  1. He's back, and he'll likely lead off tonight, and the White Sox will likely dominate because of this fact.
  2. F*ck it boys, my drunk ass will carry this team with a super thread. Zero game lead or two game lead? I'll take the latter. I suck. VS "I'm going to f*** these idiots up, and then I'm getting f***d up." Snoop says, "aiight that s*** is tight". We got this.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 10:51 AM) This will be run in the local paper game day as a paid advertisement http://www.emf.intherough.net/Board%20of%2...es%20letter.pdf I mean, come on idiots. Nuke them all.

  5. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 11:22 PM) whats with the bears' orange pants? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100000005...ign=Twitter_atl Yeah, it gets old changing it for games. It looks stupid.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 10:44 PM) Ian is the HOH. Come the f*** on dude, don't just post spoilers like that.
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) She does, however, endlessly rub her time off in my face That's when you knock her up and the time off becomes "raise my child" time.
  8. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 04:07 PM) Congrats. I've haven't been here long, but it is my favorite forum on the internet. You know what I want to see? Game 4 of the 2005 World Series Game Thread. Does anyone have the link to it? http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42133
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 04:25 PM) My wife busts her ass during the year because that's just in her nature, but other teachers and their whining typically piss her off. I like your wife already.
  10. QUOTE (kev211 @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 05:52 PM) And in that 75% of the year they're working way more than 8 hours a day. 10 or 12 hours a day usually, if they coach or run a club its even longer. Any good teacher is spending a decent amount of time during the summer preparing for the next year anyway. If you pay them more and make it harder to get a teaching degree you're going to eliminate anyone who games the system. Your statement is the real common misconception OMG 10 hour days noooooooo. Give me a break. My entire family is teachers, and I see how much they "work" over summers, and how much they b**** if they put in an extra few hours of prep.

This season of Big Brother has been one of the best I've ever watched.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 08:31 AM) I'm sure both have happened. Kenny has just managed to silence the leak in the clubhouse by trading him to Miami. So, so true.
  13. I discovered this page dying for an outlet to gush about the White Sox in the late Spring of 2005. I was in DeKalb, at college, and discovered Soxtalk. I started posting, and quickly became addicted. I also fell in love, at that time, with Photoshop because I wanted to make some truly ugly sigs. I was a complete rookie with the software, but I had to represent! The passion started there wound up helping me find a job post-college and now I use the software everyday for fun and for my profession. Anyway, I've made an ass of myself here almost as much as I have in my real life, but this site is the s*** and I'm glad I found it. Thanks to Jason and all the mods who work to make it more difficult everyday to rip on someone for disagreeing with me.

    God, I would ruin Britney.
  15. And it's moot. Guess what? NO ONE CLAIMED THAT AWFUL CONTRACT BECAUSE IT'S SO AWFUL THE TWINS WOULD HAVE LET HIM GO. Joe Mauer has cleared revocable waivers. Which means that he can be dealt to any team between now and 12 a.m. ET on Friday. Mauer is owed around $138 million over the next six years and carries a no-trade clause, so a move is highly doubtful to happen.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) How about a wager? Any sort of trade and the bet is off, but if the news comes out that he's claimed and the Twins let him go, I won't post here for 6 months. If it comes out he's claimed and the Twins pull him back, you don't post here for 3 months? How about something less stupid during a White Sox push to the playoffs? The last thing I'd want is to not be able to post here during that. If that happened, how about you have to put "I am an idiot, and Steve is awesome." in your signature really big-like. In the small likelihood that I get proven wrong here, I do likewise.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) Twins are averaging over 35k a game. Dumping Mauer for no return WILL NOT HAPPEN. If some team were dumb enough to claim Joe Mauer, they'd piss their collective panties (they all wear women's underwear) and drive him to the airport while doing lines of blow off hookers' asses.

FX picks up "Anger Management" for 90 more episodes. How the? Wha?
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) He was always a walks-machine leading up to the 2009 season. In his 4 full seasons prior to that, he hit a homer basically every 51 at-bats. He had in incredible 2009 season, no doubt about it. But if you're going to sign the guy to a 8-year $184 million contract based on one outlier season, you shouldn't be shocked that it turns out to be an "awful" contract. None of this effects my point that the Twins would do the happy dance if someone claimed Joe Mauer.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) So you design a pitchers ballpark that takes away his power, and you sign him at the absolute peak of his performance. Brilliant. It was absolutely retarded. You don't purchase an asset at it's absolute peak value. They didn't purchase an asset at it's absolute peak value. They extended the asset. They invested in a draft pick, developed him, paid him the going rate, and watched him blossom into the best hitter in baseball. They then paid to keep him instead of trading him for a truckload of prospects or watching him walk in free agency. He then declined rapidly.
