It looks like I'll be pre-ordering Arkham City through Best Buy, as that's the only way to land Robin as a playable character in the Challenge maps.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) It will regress after people get used to it being around, like anything else. Nah. One thing people never get tired of is talking about themselves.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) Working sucks, but the money doesnt. PLus you have much more freedom as you get a job, a new place and move on. The mid 20s are pretty awesome. Preach. It's a lot of drinking and partying and working out and having the money to actually enjoy it.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:45 AM) That's not my problem. I didn't say anything outlandish or vulgar.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:36 AM) How is that unrealistic? People come out long after the fact they realize they're gay or simply hide it because they don't want to be scrutinized. My vision of gay men? That's my point. I don't want that vision. Your vision that they'd somehow want to put on a public display for you, that they'd want you anywhere near them while they are having sex, that they'd woop it up anymore than a man and a woman, it's just ridiculous. You come off as someone who learned everything they know about gay people from South Park.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) It's not being naive and ignorant. Naive and ignorant would me be saying all gay people are disgusting and need to be shot. All I simply said was that I'd be ashamed if I brought a son into the world only to find out later he was gay and that I wouldn't want to be anywhere in the vicinity where gay sex was occurring. But you'd want to hang out in the room while heterosexual sex was occurring? You are being ignorant, just not to the degree that you think qualifies as being labeled as such.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) If me not wanting to be present (under the same roof) when two guys are slobbin' each other's knobs and hittin' each other from the back means I have a problem, then so be it. To me, that's not at all the same as me simply verbally or even physically attacking someone who was gay or not wanting to go anywhere near someone that was gay. Hey, at least you finally admit it. The problem isn't that you don't want to be around while people are having sex, it's the fact that those two people being of the same sex is the deal breaker that makes it quite obvious that you have a problem with homosexuality. Really, your scenario is rather unrealistic, and your vision of gay men is ludicrous.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 10:36 AM) He said in the Trib today that The Twins are always built to win the AL Central and not the World Series, while the Sox are always built to win the World Series and not the AL Central. If there's one thing this White Sox team screams at me, it's "built to win the World Series". Yeesh.

Poll: Viciedo, De Aza, Milledge and Danks

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 09:38 AM) Um...one of the 3 minor leaguers in the list put up an .840 OPS last year. Come on now, man. You can't expect that over a full season from someone as raw as Viciedo, regardless of how well he's raking in AAA. You have backup QB syndrome. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:13 AM) I thought this got locked? Anyway, yeah, I don't have a "problem" with gay people. Let's put it this way. If I had a roommate and maybe a year or so down the line I found out he was gay, I'd be cool with it. As long as, of course, he realized that I don't swing that way. I would say I'd have to leave whenever he had a guy over. That would just gross me out. To know that there are two dudes gettin' it on in the room next door to me. Sorry if that sounds insensitive. Just bein' honest. Clearly you do have a "problem" with gay people. You just f***ing said it.

I watched "Wall Street 2" on Sunday night. If Oliver Stone could stop himself from pushing his own agenda in films, they'd be much shorter and much better. All in all, it was pretty rushed and pretty dumb, which is unfortunate with such great acting throughout. In fact, I actually enjoyed the movie despite the bad storytelling and jumbled screen graphics simply because of the brilliant acting jobs done by Shia LeBeouf, Michael Douglas, James Brolin, and Michelle Williams (though too much crying for her, I guess simply because she's good at it).

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 09:59 AM) Then where do you draw the line? If they have a bunch of tattoos? If they are huge nerds? If they are loners? Are all of those worthy of disowning? I just find it interesting that a poster who claims he was depressed and thought about eating a bullet wouldn't want his future child to share depression with him to avoid those same feelings (as well as say, possibly loving someone of the same sex... FOR SHAME!) Jeez, have sex with and love whomever you want, people. Just be safe. Oh, and don't kill anyone.
-
QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) I didn't tell my father that I suffered from depression and almost shot myself in the head because I didn't want to bring shame to him. That's not fear; that's respect for your elders. If my kid's gay, I'd rather he not tell me so I never have to know. It'd be the respectful thing to do. LOL, enjoy never knowing your child then.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 07:17 PM) I have no problem with gay people. But my son? Sorry, I'd be embarrassed and ashamed to know that my son was takin' it in the booty. Sorry to be so cynical. This is such an ass-backwards statement. Clearly, you do have a problem with gay people.
-
QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 06:37 PM) I'm not allowed to be disappointed if my son is gay? Would you not be disappointed? I think most red blooded men would be. Doesn't mean we'd show it, but are there people out there who actually want a gay child? I'd be of the mind that if my kid is being smart, not hooked on meth, and leading a productive life, he or she can choose whatever sexual orientation they want and it would honestly not affect me in the least. My future child, whenever that happens, can choose whatever life he/she wants to lead.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 09:26 AM) And they had to cut dollars. They didn't have a choice. They couldn't shop around and wait for a good deal to come along. The cap mandated moves had to be made that didn't involve getting salary back. Exactly. I f***ing loathed Steeger when he was here anyway. I don't think there was a player those few seasons leading up to the Cup that I yelled at the TV more to just shoot the puck. He drove me batty.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 09:32 AM) Come on. Like that means anything anymore. Also, Derek Jeter won a gold glove last year! Ok, he has an inconsistent .850 OPS, which is easily way better than any of those minor leaguers can be expected to produce in the bigs anytime soon. -

How'd Quentin get brought into this? The f*** might be inconsistent, but he's an All-Star. -
LOL, the HR derby is trash.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 12:46 AM) Moved out of my college apartment yesterday. Lived there for 3 years. Also had to say goodbye to my best friend who is moving to Georgia. Horrible, horrible day. C'est la vie. You are in for a lot of change coming up. Best of luck to you as you move into "adulthood". It's an adjustment.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) Curb was hilarious. Teaching her how to use a tampon, epic. Yes, it was great. I like the whole Dodgers ownership storyline as well.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 09:06 AM) Bane is gonna break Batmans baaaaaaaaaaack I wonder if we'll see blonde, metallic Batman replacement, haha. I loved that whole storyline way, way too much.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 04:24 AM) There's one thing to get a "salary dump" and still get good pieces for a solid, young, cup winning player (Buff/Eager trade was fantastic) and there's another to get what the Hawks got for Versteeg. (and to make it worse, Toronto turns around and deals him for a 1st and a 3rd rounder) Byfuglien was, and should have been, much higher regarded than Versteeg. Getting rid of Steeger had to be done at any cost. I don't fault Bowman one bit for getting a shoddy, albeit cheap return for him.
