Cue debilitating arm injury. What an odd surprise. I still don't like John Danks. I still cannot explain why. I have never really liked John Danks. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 02:47 PM) I reckon their interest in shooting guards is rather low. Well, now maybe they do... Kobe Bryant has a torn lunotriquetral ligament in his right (shooting) wrist. We've never seen the word lunotriquetral before, but we do know that a torn ligament in a player's shooting wrist is not a good thing. Kobe won't play in Thursday's preseason game, and beyond that, his timetable is unclear. However, beat writer Kevin Ding believes that Kobe -- who practiced Tuesday -- will play through the injury in Sunday's season opener.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) If the Lakers have to move Gasol, why wouldn't they just take the deal that they were getting for him from Houston? I reckon their interest in shooting guards is rather low.

I don't believe that John Danks, 1 year from free agency, and heading towards his prime, would agree to a 5 year deal/54 million deal. He could clear 80-90, hell, even 100 million if he waits one more year. I mean, Mark Buehrle just got more than that for one fewer year. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) ALL IN: LAST YEAR WAS ACTUALLY MARK'S FAULT. Ha, yours is better. And Sergio; some of it was his fault apparently. -

Oh, and Tyson in a D'Antoni offense? ROFL

I find Tyson Chandler's ascent from overpaid, oft-injured glue guy to key to the Knicks making the Eastern Conference Finals this year to be truly laughable. It's Tyson f***ing Chandler, people. We all know what he is. I have never seen a player become so overrated so quickly. This is a guy who is a year removed from averaging 6 points and 6 boards. This is a guy who is always injured. It is laughable how much money he got, and more laughable that he's being considered one of the NBA's best centers all of the sudden.

QUOTE (PorkChopExpress @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 10:47 AM) If the report out of the Baltimore Sun is to be believed (which I saw on mlbtraderumors.com), then the O's certainly value Adam Jones more than some on this board. Supposedly the Braves offered Jair Jurrjens, Martin Prado and a prospect for Jones, and the O's didn't bite. That's like us offering Floyd, Quentin and a prospect. I think Jones is good, but not good enough to turn down that offer. Adam Jones is a lot like Alex Rios (pre complete fail). -
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 11:55 AM) Depends if Asik is ready to be starter, if he's not, no, if he is, I'll drive Noah and Boozer myself to O'Hare airport. Why would that matter? Gasol starts at center and Taj provides the D at power forward.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 11:50 AM) Hypothetical question: If the lakers asked for boozer + noah would you do it? That's tough. I'd likely pull the trigger, though.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 11:17 AM) Otherwise, I know she enjoys drinking wine so I was thinking about a classy, old style type of wine opener. Then a set of wine glasses and perhaps something else added in. Any suggestions? You know this broad better than us. The above sounds good. Get a wine topper, too.

The Lakers would be insane to even consider something like that.

Well, that certainly is a headline.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 10:01 AM) how has noah looked? Not really active on offense, but he had a bunch of blocks last night (5). He looks healthy.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 09:29 AM) What a difference one pre-season game makes huh? Kinda said the same thing after the first one... kinda said the same stuff all last season. Rip Hamilton was obviously an upgrade, that was never not my opinion. I just wanted the Bulls to aim higher this offseason. However, every game is must-watch, and I fully expect, if healthy, that the Bulls will show even better this year than last.

The White Sox are going to enter 2012 having only dealt Santos and neglected to re-sign Buehrle. Kenny is already planning his "f*ck you speech" to the world after the Sox win the AL Central. The only problem is... that won't happen. The team will plod away a few games under .500, but just close enough that trader Kenny needs to ship off the only pieces of young value we have for some vet he coveted 4 years ago (Vlad Guerrero, I'm sure), and we'll be watching another wasted season. This is why someone else should have been put in charge to navigate this rebuild.
