Lombardi: Jay Cutler Could Have Been MVP -
That would be quite the welcome to NBA hell, unless they flipped Wallace later for picks and went into tank mode.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) Jacksonville is on prime time again this week. I'm sure everyone is excited. What a joke. -
I would imagine this thread could be unpinned, as no one uses it.

Pennies make me angry. I'd rather have $0.00 than $0.01.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 10:27 AM) +1 And their leader is the scariest thing I've ever seen, even without makeup. He was f***ing fantastic in 'Lethal Weapon 5".

I need to stop drinking for awhile.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 09:24 AM) I can't help but think an army of penguins would be easy as hell to defeat. THEY CAN'T FLY AND WALK SLOW AS s*** ...but they had rockets on their backs.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 09:10 AM) Same here, that's why my post said exactly that. I read the first bit of comments here, then reread the article, and had an "oh, wait..." reaction. Yeah, if I'm Danks I'd probably find the right person to complain to at the Sun-Times.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 09:05 AM) I Matt Speigal. He might be the second biggest Jay Cowley hater out there. Depends on how you define "biggest". Based on sheer mass, he probably is the biggest.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 09:00 AM) As soon as I saw that you had the most recent post, I thought you'd be agreeing with mine. I am glad I did not disappoint.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 07:35 AM) This is actually a really impressive article. If you're not paying 100% attention, you'll think that the "He was back to the same old Coop" quote is directly attributed to Danks. It takes some nimble writing to pull off a crossup like that. Yeah, I mean, I would bet some of those quotes are cleaned up Ozzie quotes.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 07:13 AM) Let me make this easy. f*** Cowley. f*** Danks. f*** Danks' talentless brother. f*** Peavy. I like this one.
-
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 04:54 AM) the Nuggets (sleeper team this season IMO) I don't really see how this would be possible. They still haven't resigned Afflalo (but I imagine they will), however, Chandler and JR Smith being stuck in China doesn't help anything.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 08:59 PM) You should consider a screen name change. Youre disgracing a sacred name with your embarrassing basketball talk. He means Brian Jordan.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 08:39 PM) I'm taking Carlos Boozer with the first pick. NOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) lol. I'm looking at the roster and it's even less impressive than what I remembered. Unless you're saying the Bulls' roster is better? Nobody has clarified that. What? Of course this Bulls' roster is MUCH better than that Sixers' roster.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 07:53 PM) Who was the second leading scorer on that Sixer team? I bet you most people would have to look it up. Both teams were defensive-oriented and relied heavily on the scoring/playmaking of a guard. It's not a ridiculous comparison at all. Comparing this Bulls supporting cast to the 00-01 76ers supporting cast is basically telling the world you are basketball stupid.

Listen, J4L is a baiter. He says things to rile people up. The Knicks have less depth than last year's Heat, and obviously LeBron, Wade, and Bosh are way better than Melo, Amar'e, and Tyson. I mean, he just blatantly said Tyson was better than Joakim Noah, which couldn't be further from the truth. I will tell you what, there's a reason a guy like Tyson Chandler was continually given away by teams. There's also a reason the Knicks are never without an albatross of a contract. Hence, Tyson's signing, it felt odd for the roster to not have at least one "uh oh" contract. And Felix, I don't know that you can say the Bulls were "lucky" last year. They played with maximum effort for 82 regular season games. I do think they need to find that happy medium where they take the foot off the gas a bit so they can go toe to toe with a team like the Heat, where you have to be able to play balls to the wall for 48 minutes. They need to be smarter this year.
-
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 06:40 PM) I think they'll "improve" but it won't manifest itself in the standings. 62 wins is a lot, so it'd be hard to go up. I have to agree. 62 wins this season would set some sort of record.

New all-black alternate Heat jersey makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) Yes. With no legitimate additions, I expect at least semi-regression from the Bulls. Everybody knows they overachieved last year. I expect Rose to continue his natural progression. But where's the upside for the rest of the roster? The Knicks only had Carmelo for 25 games last year. And Tyson is a massive upgrade for them at C. Also, teams with the "youngest MVP in NBA history" can normally be expected to get better based on that fact alone. Also, when do we bring up Amare's knee?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Hamilton is goose dung. Marion brought athleticism, rebounding and versatility defensively. He could effectively guard 2's, 3's and 4's. Rip doesn't address a single need for the Bulls. Forget about the Heat. How are the Bulls better than the Knicks? Full year of Carmelo and the second best defensive C in the game > Boozer staying healthy, RIP. They don't have a single guard worth a s***. "Second best defensive C in the game > Boozer staying healthy" Let's just take that little snippet out, because of it's comical effect. Tyson Chandler last 5 years total games played (out of 410): 322 Carlos Boozer last 5 years total games played (out of 410): 329
