  1. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) I wasn't laughing about it either. Just your perception of why it took place. You really couldn't see any possible connection? I'm just saying there might have been a link.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) Do you? No, but I'm not the one laughing about it.
  3. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) Government's the only way. You all have proven your point so much that there is no other solution, even when they're offered. Which solution are you referring to?
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 01:36 PM) What's so funny? You have some inside info on the intent of the crime?
  5. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 01:57 PM) Yes, and we know the only thing that can fix it is the government. You have other solutions to fixing the malpractice problem?
  6. Just pictured that and dry-heaved.
  7. That'll teach you all to get along.
  8. I wouldn't completely rule it out though.
  9. Here's my question. Non-PPR league, 6pt TDs, bonus pts for 100+ yards rushing/receiving, return yardage counted Who do i start at the flex? Kevin Walter (questionable but the offense looks dangerous) Eddie Royal (total bust so far but we do count return yardage) Justin Forsett (just picked him up but not a favorable matchup) Laurent Robinson (terrible offense in st louis) Jonathon Stewart (meh)
  10. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 12:49 PM) Buehrle has a NTC and his salary escalates if he is traded. He's also thrown two no-hitters including a perfect game in Chicago, started and saved a WS game, started the All-Star game for us, threw a CG in the ALCS, etc. The fans chanted his name and lashed out against the organization when Kenny tried to trade him. I'd expect Quentin to be traded before Buehrle, and CQ is going nowhere. What if Kenny traded him to St Louis? He'd probably waive the NTC. But do they even have something we need not named Pujols?
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 09:15 AM) Our advanced scouts seem to be dropping the ball. So are our fielders most of the time.
  12. QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 09:10 AM) Perhaps the Sox need a new conditioning coach? Heck yes! And add some better advanced scouts while we're at it. And yes Iamshack, I think Ozzie is to blame as well.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 09:01 AM) So what are you saying? That Greg Walker's method is impossible to maintain over the course of a long season? Or that Greg Walker himself cannot maintain his duties over the course of a long season? I don't know perhaps it's a little of both. I just find it odd that so many of you are trying to defend a guy who's had an unusually long tenure with average at best results. How many hitting coaches last in an organization for this long?
  14. QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 08:59 AM) No, I'm not trying to defend Walker. It's a serious question. Doesn't the age of the middle of our lineup seem like a more plausible reason for a consistent decline in production at the end of every year? Then how come it's the entire lineup that slumps late each year, including youngsters and whichever free agents we bring in?
  15. QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 08:56 AM) If a team hits from April through July, how is it Walker's fault that they don't hit in August and September? That sounds more like an age problem than a hitting coach problem. I knew it. You ARE Greg Walker.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 08:53 AM) That may be true. How many organizations out of 10 do you think would have fired Ozzie by now, for the team's performance as well as the comments he has made in the media? Perhaps half.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 08:46 AM) I think if you're going to call for Walker's head you better call for Ozzie's as well. The causal link between coach and team performance is tenuous. I think there are other factors one must take into consideration. That being said, this is the first time in Ozzie's tenure that I have begun to consider the team without him as a manager. I'd bet that 9 out of 10 organizations would have fired their hitting coach after several consecutive seasons of abysmal August and Septembers.
  18. So what I've learned from reading this thread is that hitting coaches pretty much have no impact on a team, they get paid a lot of money to just sit around, if players don't listen to them who cares, and unless they commit some sort of felony on their day off they should never be fired.
  19. Listened to Kid CuDi and Muse albums today. Found both to be rather enjoyable.
  20. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 23, 2009 -> 08:57 PM) Nice to see JD nailing the ball tonight. Whooptie f***ing doo. Where was this for the last 8 weeks?
  21. Entertaining blog entry from Cesca... The Impeachment of President Obama
