QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 11:45 AM) The fact that things like this are even news just shows how big of p*****s we are anymore. This.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 11:19 AM) I don't think kids should be cut from sports teams, at least not until jr high but I hate the idea of completely disregarding winning/losing. So you just limit registration? In many of these areas there are more interested in playing than can conceivably be deployed on a team.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 10:47 AM) Clearly you didn't read the article, so why bother posting? BECAUSE I CAN.

The title is mis-leading. 7-year-old Anna Kimball kicked off baseball team just because she’s a girl Should be 7-year-old girl Anna Kimball cut from baseball team because she's not as good as other players

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 08:47 AM) NBA refs making confusing and conflicting calls and non calls? Say it aint so This is accepted, but the best answer would have been NBA

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 08:27 AM) Plus it was a really, really, really obvious offensive foul on Griffin for clearing out with his off hand. Doesn't make the dunk itself less impressive, but something that obvious should be called. Pretty much every impressive Blake Griffin dunk has involved him using his off-hand to abuse the head of the other player. I'm not exactly sure why it's allowed.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 10:18 PM) Watching Joakim Noah attempt to play point guard is like sex in my mouth.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 03:37 PM) DKnobler DKnobler Rangers announce two-year extension for mgr Ron Washington

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 04:50 PM) It depends on what they want, do you want more talent or do you want more cap space. Im not Orlando, but personally Id want more talent because I can always deal with getting rid of cap. This is very backwards. Cap space in the NBA is a b****. Would I rather get some talent back that ensures I dive right into NBA hell (see an Orlando team without Howard but with Noah and other pieces from the Bulls and the rest of their trash), or do I want to clear cap space, suck balls, and prepare for a high draft pick with cash to burn?
-
I will say... things could be worse than having Derrick Rose + a bunch of cap space next offseason if you swing for Howard, get him, and then he leaves. You add his cap space and a presumed Hedo amnesty, and you're looking at tons of flexibility.

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) PK statue worthy? That seems like an easy one. I'd also like to see MB and possibly AJ. I'm down with PK and MB. The Buehrle one seems like a no brainer. Perfectos don't grow on trees.

Did anyone watch 'Luck' last night and have a review? I can't decide if I want to bother.

Unsurprisingly, this thread took off... Come on guys, the Magic would want Deng + Noah +, but now Deng is injured and they'd likely be a tad batty to take him (except they could perhaps shut him down and let him heal and at least they'd no long have Hedo). There's so many scenarios that need to be put into player here. The biggest, of course, is Dwight's willingness to re-sign in Chicago. Nowhere in that quote about "God wanting" bulls*** does it say anything about "God wanting me to re-sign". IE - if I get traded I get traded. Nowhere in there does Dwight say, "I would re-sign in Chicago if the Bulls traded for me." This really isn't news, and f*** Dwight Howard.

Of course.

Maybe we can get Alex Smith. He's one of the best.

2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 10:17 AM) I applaud Frank Thomas and his take on things. We as White Sox fans are really lucky. I wish he had a prominent role with the White Sox as an ambassador or with MLB offices as the public face of clean play. -
I, for one, am truly worried about Konerko's hip hindering his ability to run. He's nothing without his wheels.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Well look at this flip-flop. I'm trying to be semi-positive. lol. Too many straight, similar losses to the Heat. It makes me want to f***ing murder something.

I overpay, my idiot wife underpays and refuses to alter her payments... so I pay.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) And this is where I'll disagree. If Rose plays like he did today, they can beat the Heat, or atleast come close. They have nobody, not even LeBron, that can check him. He got anything he wanted and got to the line 14 times. That's no fluke. He can do that. And that's why I hate that he shoots so many 3's/long J's. Yup. And they lost. And Wade sucked. They can't hang.

Carlos Boozer is God damned worthless.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 07:16 PM) Meh. Again, I get the whole moral victory spin. The Bulls hung tough against a great team on the road without two key players. Then again, they still manged to lose this game with Wade, outside of a couple of fastbreak dunks, looking as bad as any player of his stature can possibly look (and it wasn't just Hamilton). It goes both ways. Well, forget all this "Wade played like s*** business"... that's the whole point of this Heat team. One guy can blow, but they still have another superstar ready to hit ridiculous shots. Seriously, I just relived last year's ECF. It is what it is... the Bulls can't hang with the Heat.
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 07:04 PM) All in all, when you consider our best man defender and 2nd best player was out This is not an excuse. If/when Luol suits up this season he'll be a f***ing completely worthless shadow of himself because he has a terrible, horrific, painful injury that has ruined him for this season.
-
I think it's time for even I, the biggest Bulls apologist and optimist, to realize that if the Heat want it the Heat will get it.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) Seeing the Prometheus trailer on the big screen yesterday got me all giddy. Hells to the yes. In other news, I FINALLY watched Moneyball last night and was bored out of my mind. Unsurprisingly, I knew absolutely everything that was happening and was going to happen and blah blah blah he never won s***.
