  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 27, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) You would be all over it if it was a ginger superstar. Those don't exist. The closest is Wes from the Challenge. And he's a dope.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 03:19 PM) Furthermore, having Adrian Gonzalez on their roster is probably going to be an incredibly valuable asset for them in terms of developing additional following amongst the communities with Mexican backgrounds in the LA area. I'd love to see some empirical evidence of this. Anytime a latin player moves people say this kind of s***. Gonzo didn't get people to watch Padres games, Ozzie didn't get people to care about the Marlins. This is just drivel that keeps getting repeated anytime a latin player moves. People care about baseball or they don't, and people care about stars or they don't. Someone being white isn't going to make me like them more than if they were latino, and it goes the same for latinos. This is bulls***.
  3. I would imagine Mark Buehrle was placed on waivers and cleared them. Get him.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Aug 27, 2012 -> 08:05 AM) After he did what he at the end last night we saw some of the old, panicky, scared Walt. He snapped. He lost it, and then came to his senses. As much as Walt always has an idea and thinks he has things figured out, it was almost comical in how sad it was that he realized after he shot Mike that he didn't need to.

Breaking Bad is officially the best show ever. The slow development of Walt's character has been the most impressive act in the history.
  6. The Red Sox just dumped 3 guys over 30 who make the GDP of China, one of which has been injured/awful since signing, one of which has just been terrible this year, and the other of which has magically lost his power. Apparently Red Sox fans are unhappy... How on earth can a Red Sox fan be angry right now? That plus Dice-K's Big Papi's cash coming off the books? They just got to hit the re-set button on what would have been an atrocious next five years of salary.
  7. Jesus, this is a stupid trade and the Dodgers are nuts. This is the zaniest waiver trade ever.
  8. That game was f***ing awesome. You know, after they won. Because when they blew that lead i wanted to f***ing murder someone.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) They still have two days to not screw this one up. ESPN Radio's Jim Bowden reports the Red Sox have no intention of trading Adrian Gonzalez to the Dodgers after he was claimed on waivers.
  10. I really don't understand these clubs. You have a get out of jail free card on a contract that has $127 million remaining and goes until the guy is 36. Some club claims him on waivers, and you can literally just let him walk and apply that money to multiple of positions of need this offseason. And you stupidly are going to pull him back? F*ck saving face, get out of that awful contract!
  11. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 12:58 PM) i will be the one with the sox hat I'll be the one with the boner.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 11:54 AM) My first time in the patio area. Any advice? Best to arrive even earlier than 5:30pm? Ha, interesting, mine too. Maybe I will see you there and have no idea who you are.
  13. I'll be the drunk guy at the Patio Party and then in the outfield tonight. One of them, at least.
  14. I was setting my fantasy lineup for Sunday and noticed the Tampa Bay Rays don't play? http://tampabay.rays.mlb.com/schedule/inde...alendar=DEFAULT That's weird.
  15. @redeyechicago 19 people shot in Chicago last night in an 8-hour span: Chicagooooo Chicagooooo my kinda town.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 23, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) Boogie Nooooooooooooo! That was one of the best episodes of Big Brother ever. You have to respect how Ian played it, even if he was letting Dan take the fall. I like how Boogie tipped his cap.
  17. Oh, I love Soxtalk. This is now "not a good thread", because Gordon had a couple of ok games. This MONSTER SERIES brought Gordon's 2nd half OPS up to .587.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) I've actually been a bit stunned with how low that number has been...(for him). that .365 OBP, if done for a full year, would be the lowest OBP in Youk's career. Mostly low batting average...but basically, despite his batting average and OBP being really bad for him, he's been huge for us because he's having such a good slugging %age with us. Yeah, he's been a perfect fit.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) And getting fellated for it. It's nothing but blowjobs and apple sauce for Dweezy these days.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) Can anyone state, with a straight face, that they'd rather see Danks starting these games instead of Wise? Nope. I did not predict that one. Roids? It's funny how Ozzie (and us fans) broke Wise by leading him off (and booing incessently) to start 2009, and here he is 3 years later getting revenge on the Yankees in front of the same fans - leading off.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) It's all been about a power surge for Youk. Well that and the dude takes a walk. He has a .365 OBP with us.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) There are probably 5 or 6 posters who if you listed who or what they thought didn't suck White Sox related, the list would be maybe 2 names/things long. I think that's incredibly inaccurate.
