QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 09:49 PM) 53 'Arrested Development' Jokes You Probably Missed Wow. I have caught a lot of those in my repeat viewings, but wow!

QUOTE (coco1997 @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 12:21 PM) If his dog has been sick and it's been distracting him, I can't blame him at all. Similar to how Dunn's family problems probably contributed to his performance last year. Holy hell this post is all kinds of wrong.

Nice, gregbot is back.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 11:19 AM) Im not sure Walt missed out on anything. Im pretty sure that Walt basically took his ball and went home when things didnt go his way. It appears the other partners wanted Walt involved, but Walt only wanted to do things on his terms. I like how you tied that together.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 12:54 AM) It seems when people create threads like this (good or bad) the opposite always happens. Lets hope this happens with Beckham. Everytime I bump that Dunn thread he goes on a tear.

Will Konerko pass Thomas for all-time Sox HR lead?

I actually don't think Paulie does it. I am sadly thinking he's headed for a precipitous decline shortly. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 11:41 PM) I think the cancer may take him, but either way, I think the DEA finds out about him right around the time he dies, and when he dies, all the money gets confiscated by the government anyway, so he dies in vain. Did you need it spelled out for you? It was made abundantly clear that Walt missed out on easy fortunes, yet he refused to take money from his former partners for treatment. Nothing's changed, other than the fact that Jesse now knows.

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) Hawk wouldn't know a Nintendo if it was shoved up his ass I thought the exact opposite about that comment. Of course he referenced Nintendo, and not something in the last two decades. -

I'm incredibly pleased that they bounced back after down 0-3. Big crowd, win it for them. -
As for all this Alexei Ramirez talk, I've pointed out before that he's consistently regressed, too. He has yet to match his rookie season from 5 years ago. However, he has consistently shown the ability to post an OPS over .700, and even though somehow he has a putrid .636 OPS this season, it's at least been productive. He's hit .260 (guess what, still no eye) and he's knocked in 5 fewer runs than Paul Konerko. Either way, they both are s***ty, but Gordon's grievances are far worse.

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) I think OPS sucks as the key evaluator of offense (especially from a middle infielder) but there can't be any stats that make Gordon look good right now. People get paid big bucks to see things that the stats don't show, but many more lose their jobs for thinking they see things that the stats don't show. I'm sure the fate of Gordon Beckham is a hot topic in our front office. I have a feeling Kenny Williams sees a lot of himself in Gordon, which is likely not the most comforting feeling. Yeah. It's not easy giving up on someone everyone here thought was going to be one of our next great ballplayers. I've made excuses for Gordon for long-enough. Every now and then he hits the ball hard for a week and we all get excited. I still have a Beckham jersey, hell, I'll be wearing it to the ballpark on Friday, but the guy isn't turning it around at this point. He's a blackhole in this offense.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) You can twist data to mean anything you want it to. There's no twisting data when I look at 1,055 straight at-bats of a .648 OPS, I see a f***ing bad baseball player. Tell me how you can twist Gordon Beckham's stats and find someone who doesn't suck at baseball. Seriously, you state right above you can twist data to mean anything you want it to, so do just that and tell me he doesn't suck with stats. Saying he's "streaky" isn't good enough, because at the end of the day his OPS+ is F*CKING 66.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) I had a dream last night I was at a Bulls game in early December and it was Rose's first game back. Granted, I also had courtside seats, so the dream's already hilariously unrealistic. Talk about a wet dream.

"Dick Allen" - I respect your adoration for all things Sox, but there's a lot of data suggesting Gordon Beckham is a truly s***ty baseball player.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 12:28 PM) Personally, I love it on my PS3. If I could get NBA League Pass and HBO GO on there, I'd never need to change the TV from my PS3. You can get HBO Go. You download a free thing call PlayOn to your pc. http://www.playon.tv/playon Then get the app. I won't go into more detail, but you can then broadcast hbo go directly to the PlayOn app on your PS3. It's painfully easy, and the quality and ease of use is no different than if you were to just have the app. Although, I don't know why they don't have the app yet, but this is a workaround until then.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) Player A .234 Ave, 11HR, 48 RBI, .670 OPS -0.3 WAR Player B .223 Ave, 11HR, 42 RBI, .624 OPS -0.6 WAR Anyone ready to call Eric Hosmer a bust? Gordon Beckham, 26 in one month, hasn't hit a lick in 3+ season, has a a sub-.700, falling OPS in each as well (.695, .633, .624). Eric Hosmer, 23 in two months, struggling for first time ever. Yup, completely comparable times in their lives and careers.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) The guy is the best fielding 2B in the league. You listen to Hawk too much. He's damn good, but nothing supports best.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) He will be fine As long as you are simply talking about in life and in general while getting paid an MLB salary to be a career backup/utility infielder, then yeah, he'll be fine? He is, however, a top ten draft pick bust.

I can't comment on the 3 mb/s, but I run it on a higher speed on PS3 and it's full HD and glorious. You can choose either feed for games, and also have the radio audio or the park sounds. It's pretty great.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 10:54 PM) Interesting to hear Walt mention his buyout from his old company as motivation. As it should be. We learned all about that in season 1.

Why are we talking Paterno, here? He's dead and buried, his reputation is toast, and he lost his wins record. What should be discussed is how more people can be brought to justice for their heinous crimes, and also, why the f*** did so many rich old men want to rape young boys? This world is a f***ed up place.
