  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 04:26 PM) Sure, if he starts in the minors, proves he knows how to manage players and game situations, absolutely. JUST LIKE ROBIN!
  2. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 05:01 PM) I'm going to go ahead and say that Jrue Holiday is much better than a decent point guard. Guy is 23 years old just off his first all star game, very bright future and still getting better. Now he'll have some more weapons (as sad as that sounds) than he did in Philly He just had incredible usage last year. Usage = stats. He shot 43% and turned the ball over 4 times per game.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 04:45 PM) He's the white AJ Pierzynski in that you hate him unless he's on your team. But I just don't think he's very good. He can get loose balls but that's about it. Oh yeah. He sucks. I still like him for some reason.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 04:07 PM) June 2011: Robin Ventura named special assistant to Buddy Bell October 2011: Robin Ventura upgraded to manager July 2, 2013, Jim Thome named special Assistant to Rick Hahn ? I'd love for Jim to be our manager.
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 03:41 PM) Beat ya by 12 minutes in the game thread No one goes in those.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) He is such a spaz. I suppose he would be a welcome spaz in a bulls uni, but he irritated me so much watching him play Because he's the white LeBron.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 03:16 PM) JI JIM THOME You got me. I LOL'd.
  8. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) Which is weird, because you normally don't like terrible players... I know, right! We all have our vices. One of mine is the heart, hustle, and muscle of one Tyler Hansbrough.
  9. Jim Thome has been hired by the White Sox to serve as a special assistant to the general manager. Which presumably means that his playing career is over. Thome was telling people as recently as May that he wanted to sign with a major league team, but nothing ever came about. The 42-year-old played for the White Sox for four years (2006-2009) and was beloved. What's hilarious, is he can probably hit better than the DH we have making $15 million (leave it be, Wite).
  10. Tyler Hansbrough is now a free agent. I've always liked that idiot for some reason.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 01:50 PM) I thought one player couldn't get more than 20% of a teams cap number? It's 5 million per year.
  12. Vincent Lecavalier wants 5 years @ $25 million. ie - gtfo
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 12:55 PM) Really? Are we looking at the same guys? Feldman didn't cost em much, but what did they exactly get? Arrieta has some nasty stuff. He could flat rape the NL.
  14. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) It's just maddening to me (because they are my parents and everything) that they think they are being healthy with those salads. I get mad any time my 55 and 56 year old parents eat like idiots. Which is all the time.
  15. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 01:03 PM) Yea that salad is definitely still very healthy. It's people like my parents who absolutely douse their salads in ranch (but hey it's light ranch!) that aren't being healthy. They eat salads to be healthy, but meanwhile they must be putting close to 150-200 calories in each salad on dressing along, it's disgusting (they also add shaved almonds, dried cranberries and sunflower seeds). I've given up trying to convince them to cut down on it. It could be worse, they could be eating pizza or steak.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 12:45 PM) I was shocked he was still here after the draft. This.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 12:44 PM) Chris De Luca ‏@ChrisDeLuca 1h Book claims #Chicago #Bulls star Michael Jordan played dice for virginity of MTV’s Kennedy http://voices.suntimes.com/sports/book-cla...f-mtvs-kennedy/ … via @suntimes Well, that tweet is about as far off from the actual story as possible, but keep pasting them away without vetting the content first.
  18. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 12:42 PM) I'm not in the denial phase that the ending was dumb. I think Chase wanted to kill Tony, but IMO, the s*** way he went about it sucked. Well, that's a stark change from denying he killed him off. I like it - I think it was brilliant.

    2013 TV Thread

    Thank God my wife's not a complete idiot.
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 11:29 AM) Otherwise, the blackout makes no sense without the perspective that the viewer WAS Tony, and we weren't. You ignore completely the 7 previous times someone walked into the diner. door jingles, they show tony look up, next scene, they show him watch someone walk in from his perspective. LIKE SEVEN TIMES DUDE! It's all shown in the link I provided above. When the door jingles the final time, they show Tony look up, then black. His perspective is black. He's f***ing dead.
  21. http://masterofsopranos.wordpress.com/the-...ion-of-the-end/ It's pretty well pieced together here. Tony got shot in the brain. Anyone who argues is just ignoring hard evidence.
  22. The Mavericks and Wolves have discussed a sign-and-trade involving O.J. Mayo and J.J. Barea. ESPN Dallas calls it a "near certainty" that Mayo won't return with the Mavs, given his asking price, so Mark Cuban's team is hoping to at least get some value for him via sign-and-trade. Here's where I don't get the Bulls. If the Mavs will take Barea and a pick back, can't you jump in there, offer some pick and a contract, and get a much-needed piece on this roster? Sigh.
  23. The Knicks are preparing a contract offer for veteran big man Elton Brand, and ESPN's Jared Zwerling reports that "mutual interest [is] high." The Knicks are basically run by a kid with an XBOX just seeing names and not caring about injury history or effectiveness. That team is going to be hilariously bad on defense again this year.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 10:25 AM) Are you sure it was a summer workout and not from February? Because it's not like he wasn't doing that 6 months agol. Yeah. He's been dunking like a monster for a very long time.
  25. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 10:17 AM) Yesterday B and B were lamenting the loss of Nate (even though they assume everyone on the team hated him and they seem to think fans weren't fond either). "So Dunleavy replaces Belinelli, but who replaces Nate?" Maybe...Derrick Rose??? They are citing Nate's breakout games where his scoring pretty much won us a game as a reason to say our team will be worse off. No thanks, we won't need some crazy guy on the bench to rescue us offensively when Derrick leaves the game with a lead. B and B are usually right on with regards to basketball, but that's stupid if true. That said, lots of assumptions that D-Rose won't suck.
