QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 03:42 PM) Bill Russell sucks. I wish you hadn't gone all hater on me, because then I could enjoy a post like this.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 03:29 PM) And I disagree with this. Look at how guys like Garnett and Duncan are doing in today's NBA. They are considered two of the best Centers. Hell, a 36 year old Duncan has a higher PER right now than he did at the age of 24. His PER 36 minutes are pretty much in line with his career stats (Garnetts aren't too far off either). Now look at how guys like Hakeem and David Robinson aged (when the league was stronger). A very clear dip in production. Those are just a couple of examples. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Growth_hormone

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 03:21 PM) Explain the lack of quality big men, if every generation is bigger and faster, then why no 7 foot freaks of nature like Shaq. Wouldn't we have a plethora of big men? Prime Dwight Howard can't touch KAJ, Shaq, the Dream, DRobinson etc. Because now the league has 6'10" freaks like Kevin Durant who can run with anyone and score from anywhere past half court.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) What are the 5 most sexy QB's to play in the Super Bowl? They are all Rexy.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 12:12 PM) http://www.nfl.com/superbowl/story/0ap1000...wl-quarterbacks When Colin Kaepernick leads the San Francisco 49ers into battle in Super Bowl XLVII, he'll do so as one of the most athletic quarterbacks to ever have played in the title game. The 49ers have 3 of his top 5 athletic QB's That list is worthless without Rex Grossman.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 03:03 PM) The sole role of the state should be to enforce private property rights through violence? They can't do that in his world, because in his world everyone defends themselves with automatic weapons and can't be treaded upon.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 02:48 PM) I dont care about poverty. In 1950 I would've cared about structural racism but 63 years later much has been done to rectify that issue, so I dont really care about that either. What I do care about is how much I pay in taxes and where that money goes. I've never heard a compelling argument from anyone as to why I should be forced at gunpoint to give my money to something I dont care about. Some say a little welfare in the short term saves us a lot of welfare in the long term, I dont care... I dont want to pay for any welfare for anyone (or anything, since corporate welfare has gotten so crazy too). I should not be forced to pay for someone else's kids' schools, or their food, or their rent or their anything. Some say there is a benefit to it (I see none) and if those people feel obligated to subsidize others and their life then they can give money on their own accord, but taking it from me is stealing. That's where I stand on this. YOU BUILT THAT

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 12:03 PM) well... not really. any machines like ellipticals, steppers etc outlive their usefulness reeeeally fast as your muscles adjust to the extremely repetitive motions. Of course, but they have their place. Going for long jogs in Central Park outlives its usefulness as well and can start causing harm if that's ALL you do. You have to always be mixing things up.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) I think we can all agree that Derrick Rose is better than both MJ and LeBron James. I wish you'd attempt to contribute to the thread instead of never-ever getting over a fanbase falling in love with a guy like Rose. But, I guess it's hard to give a s*** when God keeps injuring your team's players right as that roster was starting to be fun.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 12:36 PM) I mean, using the logic of one great playoffs makes a lot people better than MJ. I'm also taking into account his vastly superior physical skillset.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 12:27 PM) LeBron does have the physical skills to be better than Jordan, but you're right, at least up until now, mentally can't match him. Not to say he won't someday, but right now, no way. If LeBron ever gets near Jordan's competitve nature, it will be pretty close. LeBron is unstoppable. When he decides to take over games it's like a high school all american vs. 8th graders. Before last year, I'd agree - but LeBron rose up and crossed any obstacles he had mentally last year when he flat out raped the planet. Mentally, he has nothing left to prove that he's beyond that issue.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 09:54 AM) Justin Upton - B.J. Upton - Jason Heyward is a very nice young, core outfield. BJ Upton is 29 in August and had an OBP of .298 last year. What year are you living in, exactly? -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 11:20 AM) Running stairs is awesome for you. Stabilizers, strength, toning, and cardio. It can be hard on your knees, but it's so, so, so good for you. And I'm obviously talking about actual stairs, not just stair steppers. Don't you hate on stair steppers - they are the s***.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 11:28 AM) Growing up I was a huge MJ fan, the man was a sports god in my eyes and I really resented the way the NBA and the media presented Kobe right from the get go as the "next MJ". MJ earned his place in the GOAT debate with achievements, he EARNED it and I felt the NBA wanted to hand Kobe the mantle of the next GOAT just because his game was somewhat similar to Jordan's. Then Kobe got 3 rings in his early 20's (thanks to Shaq) and I thought it would be inevitable that Kobe would surpass MJ and give fodder to his foolish fan base and some ignorant media types that Kobe>MJ. Today with Kobe being in the twilight of his career and still stuck on 5 titles, it's looking more and more like he isn't going to get that sixth ring and surprisingly, I can't say that I'm happy about it. Sure, it's funny looking at the Lakers team that on paper look stacked and seeing them struggle so bad but I've become a bit of a Kobe fan (regardless of his moronic fans) and yeah he sometimes shoots way too much and he's a bit of a prick but he's also a throwback NBA player, the last of a dying breed. With all that said, though it may be impossible but wouldn't he look great in a Bulls jersey right now? He's the elite scoring option we need at SG! I know it ain't gonna happen but crazier things have happened before. Seaking of MJ - I love me some MJ. LeBron may not get to 6 rings (who knows, who cares), but right now he's flat out a better baller than MJ ever was. Hell, I'm even leaning that way with Kevin Durant - he's a freak of nature. These guys are bigger, stronger, and better than MJ. MJ would still get his against them if we're talking prime, but if I were starting a franchise today, I'd take prime LBJ or Durant over prime MJ. There, I said it. Flame on.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 08:22 AM) Junior Seau's family is suing the NFL http://pro32.ap.org/content/seaus-family-s...-brain-injuries It's as if they had no idea repeatedly getting hit in the head was bad for a person. What a joke, Junior Seau made $28.2 million in career earnings in the NFL alone playing a game where he repeatedly hit his head, and now the NFL gets sued for it.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 09:54 AM) People were talking about Jo's big play last night possibly giving him a push into the AS game... ...and of course SportsCenter decided the Bulls-Pistons game would be the one NBA game they didn't cover today. Nobody will even know that play happened. F*ck ESPN. At least NBA TV cares.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 11:00 AM) They've eliminated cursive writing from the curriculum in many schools, but they haven't replaced it with mandatory typing classes which should start in elementary school. Typing class rawked because I always finished early. So much Oregon Trail.
