  1. We should run on Martinez every time. Guy is awful.
  2. Pods! Still amazed people complain about him to this day. Seems like the only one giving his all on a day to day basis.
  3. First big hit in about 14 days. 'Bout f***ing time.
  4. Hopefully we get at least 1 run out of all of this. I won't hold my breath.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) Turning Loaiza and Count into the best pitchers in baseball for a period time was no easy task. And Bobby certainly redeemed himself here. His praise is definitely deserved. Meh. Those guys were probably on roids back then. EDIT: added "probably"
  6. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 04:44 PM) Gavin Floyd says hi. Nuh uh. You're not with him right now.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 04:42 PM) Look at the track records of each has to work with. Coop has turned a lot of deemed failed pitchers into stars while Walk has been mainly working with guys with good track records. Since 2005 the only guy he really turned around was Thornton. He gets way too much praise IMO.
  8. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) I agree with this. Walker takes all the blame when the hitters struggle, but Coop gets no blame for when the pitchers struggle. I think Coop incorrectly gets the benefit of the doubt because of 2005. If we won it all that year because we were an elite offense it might be the other way around.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 04:29 PM) Because the ones he did have turned into some of the better pitchers in baseball. It's your successes that are going to make you. I just find it odd that people are so inconsistent between him and Walker. AJ, Pods, and Beckham are having nice offensive years and Walker gets no credit. Just about the entire bullpen and 3 out of 5 starters suck and no one criticizes Coop.
  10. I prefer we continue our White Sox talk from earlier.
  11. Why do we keep going along with this myth that Coop fixes guys that are flawed? How many guys have gone through our pitching staff that he couldn't turn around? MacDougal Aardsma Riske Koch Vazquez Linebrink Vizcaino Rausch Pena There's probably more I can't think of right now.
  12. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 04:17 PM) it's too late to sweep - we lost the first 3.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 04:11 PM) nationals win 5-4, macdougal is 14 of 15 in saves, ERA just under 2.00 for WAS. Why the hell couldnt he do that here??? Coop sux.
  14. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 04:12 PM) Aside from all the "proven veteran" reasons that Dye won't be benched for an extended period of time, remember, he's playing for perhaps his final contract. I just don't believe Dye would idly sit by, even if he's hitting .100 the remainder of the season, and allow millions to potentially be thrown away for the sake of this time. Just think, a good September from Dye compared to his current state of comatose could be a significant difference come salaries next season. That's part of what's so amazing about his production. Most guys seem to play above their career norms leading into a contract year.
  15. For Christ's sake guys...lets drop this topic.
  16. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) You also don't throw players out there in meaningless games simply because some fans want to see them pitch. If these games are meaningless then shut down Beckham, Getz, Buehrle, Rios, Q, Floyd, Danks, and Thornton.
  17. Zen breathing could help though.
