QUOTE (WCSox @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 09:49 AM) You have to purchase the Sports Tier, which is an extra $6/month. That may only be an option with Expanded Basic, though. Can't remember. BTW, the Sports Tier also has the NFL/NHL/NBA/Big 10 Networks. Well worth the money, IMO. Actually, the Sports Tier is not required. At least right now, as long as you have digital cable, the following come with your package (I know, because I don't pay for the Sports Tier. NBA TV Big 10 Networks MLB TV The sports tier includes all those s***ty fox sports channels, the NFL Network, and the NHL Network.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 10:06 AM) My guess is Terry Porter gets fired after the season anyways, and they go for either JVG or Thibodeau. Rasheed Wallace would give them a huge expiring contract though, and Detroit will probably add Amir Johnson and a 1st from what I've heard. If I'm Kerr, I'm holding out for Wallace and Stuckey though. Pistons aren't trading Stuckey.

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 12:15 AM) Those new shows on MTV last night have reached a new low, utter crapola I enjoyed Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, basically because it was just Rob & Big with Lamar Odom replacing Big. Other than that, I don't watch MTV. My wife will sneak in an episode of the Hills, Real World, or that RW/RR competition, and I make fun of her until she's guilted to switching to Jon & Kate Plus 8, which makes me cringe as well.

I'm done with this team if that's the price it takes to get Amare and they balk. We give up basically one piece of worth in a streaking Tyrus Thomas for the best post scorer in the game who is 26... Seriously. If it comes out that that report is true, and the Bulls pass to hold onto this dogs*** core, I am officially done until both Pax and Vinny are fired. I never thought I'd say that.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 04:41 PM) Perhaps the Suns really think they can win this year and therefore are still looking for pieces that can play with Shaq and Nash? If that's the case, the Detroit offer is the best, but they'd be idiotic to think they could keep up with the big boys.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 04:33 PM) Clearly the idea would be to cut him immediately. Personally, if I'm getting Beasley in the offer, and that cap space it's a done deal. So either that offer was complete BS or as you stated Amare ain't goin' nowheres.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 04:21 PM) If they turned down an offer like that, then first of all they're crazy, and secondly Amare won't be moving. Unless they saw the re-acquisition of Marion as a PR nightmare?

QUOTE (Texsox @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 11:40 AM) Just wondering, how many here have taken a film studies class and what did you think? Also, which department was it taught in? Of course. I took a few, and it depends on the professor and how dedicated he/she is to film. I personally enjoyed them. It was Communications.

Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist was a highly enjoyable film. It wasn't a masterpiece, but it was definitely enjoyable and one that I'll watch again.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 10:29 AM) John Toews is stunned and Patrick Kane just high sticked your ass. And yet, in the end, at this portion of their careers, Havlat when healthy is a more talented player. That's just the truth.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 11:08 AM) Steven A. Smith reported a couple weeks ago that Bosh told Torotno he won't be re-signing with them in 2010. There's also another way the Bulls could make a run at Bosh; clear a little bit more cap room for 2010. Or, make the run at Amare, offer him the contract he deserves as an extension and let he and Rose take over this town... and then laugh at all the other teams that fail to sign Bosh/Lebron and have a nice base for a championship.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 09:51 AM) Basically, if the Bulls want either Amare or Bosh, they're gonna have to give up TT, Noah, Gooden and a 1st. John Paxson has got to decide whether or not he's willing to do that. Fired if he's not. Boycott continues if he's not.

QUOTE (Elgin Slim @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 08:04 PM) Manny is probably a juicer. I was watching a special in 2006 called "Flamethrowers" in which they showed every No-Hitter/Perfect Game since 1980.I was watching Jim Abbott's No-Hitter,and it was Manny's rookie year. One of the things that stood out to me is the Sosa-like transformation of Manny's body. He was about as skinny or skinnier than Sosa was on the Sox. That's a pretty solid base to build on... I don't see how you guys can say this stuff. When I was 20 I was like 155 lbs. Most people are small when they are young, and bulk up through their 20s, and then start adding weight to that bulk in their 30s. You can't assume that EVERYONE who gets bigger over the course of their career is a cheater... that's a bad idea. Manny's entire head didn't jump sizes like others. Sure, there's a lot of hair and image there, but I haven't seen Manny implicated yet, and his transformation wasn't unbelievable.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 04:35 PM) When I read Canseco's book right when it came out, everyone I knew said I shouldn't believe a word of it. It seems like the guy is proven to be right again and again, and yet nobody apologizes to him for telling the truth (because he did it for the money), when they had no problem smearing him constantly when he first released it. I now think it wouldn't be that bad for Pujols to go down soon. That way, Thomas, Thome, and Griffey are basically the only 90's sluggers that wouldn't have been caught or suspected. All played for the White Sox and did it clean...that would be a great story. How would Pujols being implicated change that? RoY in 2001

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 07:03 AM) If Paxson somehow pulls off Stoudamire, does he go from Pariah to Savior a la Danny Ainge? Yes. The slate will be wiped clean in my book. The boycott would be over and i'd be jazzed about this team's chances for the future. As for this Portland to Phoenix talk, they've already openly stated they are not trading Aldridge.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) I really don't see anyway we can get Amare without giving up Deng OR Thomas. Frankly, IMO anyone but Rose can go for Amare, none of these guys are exactly elite. You don't get the chance to get someone as talented as Amare that's still in his prime very often, and the team getting the star pretty much ALWAYS gets the better end when all is said and done. Give them Tyrus. Are people really wanting to keep Tyrus after a couple of hot games? THIS IS EXACTLY THE TYPE OF RUN WE NEEDED TO BE ABLE TO MOVE HIS SH*TTY ASS!!! Hold onto Deng: he, Amare, and Rose is a very nice threesome to build around.
