QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Dec 29, 2011 -> 06:18 AM) I must suck at nba2k. the only way i can drive to the hoop is if i run around long enough and a hole to the lane opens up. Also at least on my player mode i have a hard time getting assists, more likely my pass is a turnover or the guy either passes back to me or gets blocked. im stuck scoring 30-40 on mostly jump shots. Holding L1 or left bumper for one second calls for a pick and roll. That can open things up.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Dec 29, 2011 -> 12:07 AM) I read the synopsis. That is the most repulsive thing on the planet. That film makes me wish humans did not exist.

I am slightly intoxicated and watching Human Centipede 2 right now. This is what my mind does with all the holiday time off. I expect to be disgusted and oddly aroused the next 90 minutes or so. Full review to follow.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 28, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) I agree...I can understand the quality of play going down due to sore muscles and nagging injuries, etc. Just not lethargy or "tired legs." Not a valid excuse. Man, basketball is some grueling s***, especially for the starters. 3 nights in a row in the NBA would be exhausting to a marathoner's legs. The human body was not mean to start and stop and turn and jump and collide on a hard surface, let alone so many nights in a row. Basketball is easily the most exhausting of the 4 major sports. Hell, football there's a total of 11 minutes of action in a 3 hour game. Hockey players play on 45 second shifts and can glide with no effort at times. Fat people can play baseball. Give these athletes some credit. They are in amazing shape. However, "tired legs" on night 3 of back-to-back-to-backs in the NBA is going to be a given.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 28, 2011 -> 10:03 AM) So you are the 1% who didn't already know the story? Read the books, at least 'Played with Fire' and 'Kicked the Hornet's Nest'. They good.

The controls in 2k12 are much different. I'm not in love with the pro hop controls, but I have them down. I got flat down lethal with D-Rose in the second game of the shortened 58 game season (I cannot believe 2k is not releasing a patch to include the 66 gamer, those cheap f***s). Rose dropped 37 with 18 dimes, 5 boards, 3 steals and a block against the Suns. Suffice to say, he got the Jordan Player of the Game!

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 28, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) I'm not going to feel bad for these guys because they have to play 7 games in 11 days. No one asked you to; however, playing 3 games in 3 nights inherently means the quality of the game goes down. One day off, where you can get a full practice in and work on the kinks of the game simply makes you better, regardless if conditioning comes into the equation.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 27, 2011 -> 06:19 PM) 5 Bears in the Pro Bowl: Urlacher, Briggs, Peanut, Forte, & Corey Graham. Lance Briggs being in the Pro Bowl this year is a travesty. He's been terrible. And slow. Slow as s***. -
Oh hai internet. Two games, two bad starts. The Bulls should be 0-2. I am incredibly unconcerned.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 23, 2011 -> 11:49 AM) I know I didn't put in a list, but Vader is #1. I think time might be eroding exactly how much of a bad ass Darth Vader was to my generation and older. Joker raped and crippled Barbara Gordon. He blew up the second Robin. He's a ruthless murderer. It's not like he wasn't a dark, mean-ass dude. And he sure as HELL has a lot more to his story dating back over half a decade than Darth Vader's film career. For those holier than thous who find it so ridiculous that Joker is 1 and blame it all on Ledger, he'd have been my #1 regardless if that movie existed or not. He is a mean, mean dude.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 03:07 PM) keithlaw keithlaw Gio to Nats for Cole, Norris, Peacock, and Milone. Love this for Oakland. Oh yeah!??! Well we got f***ing Nick Swisher for him so THERE.

QUOTE (Real @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 07:46 AM) the prime years of a pro boxer are nearly identical to that of an MLB player (~25-26 in boxing), but that's another subject The prime is much closer to 27-30. -

QUOTE (Real @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 06:11 AM) He'll be 27 in april.. not exactly a spring chicken, but maybe your definition of a young athlete is different than mine His definition is clearly much closer to reality than yours. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 02:16 PM) I wonder how much of this is lock-out related with these injuries? To which "injuries" are you referring? Brook Lopez is a big dude, they get stress fractures. Kobe's injury was happening whether he had an extended preseason or not. Baron Davis's back is always an issue... I'm trying to think of any other big injuries, and can't.
-
Brook Lopez is possibly out for the season with a stress fracture in his foot that requires surgery. Sports Illustrated's Zach Lowe wrote on Twitter that he was told by a doctor who works with the Lakers that Lopez will need three to four months for healing and rehab, which would basically put him out for the entire season. You can scratch the Nets off of possible trade destinations for Dwight, now.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 07:44 AM) I have a friend who loves to make bets where he is getting odds. He offered to give me my pick of 4 teams to win the championship this year and he gets the field at 2:1 odds. 1) Is this a good bet for me? 2) If so, do I take the Heat, Bulls, Mavs, and Thunder or is there a team I'm missing? Take the bet, pick those 4, laugh at your friend in a few months.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) I've never been more entertained by ESPN...ever. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:7375752 The looks on Stephen A. Smith's face were freaking hilarious. I honestly almost posted this as it was one of the first times I truly enjoyed Screamin' A.
