  1. QUOTE (SnB @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 08:30 AM) I'll be in Cleveland this week for work. The indians are out of town and I've already been to the Rock n Roll Hall of fame. Any recommendations? Get drunk, wear a LeBron Heat jersey shirt around town, and see how long you last.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 11:57 AM) This has been a habit of the entire franchise. It started with Mr. Mom playing Batman, which everyone thought was a horrible decision, until they saw the film. Though, there was that detour in the 3rd-5th movies that were just awful, but the cast was the least of the problems there. Comparing Nolan's films and their casting with anything pre-Nolan is pointless. Also, I don't know what you are referring to with the "5th" movie. If you call it all one franchise, that would be "Batman Begins" which was incredible.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 12:04 PM) Remember when Manny Ramirez came to town and we were trying to stretch every one of his at-bats into a positive? You're confusing Soxtalk with Ken Harrelson.
  4. This trade was an absolute steal. Kevin Youkilis is still a very good 3B, and out of the rather toxic Boston environment, he should thrive. He's another bat in our lineup that is going to see a lot of pitches - he's really going to change the make-up of this offense. This will go down as one of Kenny's best moves, up there with Jose Contreras and snagging Freddy mid-season for chump change. Kenny's getting his groove back. I am still shocked at the price. Yes, apparently the White Sox were the only suitor here, but to give up nothing when our glaring weakness at 3B is so large is incredible. From the sounds of it, there was interest from LA but Youk preferred Chicago, and Boston ownership gave him what he wanted. I am stoked.
  5. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 11:23 AM) Youk is expected to play tonight and he loves him the lefty pitchers. I wonder how much $$ Danks2 is getting for 20.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 10:46 AM) FWIW: Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA The Bulls have privately assured Luol Deng that there's "no chance" of a deal sending him to the Warriors, league source tells Y! Oh NBA rumors involving the Bulls, I hate you so hard. The Bulls rarely actually do anything. Thank you, Woj, for slapping me in the face with some reality.
  7. I didn't say I wanted Vargas to wind up on the Sox, I just have a feeling he will.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) So KW can point all of his scouts and resources (especially Cooper) to scouring the world for more pitching now. Of all things we're good at as an organization, that has to be strength #1. It's really going to be a battle down to the end...war of attrition in this division. I have no idea why, but I feel like Jason Vargas will wind up on the White Sox around the trade deadline.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 10:24 AM) I hope that he pitches a whole lot for Boston, then gets traded to Cleveland or Detroit by the trade deadline. +1
  10. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 10:07 AM) I think Portzline also said he hadn't waived his no-trade for Toronto OR Chicago. Just Florida. Luongo would crumble in Chicago and that contract is ridiculous - this is a good thing.
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 09:51 AM) Lillibridge gave 100% all the time. He didn't look the part of the heavily muscled big time hitter or the fleet footed fielder, but the kid delivered for us and made some spectacular catches. I would have liked to have seen someone else go rather than Lilli, but I guess Boston knew better. His 100% was hitting .175 and had fallen apart against lefties - the only reason he had value last season. It's Brent Lillibridge. He will be in the minors soon enough.
  12. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 12:34 AM) White Sox fan boy reaction to Brent Lillibridge being traded to the Red Sox F*ck that kid. I'm glad he's crying! Hilarious.
  13. GTFO, ye of the 1.57 WHIP across almost 100 MLB innings.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 09:27 AM) Greg? I've thought the same a few times. The lineup I'd like to see: CF De Aza 3B Youk DH Dunn 1B Konerko C Pierzynski RF Rios LF Viciedo 2B Beckham SS Ramirez The lineup we will probably see: CF De Aza 2B Beckham DH Dunn 1B Konerko C Pierzynski 3B Youk RF Rios LF Viciedo SS Ramirez
  15. I like it, because this year is lost as you stated, and then they can amnesty Boozer next offseason, giving the Bulls enough to offer a max contract. Who is going to be a UFA after this season? Oh, possibly Dwight.
  16. Apparently this rumor of Deng to GSW for the 7th overall pick is gaining some momentum. No word on what players would move to match salaries.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 01:34 AM) EDIT: Oh s***, Weeds! Hell yes. People still watch that God-awful show?
  18. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 12:20 AM) Youkilis is Jewish? A Greek Jew? Is that possible? He's not Greek, his nickname is silly.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 08:32 PM) Why are you lying? His current OPS is. 670. Whoa! The season's over? Wow. I thought it was still June. Jeez, I'm clearly an idiot. Wow, it's 90 degrees in October!
  20. What's up with all the Kaplan hate? Everyone calm down and enjoy the fact that Kevin Youkilis at his absolute worst is a .680 OPS. WORST.
  21. Holy s***, White Sox get Youk for Stewart's busted ass and Lillyflower. Perfect!!!!
