  1. RT @Jordan4Life I f***ing hate Twitter so much.
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 01:02 PM) If he wants 13 fine.................. 15 see ya PK! Excellent point.
  3. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 12:25 PM) Jon Heyman on twitter reporting that a 7 year offer for Lee was put on the table by a "mystery" team Damn! Jerry really is all in. Oh Derek not Cliff. Never mind
  4. QUOTE (Real @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 12:06 PM) Sucks that D.Lee is even older that Konerko, though I bet we could sign him to a two year deal and have Viciedo waiting They're essentially the same age as Lee is 6 months older.
  5. The Walking Dead smashes basic-cable records with season finale
  6. Herm Schneider and D Lee would be a nice match for a nice healthy and productive season for 2011.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 11:18 AM) Or maybe PK wants to go out after a great year and not risk signing a 3 year deal and having a miserable final season? Or is content having a world series ring while amassing millions with an opportunity now to spend more time with his family.
  8. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 11:17 AM) I'd say odds are pretty nill that they would give Konerko $15M even for one year. As much as we all love the guy he just ain't worth that, especially with how up and down his career has been. *awaits greg to enter the fray to call everyone out for comments like this*
  9. Good points brought up regarding Cowley. Unless I see some other insiders with similar info I'll choose to ignore his comment.
  10. #Yankees still want K. Wood back; Lee comes first. #WhiteSox also showing interest in Wood; Konerko first. Sox need late-inning help. via Rosenthal
  11. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 11:06 AM) I don't know. That's a ton of money. Maybe Baltimore, but I can't see any other team offering that much. If not he'll be forced to take his price down. Supply and demand folks.
  12. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 11:05 AM) Paulie has every right to make a power play here, it doesn't mean we have play it with him. I say we set a price, a deadline, and bide our time. Exactly.
  13. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 11:03 AM) DAMMIT PAULIE!!!! f*** it... call D. Lee and get him and some other pieces since Paulie is being a lil b****... Oh please. He's looking out for him and his family. Other teams would pay him that much.
  14. I must say that racial profiling would be a great idea to catch terrorists. Here's another example of where it could have helped.
  15. Cowley saying PK is asking for $15M per year.
  16. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 09:53 AM) Sorry, it's a pet peeve that I should probably just get over, but I see it all the time. Hope you haven't ordered the banner yet. Yeah I'm out $320. Live and learn.
  17. There are 15 million people unemployed. What do you propose be done about it until most of these people find work?
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 09:40 AM) Sqwert, you are in internal audit? Woudl you be willing to transfer? If so, I'll come me eye open for some IA jobs out here. What industry do you have experience in? I'd be willing to transfer if relocation is at least partially covered. And it depends on where the location is. Experience has been primarily in retail/wholesale. And yes, Internal Audit. Thanks Jason!
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 09:29 AM) I laugh everytime I hear this. Exactly what jobs are we turning down? I have been out for a year and a half now, without a single job offer. For real. I log every job I apply for. So far I've turned in my resume for 34 different job postings this year. I've had one interview out of all of that.
  20. Some possible locations: Piece in Wicker Park Small Bar on Division Jimmy Green's in South Loop Captain Morgan Club at Wrigley Field
  21. Please join us for the inaugural Soxtalk winter drinkathon. Jan 7th at Dylan's Tavern & Grill starting at 6PM. Confirmed attendees: Bigsqwert
  22. Get a nice post for once and you had to piss on it. Sheesh.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) I think it's REALLY hard to say this about New England considering their offense relies a TON on the short passing game (although they have been running the ball much better as of late), and their defense is extremely mediocre, if not downright poor. The Pats, and Tom Brady for that matter, could certainly win out from here, however, should they run into some nasty weather, I think they could easily get their asses handed to them by a physical running team that plays good defense, i.e. the Jets/Ravens/Steelers/Chiefs. I love what the Pats do, and Bellichick is insanely brilliant, and Brady is incredibly talented. But I just worry about what a game in the snow and wind might do to their offense come playoff time... Take it from a Raider fan...they'll be fine in the snow.
