QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 11:29 AM) Blasted things are too good at hiding from me on the plains. Cheetahs are adept at finding them. Trying teaming up with a couple.

2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 09:21 AM) Out of all of the reasons to not root for a baseball team, this is a pretty fascinating one. Apparently, there are some things that 16 years and multiple ownership and personnel changes can’t wash away. Yeah no kidding.

Y'all are acting really weird in here. Like a bunch of wild, striped, horse-like animals.

Twins Collapse with Home Field Adv.
They will still get a ridiculous amount of fans to each game because of tourism. Like it or not, Wrigley Field and Wrigleyville is a huge tourist draw and will continue to be no matter how crappy that team is. Even out of town Sox fans go out of there way to visit that s*** hole when they visit Chicago.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) YEs. When climatolgists get data showing a half degree rise, they start cherry picking and ignoring data unitl they get a 4 degree rise because that sounds scarier. They been caught doing stuff like that so many times that anyone who was sceptical to begin with just doesnt' believe anythign they say anymore. You are basing this assertion on what exactly? One case of misrepresentation? You're aware there have been countless studies done in this field by thousands of scientists around the globe? What proof do you have that your blanket statement is true in any way?

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 02:59 PM) The video part scares me. My worry is that they will have limited bandwidth in the hotel and video will constantly dropout or get laggy. If bandwidth will be an issue then I don't think you'll find an alternative solution that will work.

The environment thread
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 02:59 PM) You know, it would help if every time the one side gets the tiniest bit of data to support its position, it didn't exagerate it 1000-fold or just make s*** up becauor just because the real data wasn't 'sexy' enough to induce fear to act now. You lie, and it doesn't matter what the truth is, people will not believe you. What a joke of a post. Why even bother wasting anyone's time?

The environment thread
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 09:33 AM) And I didn't use that argument, did I? I stated that it will cost a lot, and you are damn right that is a valid point in the argument. You don't want the consequences of not acting ignored, yet you seem quick to ignore the costs of acting. You need to look at both. We know ignoring it will have dire consequences. I just don't see how it's even an option to ignore things because it might cost a lot of money to fix.

White Sox targeting Carl Crawford
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 05:22 PM) Yet some don't understand why the Jackson/Hudson trade didn't make a lick of sense. How can it not make a lick of sense? Sure it was a pretty awful trade to make but it was to give us a better shot at winning it this year. If Don Cooper is telling everyone he sees the flaw in Jackson and can tweak some things how does that not give us a good shot at winning the division this year? I don't think anyone in Sox management felt good about Hudson being in the rotation for a division race. Admittedly it was a long shot but we were at or near first place at the time and Hudson seemed like a risk to have in the rotation at the time. Kenny took a gamble for this year and it obviously didn't pay off. This whole thing of "not making any sense whatsoever" is a complete farce. Yes it made sense but it was a long shot, was short-sighted, and it didn't payoff.

Relationship Advice Thread
QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 02:57 PM) Scenario: Dancing in a bar with a girl you are halfway interested in, she wants to start singing the song and gaze into your eyes as she does so. You don't know the words to any of the songs so you continue dancing anyway. She leaves you and then later on you find that she's connecting better with a guy that is looking back at her and singing it with her. What do you do for the future? Just dance and grind the whole night and don't ever look at her face? Start learning song lyrics!

Opt-In Fire Protection
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) You still keep slightly missing the point. This man's property was NOT IN THAT TOWN, so therefor the town lost zero property tax revenue and property value. That town had no legal obligation to put out his fire since he did not pay taxes that went to the fire department and did not pay the fee that would have given him access to that service. You can seperate out the two. And they did. Then why did they even show up to house? To taunt him?

White Sox targeting Carl Crawford
QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 01:02 PM) "The Sox updated their roster by buying the most expensive Slappy McSlapperson out there for $18 mil a year." "They've now acquired 3/4 of the speediest slappiest hitters out there." In other news, the Twins win the 2011 ALC Division by 12 games."
