  1. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) Happy Birthday, yo.
  2. If Dwight's opting in, the Nets immediately become desperate. This is where the Bulls find their partner for Pau. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=8yrgdrm add a multitude of picks going to New Jersey. Done.
  3. The absolute best part about that, if true, is how much it royally f***s the Nets who have done absolutely nothing right and did not deserve to become an instant contender.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) So Howard saying he is All In and opting in next season. DBAHO is fapping atm Dwight Howard reportedly told the Magic during a meeting on Wednesday that he will opt-in for the final year of his contract, keeping him with the franchise through the 2012-13 season. I'm actually rather happy for DBAHO and the NBA right now.
  5. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) Remember when the Bulls were hot after him and had to settle for Vinny? Funny how things work out for the best sometimes. They still wound up with Vinny del Negro. That was about as epic a fail as you can get right there.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 03:07 PM) The other thing I associate Chauncey (and George Karl) with is a pretty solid defense. Ditto Martin. Somewhat ditto Nene and Kleiza. Throw in JR Smith and we've covered most of that team. So basically, Melo needs to be paired with spotup shooters who can hit the 3 and also play defense, and big guys who rebound and play off of the ball. That's pretty rough. True. George Karl is obviously about 12 levels better than Mike D'Antoni.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 03:02 PM) In that case, is there any sort of team in the NBA where Carmelo can actually succeed? He would kill a passing PG by slowing the game down, he would kill a scoring PG by needing the ball in his hand himself, he would kill a team with a low post game by taking the ball out of the low post...it seems like the only way to structure a team where he could win is if the other 4 guys are there for defense and Carmelo is the only one who really provides offense (Funny, this sounds kinda like the team where he had the most success in Denver). He was pretty effective with Chauncey. That's because Chauncey could be an effective PG without needing the ball in his hands and was lethal from downtown.
  8. Let's just all agree that the Knicks are a poorly constructed team.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) Honestly, do you really think the problem with the Knicks right now is that Anthony and Amare aren't shooting enough? Something like this should never happen. Melo and Amare combine for 22 shots while Lin tosses up 5/18 with 6 turnovers. Never. Not once is this acceptable. Those two are legit All-Star calibre players solely for their scoring, while Lin was picked up off the scrap heap. It. Should. Never. Happen. When you don't have the personnel to run through the PG, and you have those two guys, and you can't adjust to a different game, then you have a problem.
  10. Meanwhile, Ray Felton And Jamal Crawford Have "Orchestrated A Mutiny" In Portland
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 02:14 PM) That'll put a dent in Lin's numbers. I must say, any coach that can't adapt his system to get Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire more shots than Jeremy Lin doesn't deserve his job.
  12. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) Per Adrian Woj: D'Antoni has resigned D'Antoni can thank Carmelo for that one.
  13. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) Not saying the bears knew or didn't know, but the only guy I trust less than Dan Bernstein is an unnamed source of Dan Bernstein This.
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) @dan_bernstein A #Bears source I trust believes they had no idea about the Marshall incident before the trade. Completely pantsed. Yup, and Kobe to the Bulls is a done deal. Bernstein's sources are hacks.
  15. Deng is playing tonight, while Rose and Watson are GTD.
  16. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 12:06 PM) @AdamSchefter Vikings reached agreement with former Seahawks tight end John Carslon on a five-year, $25 million deal. 11 million is guaranteed. Good to see the Vikings still don't know what they are doing. Oh man, John Carlson got paid.
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 11:50 AM) how do you know that is his plane? Just posting s*** I or someone else I know finds on the webs. However, it sounds like Mario's fiancee is headed to Buffalo, so we can probably strike him off the list.
  18. The plane that took Mario Williams to Buffalo? En route to the Windy City
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 10:55 AM) Josh, not Luke LOL can't believe I typed Luke. Well, I can, but still funny.
  20. Luke McCown is back. Cutler Campbell McCown Wow, the Bears, um, wow, um, they have depth at QB.
  21. Someone re-name this to "KyYle randomly names songs he likes THREAD".
  22. Per FOX Sports' Alex Marvez, Marshall's contract clause guaranteeing $6 million of his $9.3 million salary voids if he's suspended by the NFL. Given his long and sordid history of violence, that's a distinct possibility. Well isn't that an interesting little twist? The Bears could wind up with Brandon Marshall at $3.3 million.
