  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 12:12 PM) Cardinals fans are definitely on suicide watch. http://www.birdsonthebat.org/showthread.php?t=61173 As they certainly should be; LaRussa's done a fine job with that team, but the Rasmus situation has been a complete joke this year. His personal vendetta cost them a lot here. Secondly, the White Sox, had they prioritized winning baseball, could have had Rasmus for a similar sweetheart deal. There's no reason not to toss them Thornton and Reed and enjoy a future built around Colby Rasmus, Dayan Viciedo, Gordon Beckham, and even Carlos Quentin.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 11:46 AM) Wow, I take it back. I was reading something else. I thought Asher Wojciechowski was involved. As that is what I read at a Blue Jays site. Yeah, we dropped the ball here. I'm f***ing shocked. I'm taking a break from this team. Feel free to adopt my signature. This is a crock of s***. Where are you badger? I thought Viciedo had to be included? Jackson, Thornton, and Reed and this gets done.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 11:15 AM) So dealing Jackson for Frasor and Stewart isn't terrible, and when you couple that with getting out of Teahen's deal...I like it assuming we didn't add salary relief. In a vacuum, the deal is fine. I, however, feel the vacuum's bag is full of dust and s*** and maybe some cat vomit and needs to be f***ing changed. /weird metaphor
  4. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:44 AM) haha, man you need a drink. Calm the hell down Toronto is getting a could-be elite young outfielder for our f***ing property. I imagine a future built around Rasmus, Beckham, and Viciedo, and yeah, I'm f***ing angry.
  5. Toronto loves Kenny. We take their overpriced s***ty OF and then give them Colby Rasmus, basically. I'm done with the Sox for a bit.
  6. Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal Source: Money appears only holdup in 3-team deal that would send EJax to #Cardinals, Rasmus to #BlueJays. MORE #WhiteSox #tradedeadline #MLB End my f***ing life. We could have had Colby Rasmus.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:36 AM) You read this as "Chasing after the division"? Yes, clearly this one deal is what I'm referring to, and not the many, many awful deals that have cost JR piles of cash and lead to this final punting of value that is Edwin Jackson. Claim Alex Rios - big cash. f***. Trade Daniel Hudson - Get a known commodity in Edwin Jackson trying to force hand of Washington to trade you player you actually want in Adam Dunn. Claim MANNY RAMIREZ - one month. one homer. $5 mill. f***. Give away Edwin Jackson to get rid of another AWFUL, POINTLESS contract extension in Mark Teahen. This is just a very very very very very small segment of KW's persistent incompetence.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) Is tht because of a JR sell order? Yes.
  9. Obviously, it is time for Kenny Williams to go. This is the last straw in a long run of terrible deals of depreciating value as he continues to throw good players after bad to chase a championship in a division that is highly winnable year-in and year-out. This team needs an enema.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) We dont have the prospect to toss in. YOu can be Tor would be throwing in someone serious. It's been confirmed by multiple outlets that the Cardinals offered Rasmus to the Sox for Jackson, Thornton, and a spect. Now things have changed and Kenny's being forced to find a way to include Teabag, which is going to cost us Rasmus and anything legit in this deal.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:22 AM) The Sox arent trading any OF's there is absolutely no need to call up De Aza if its for this deal. It would be an arm that would be most important. They have him in the lineup today, something HAS to happen by 1.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:21 AM) You dont know that. Would you deal Floyd for him? In a heartbeat.
  13. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:21 AM) Wow so now everyone is in love with Rasmus? I remember a bunch of people saying his was Rios 2.0. Now were screaming at Kenny because he may not want him? Hey. I've been consistent in my love and praise of his tool set and future studness.
  14. I swear to God. I love Rasmus so f***ing much, and we're going to help him go to f***ing Toronto.
  15. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:09 AM) If they flip him for Rasmus... I'll be done. I'll officially be done.
  16. SI_JonHeyman Jon Heyman Edwin jackson would help #cardinals. 3-team trades are tough. If jays gm alex can pull one off, hats off to him. If the Jays land Rasmus with our player I will be done, however.
  17. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:00 AM) I would like to see the Sox go very young, like the Tampa Bay Rays. So you want two decades of suck?
  18. cst_Cowley cst_Cowley So Toronto dumps a solid reliever to get a bad third baseman and a starter that is done in two months, plus they give a prospect? Interesting take... and probably honest. It's hard to look at this deal in a vacuum and not constantly think of Daniel Hudson. Also, the BS (I called that from the get-go) idea that St. Louis would move Rasmus with Jackson as the main piece also got us all hopped up on crazy. However, the deal is fair as stands, and rather dumb for the Jays if it happens.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:48 AM) This could maybe indicate there is a 3-way deal, or a conditional 2 trades, in the works. Yeah, maybe we can get Daniel Hudson out of it. I hear that Edwin Jackson is worth him and another prospect.
  20. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:43 AM) This is one trade in which I will hate Kenny for off the bat and disagree with right away. I think it's an awful move considering starting pitching is a premium and the big spenders want it. Simply godawful trade. I can't really blame KW. When your boss says "cut payroll", you do it. It's unfortunate JR was more worried about pulling a huge profit this year than landing a stud player.
  21. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) Ha.. no chance. I know. Hence anger.
  22. QUOTE (Anderson Cooper's Quivering @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:32 AM) We should check Teahen's twitter. *shrug* Or remove that complete waste from my list of following.
  23. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:31 AM) It's funny because if all of the sudden it turned out we were getting a nice young prospect back it would be pretty cool, but it's not even worth considering that that would happen Brett Lawrie is the only name that would make me less than dissatisfied.
  24. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:28 AM) Lance Berkman hurt his shoulder last night. Even IF Rasmus was going anywhere before that, he likely isn't now. My dad will be elated. Trading Rasmus would have been absolutely an terrible move for the Cardinals.
  25. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:28 AM) Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal Sources tell @jonmorosi that #WhiteSox-#BlueJays deal is close. Jackson, Teahen to TOR. Frasor-plus to CWS. Money could be in deal. #MLB I hate the world.
