dunn. He looks like he has no chance in every at bat.
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:36 AM) This one is for BS. I've been reading this guy's blog lately, he's a law professor at Cornell. He has a review of a new pro-vegan movie, though, and a follow-up today. Good stuff. Thanks for posting. The wife and I are planning to go see the film this weekend if the baby doesn't show up first. BTW, Ebert gave the film glowing reviews.
  17. QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:37 AM) The only problem with the Galaxy is who makes it. They have a history of non-updates or slow updates or outright not supporting old hardware (and by old, I mean a few months old). Samsung has a terrible history of non support...I just don't know if I trust them anymore. Yeah but if I were to get that phone I'd hack it and throw Cyanogenmod on it and could care less about Samsung updates.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:32 AM) We're 1/3 of the way through the season and it's not even really close! When you compare the upside of putting him in the pen versus the risk, it's not even a decision. We've seen Cooper dramatically change the careers of many pitchers that have come through here, whether it was Esteban Loaiza, Matt Thornton, Jose Contreras, or Gavin Floyd. Why the hell would you start questioning this now? What if we would have put Gavin in the bullpen in 2008 after 10 starts? This is pure lunacy... Thank you.
  19. QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:14 AM) It's really not Android that's the problem, it's the manufacturers messing with it and sticking their garbage on it. Take any non-Google branded phone and you HAVE to hack it for numerous reasons. Take a Droid for example, hack it and you'll GAIN 50% battery life, speed, and overall smoothness. And I'm not talking about a little bit, I mean, it's NOTICEABLE. To me, that's unacceptable...and I wish they'd knock it off. I can't disagree with you. And like I said, the new superphones seem to avoid those issues. Just read the review for the Galaxy S II. The phone seems pretty badass out of the box.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:12 AM) Do people really think that Phil Humber will finish the season with better numbers than the rest of the starting 5? f***, I thought I was the anointed homer. The guy is on fire. Why fix something that's not broken? It's not like he's been all smoke and mirrors and every out he gets is a hard hit line drive.
  21. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:11 AM) How about 10th?
  22. QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:02 AM) I agree, and for the reasons you stated above. The main reason these haven't been cracked is because there are just too many viable alternatives to bother. There aren't many hackers attempting to crack these keys because they can just buy a superior device that isn't encrypted or controlled in this manner. I'm not an Android person, as you know, but if I was, I wouldn't even consider these devices. If they're that worried about locking me down, I'd go elsewhere with my business. The biggest problem I have with Android devices at the moment is that you have to hack them to make them good...I'm not into that hacker crap anymore, so I just use my iPhone, which I'm perfectly happy with unhacked. The next wave of phones are pretty ridiculous. They look to be pretty awesome out of the box but I guess I'll believe it when I see it.
  23. Management of this organization is brain dead.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2011 -> 08:29 AM) Well, that was one hell of a collapse. Yeah I'm still depressed. Trying to stay optimistic though. I really think they'll be able to find someone to bring in to take this team to the next level. Who wouldn't want to play with a 22 year, out-of-this-world point guard that only has room to improve and an elite coach?
