QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:35 PM) Thunder You forgot the Knicks, bro. Remember? They are better than the Bulls. You were certain.
-
Once again I would like to point out that J4L stated the Knicks are better than the Bulls this year, yet I'm the one who gets called out in Gerry's signature (because I vastly underrated LBJ's lameness).

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 03:52 PM) Wow, what a steal for the Cubs. When I first saw tweets that the Cubs got Rizzo, I thought for sure the Padres had Garza......but Andrew Cashner??? Oh my god, Hoyer is a genius. yeah. hoyer.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) We don't know. If Danks turned down the deal he signed, he may have gone. The offer may have been a last ditch effort to keep him. I've learned to not speak in absolutes. Apparently Mr. Rosenthal should as well!

Ken Rosenthal is a dipsh*t.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 03:31 PM) What has he done? I see a GM who has set forth a plan and is acting on it... not making moves that say "rebuild" and "retool" all at once like someone else in the city.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) Anyone want to defend the return the Padres got for Gonzalez? Well, the official trade doesn't include the handjob given.

QUOTE (SouthSideTeacher @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 02:45 PM) yikes. I didn't know you were a lady. You are cool. Just tell this guy you want to watch the Bulls. If he's disinterested, you saved yourself from wasting time anyway.

QUOTE (SouthSideTeacher @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 02:31 PM) I've got a promising first date scheduled for tonight that i'm now trying to think of a way out of... I'd rather watch the Bulls. Has my fan-dom crossed over into something wrong, or do you guys deal with these tough decisions too? p**** > sports

QUOTE (3E8 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 02:10 PM) The PCL does inflate offense. League average OPS last season in the PCL was just over .800. Still, 1.056 is significantly better than the league. Part of the increase might be explained by his .371 BABIP. Lucky son of a b****.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) The difference between guys like Rose/Kobe and Wade/Lebron is astounding. I just cant imagine Rose/Kobe sitting on the bench in a 3 overtime game unless their leg needed to be amputated. What I found striking last night was that Wade/Lebron could have dressed and played, but they seemed more concerned about wearing college professor outfits and cheering on the sideline. At minimum youd expect them to dress and be ready just in case. Post of the Newmanium.

Theo = good. Wow, this is like an OOTP ripoff trade.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 01:12 PM) it's nice to see them making an effort to get back to being a class act franchise. I guarantee the White Sox were never not giving back with things such as this.

Great story, thanks for sharing.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:14 AM) I actually like Best Buy if only because they are the only place I know of that still offers 0% financing. I use that on nearly all my big-ticket purchases. As far as I know, that's not something I can get from Amazon. This doesn't sound right. I just returned a DVD to Best Buy last week with no problems at all. That quote was talking about software, not unopened dvds. I'd be hard pressed to find a place that happily lets customers return open software. That's been the norm for ages. That article about the fall of Best Buy was just b****ing about bad customer service. Next article that guy writes should be about the demise of Wal-Mart then. What an asshat. And I agree about the 0%. Also, is Amazon going to be able to show me the picture quality of HD televisions? There's no way I'd buy a tv online without seeing it vs at Best Buy who will pricematch anyway. That article was s***.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:02 AM) They're friends, and money. Simple answers. Yeah, exactly.

QUOTE (Nunnigan @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:03 AM) Thats still on? I watched it when it was on NBC before it was cancelled mid-season, and then on TNT when it aired the remaining episodes. I thought they put a nail in the coffin for that show afterwards. It was pretty decent. Starts same night as Justified. The first season on TNT was a huge success (bc it's a great show) and now they are adding Lucy Liu.

Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
Steve9347 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
This doesn't happen without it being run by Jay Cutler. I have a feeling he and Tice have had more than a few discussions on how they'd like to see things done in a non-Martz world. I expect to see Cutler's vast talents utilized moving forward. -
What a bunch of idiots these Penn Staters.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 10:34 AM) JayGlazer Jay Glazer Bears promoting Mike Tice to offensive coordinator, putting him in charge of run game and pairing him w a passing game coach. Tice is OC tho I don't hate this. It's better than losing Tice. -
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 10:28 AM) Yes and their goalie just happens to be one of the best in the game and who won the Vezina last year (and was also unstoppable in the playoffs) and their backup is a starter on almost every team. I can't see Thomas just lose it all of a sudden. Bruins play a very disciplined team defense as well which helps too. They are going to be very hard to beat for anyone especially with the added experience. Didn't say they will repeat, but they have a good chance barring injuries, one of the best post lockout shots to do it. Yeah, they certainly have a shot. I'm just saying, Tim Thomas has "lost it" before, and that's why Rask was set to be their starting tender entering last season. Of course, then Tim went on and was flat out nuts and stopped 94% of shots and is doing it yet again this year. Lord only knows. I just want the playoffs here. They are so much better than regular season hockey. Just keep Hossa healthy.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 10:24 AM) Did anyone watch the portland/lakers game last night? I always have loved watching portland play, but felton and wallace have made them a really fun team to watch. Add to that their great crowd and it was a really fun game. I watched the 2nd half, since the game was not on League Pass due to TNT having it nationally and the 1st half wasn't shown due to that awful Heat/Hawks game lasting forever... And yes, Ray Felt's fatass was moving the ball pretty well, and when Wallace is into the game he is really fun to watch. He was lights out last night. Kobe going down on his wrist looked like it hurt like a motherf***er. He's such a beast to keep playing.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 09:37 AM) Sucks for Castro. Even if he's innocent, he'll be guilty in the court of public opinion. Pffff. Only to morons who can't smell a starf***er when it's right under their nose. Listen, when the girl's argument is she "passed out" presumably from being wasted, it's hard to believe Castro would just get on top and start banging her. She was into it, and realized there's a good chance for cash.
