QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 9, 2013 -> 11:54 AM) They found the "lady" who flipped off Noah. She has an interesting story in her past. She's loving every minute of this, I'd imagine.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 9, 2013 -> 10:45 AM) I am man enough to admit that I would hatef*** the s*** out of Snooki Saying "yeah I'd f*** her" is a lot different from saying she's hot.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 8, 2013 -> 09:17 PM) The Great Gatsby with 19 negative reviews so far and 15 positive. Never thought a Michael Bay movie (Pain & Gain) would outdo a Baz Luhrmann one. The ew.com reviewer gave it a B-. Carey Mulligan really needs to find another role that will test her acting chops. Moreso than emoting as Daisy Buchanan. Scar-Jo or Amanda Seyfried could just as easily do that. First of all, Pain & Gain rocked. Second of all, you knew Great Gatsby would suck. They've been making that movie for like 3 years and have re-edited it like 800 times. I think I first saw a preview for it in like 2011.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 9, 2013 -> 05:11 AM) Saw Soundgarden in Atlanta on Tuesday night. Very odd setlist (I mean, how does SG do a show and NOT play Jesus Christ Pose??), but overall, Chris still has it. Of course, I'm biased, Cornell could sing opera and I'd probably still enjoy it. They f***ing rock forever.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2013 -> 11:49 PM) Overtime night! 3rd of the night starting soon. Best thing in the world. If you haven't seen the Boston/Toronto game winner go watch it first...then click. https://vine.co/v/b2PFre2auF5 Hahaha, just watched that. -

If you haven't seen the Boston/Toronto game winner go watch it first...then click. https://vine.co/v/b2PFre2auF5 I'm so old and responsible now. Three years ago I'd have been blackout drunk excited for as many overtimes as possible. Last night? Sleeping like a baby. -
I expected the Bulls to get rolled after Game 1 - you know, awaken the monster that's not taking you seriously and all - but egads, that was bad. The meathead in me thinks "maybe Rose will play and score 48 in game 3 - and maybe Hinrich will be back to give quality minutes on defense - and maybe Deng will miraculously recover from an issue that HASN'T EVEN BEEN DIAGNOSED YET". The rational human in me knows this one will be over in 5, and we'll see Rose around Halloween.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 8, 2013 -> 03:42 PM) yeah Did you ask to speak with the retention department? I can't imagine that DSL or satellite television depending ont he service you want is unavailable.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2013 -> 01:21 PM) I'm guessing part of this stems from me playing so much baseball as a kid, and just recently picking up golf last few years, casually. Rock now I think I understand the concept, at least somewhat...one of these days I'll hit the range instead of the course and hit 500 ball until it's not as bad. I bet if I saw it on video I'd be like "holy f***, that looks awful" Steve, I actually come out by you to play with snb sometimes, so this wouldn't be too hard to arrange. Plus, we both like beer. k, just holler next time you are playing and I'll see if it works.

Sox setting up for the end of the Konerko era?
Steve9347 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2013 -> 12:27 PM) If you really believe that, you don't remember your White Sox history, at all. Whoa! You got me! Trading Jake Peavy would be the END of the franchise. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 8, 2013 -> 12:23 PM) So what Steve is doing here is trying to force you not to be able to come across the ball instead aiming the swing more towards the outside. Exactly, it's a forced correction that teaches you proper mechanics over time. Eventually, it feels natural. None of us are Tiger Woods, but this has really helped me eradicate any slice on drives and get sick, consistent distance.

Sox setting up for the end of the Konerko era?
Steve9347 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2013 -> 11:55 AM) You honestly believe teh Sox trade Jake Peavy in midseason and attendance does nothing, and no one writes about White Flag? Now I know you are trolling. I disagree with your stance. People aren't going to a Sox game to zOMG JAKE PEAVY. Not now, not ever. Also, no one in their right mind thinks this is a team that will compete, so it wouldn't be a white flag. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 8, 2013 -> 12:04 PM) I honestly think that attendance will not be adversely affected by a Jake Peavy trade. 10 games out is no white flag. Per the usual, you can do no right on this board, but I agree with you. -
Sox setting up for the end of the Konerko era?

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 8, 2013 -> 11:53 AM) Good read..."Are the White Sox off to a bad start, or are they just bad?" Knobler article The answer was obvious well before the season started. -
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) I remember you talking about this before, but I couldn't figure it out. I will try exactly as you say next time I'm out there, or at least grab a club here and try to figure it out. You're right, it is hard to explain/figure out. It just feels awkward and like "wtf am I doing." So it's just raising the shoulder? I'm not shifting at the hips or anything? And then keep said shoulder high throughout the swing? Normal golf stance. Raise front shoulder until your right hand falls NATURALLY straight back. I've actually learned to force my arms straight back and get a ton of power. With practice makes perfect. We could always shoot 9 and grab a beer at some point.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2013 -> 11:46 AM) It was a par 3, but even still, I don't get pars much at all. I'm usually getting 6's and 7's on holes, which while not great, isn't terrible IMO. If I could not 3 putt almost everything, I'd be in better shape. I have zero clue how to judge hitting long putts, just to try for a 2 putt. Well that and me aiming at more than a 45 degree angle to the left off the tee so my crazy slice finds the fairway. I used to have that slice. I then got the greatest golf tip of all-time which helped me fix it. 300 yard drives happen a lot for me now. It's hard to explain, but I'll try. Assuming you are a righty, when holding your club raise your left shoulder. A lot. You should raise your left shoulder until when you naturally release your right hand it falls straight back away from your target. Try it out. Do your normal stance and release your right hand and I bet anything it comes back towards you. Let it naturally fall, don't force it. That s*** might even hit your leg. Guess what, that means your s***'s f***ed. So raise your lead shoulder until that hand falls straight back away from the f***ing target. It'll be uncomfortable at first, but once you get your swing down with that s***, you'll be asking me my address so you can properly thank me.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2013 -> 11:41 AM) Had a par the other day. Felt like I won the Masters. Ha! I haven't been able to get out this year. The two days planned wound up having absolutely awful weather, and I've had a lot of family s*** and work s*** taking up my time. That said, when I was hitting it a lot last year I was nailing birdies and pars and they are absolutely majestic.

Sox setting up for the end of the Konerko era?
Steve9347 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think the White Sox should be AROUND Paul Konerko. He's only 37. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 8, 2013 -> 11:20 AM) He admitted he didnt feel right for the first month or two he was back, but now feels 100% Because you have to actually play to get that feeling back. Exactly.

QUOTE (Jake @ May 8, 2013 -> 11:19 AM) "Iman Shumpert is a shadow of his rookie self" - Michael Wilbon That certainly was not an explosive play.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 8, 2013 -> 10:59 AM) (1) How do people like comcast internet, and specifically the 25mbs speed (since I know that's a bulls*** marketing number and the actual speed is much lower). Any outage problems or bandwidth throttles? I don't do torrents, just web browsing and lots of movie/tv show streaming and occasional gaming. (2) Does the modem you have come with a built in wi-fi router? That's a benefit of the AT&T system, but for $10/month savings I could go buy a wireless router and still come out ahead probably. (1) Speed is fine for anything you want to do. (2) I would recommend just buying your own modem and router and having ownership of it vs renting from anyone.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2013 -> 10:36 AM) Gotcha. Flapship needs to break the story! It was already "broken" by Hoopsworld, but of course Flapship gave them a shoutout in a post that's dominating via google news right now. Come on, son. zOMG! Another Derrick Rose Rumor!
