  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 03:43 PM) What the hell. I just had a 14 pitch at bat, and 11 of them were in the strike zone. I was purposefully early on all of them to pull them foul. Ended up accidentally hitting the 14th pitch fair, so I never got the walk. See what I'm saying? I can't get a walk to save my life, even if I try to hit every strike foul. You don't get it. START GETTING HITS. YOU GET HITS THEN THEY ARE SCARED AND THROW BALLS.
  2. QUOTE (The Gooch @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) Really? How come? You realize you aren't actually replying to that guy, right? You need to get on a website called Twitter for that.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) It's probably the "love" triangle that goes on between her and the two other boys Yeah, that's it. The story is more "The Running Man" or "Ender's Game" than f***ign Twighlight. It's a cool book you can plow through in hours.
  4. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 12:51 PM) Gotcha. It just sucks that there are so many factors going against Keith in this one. Add all them up and it just doesn't bode well here. Whatever. Oduya, sadly, is the key in our system!
  5. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) @ChicagoBearscom #Bears RB Marion Barber has decided to retire from the NFL after 7 seasons. Wow. That certainly saves the Bears some cash. SPEND IT.
  6. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 12:10 PM) They sure can. I hate the Canucks like everyone else, but that was a clear headshot, puck never even touched, and in theory, retaliation. Elbows don't get that high on accident. It was pretty bad. Now obviously Sedin's hit earlier wasn't exactly clean and he got him high. But the retaliation aspect from that might lead Shanny to lean towards "premeditated" which ups everything. As does an injury. We're just going to have to live with the punishment, just hope it doesn't get into the playoffs. I know they can, I just meant that in a "holy s***" type of response.
  7. Yeah, Saturday can still play. He'd have looked great on the Bears.
  8. It's a business. Why does everyone care? Forte turned down big money last offseason, like an idiot. That was cash that would already be making money for him. I don't understand who f***ing advises these guys to pass on good contract offers. Was it f***ing CJ2K money? NO! And Forte didn't deserve that type of money. Idiot. He should have taken the deal. He passed on it, and he can STFU about unfairly being paid top 5 money this year.
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 10:51 AM) yeah, i suppose that's true. just seems like given all the kills this would have been a good R movie. Apparently it's really bloody and the UK made them edit out content to get a similar rating there.
  10. I'm down with him just staying away since Law Holmes is the best thing on air anyway!
  11. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 10:47 AM) Jay Zawaski - The way it's sounding, Keith might be suspended for the remainder of the regular season.... I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying that's what might happen... A star player was injured. I don't know if they cater to them, but they certainly ignore their history of d-baggery... I feel like the NHL wants to make an example of him. Ridiculous. I said, right after the hit, "2 games." I stand by that. This is getting out of hand. They can't suspend him that long.
  12. It's too bad to see Bobby regressing, both on the field and off the field.
  13. Bobby Jenks posted bail Friday after being arrested on five charges, four of which that were related to driving under the influence. According to Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal, Jenks was charged with one count of driving under the influence, three counts of driving under the influence and damage to property and one count of leaving the scene of a crash involving damage to property. The big right-hander dealt with lots of off-the-field issues during his minor league days but had been relatively well behaved since making to the majors. He was already slated to miss the first half of the season after undergoing two back surgeries.

    2012 TV Thread

CT is a monster. He'll carry Diem to victory if he has to...
  15. QUOTE (YASNY @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 09:45 AM) The only way I'd agree with this is if you are comparing their sophomore years of high school. It was a joke because SS2k5 said that.
  16. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 09:07 AM) I read the first book and i'm half way through the second and I agree, i'm not sure what the appeal is. They're fun reads and entertaining, but they remind me of those condensed stories you'd read in high school literature courses. Not sure how a movie, especially a pg-13 rated movie, has that much appeal. The Dark Knight was rated PG-13.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 22, 2012 -> 02:03 PM) he's arguably the second most important player on the team. Not even close.
  18. Derrick Rose is more week-to-week than day-to-day. F*ck, it's going to be awhile.

    2012 Book Thread

It most closely reminded me of Ender's Game.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 22, 2012 -> 10:58 AM) I think the Bears made the right business decision in not giving Forte a deal last year. They offered him a deal. It was a good one, too. He stupidly rejected it and gave up cash that could already be in the bank that he'll never make up.
  21. This also gives Forte zero leverage to consider holding out.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 22, 2012 -> 07:24 AM) 9-1-1 since the Oduya trade, all without #19. The team just needed a d-man who can start a rush. Thankfully, this dude is a lot cheaper than Campbell. Of course, the Hawks won't re-sign him, I'm sure.
  23. Wright is 5-10. Enough with the short guys. He's not even fast, either. No no no.
