  1. well, 2 of those balls were strikes, jim joyce, thief of perfect games
  2. who do i root for tonight, indians or tigers?
  3. Given that the Sox will upset Texas in the ALCS and win another world series in '12, I think fans will find a way to make it.
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) Borchard was a sweet guy.
  5. Gavin needs to be fixed. Nice streak, let's start another tomorrow.
  6. Our turn for a walk off
  7. 1 game back of Texas for best record in the AL. Winning streaks do wonders.
  8. the first no hitter in mets history - hard to believe
  9. paid attendance, 19,168. not good.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 06:29 PM) Physical errors happen. Mental errors should not. AJ's was both mental and physical and regardless, doesn't excuse him being a prick.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) I hope that wasn't a straight steal. Bad baseball especially with that shot
  12. AJ can be quite the prick sometimes
  13. It shouldn't have mattered, AJ should've caught it. Not the 1st pop up he's screwed this season
  14. f***ing AJ, don't yell at Hudson, you're the one who f***ed up
  15. Johan with a no-no thru 7, but he's thrown 107 pitches. Intriguing.
  16. Alex had his pitch to hit
  17. interesting K race going on between Verlander and Dunn
  18. I don't know what the weather will do to tonight's attendance, but my hope is that the streak brings out the casual fans. Like independents in an election, they make all the difference for a team like the Sox.
  19. Weird but I never knew it wasn't always painted white on the outside. I only went there as a kid and that last picture on the bottom looks about right in my era. Any of you guys ever sit out deep in the upper decks in left or right center? I thought they'd be terrible seats when in fact they were pretty damn awesome. Couldn't always see a ball hit to the wall in CF, but loved the view.
  20. And given some of the turnarounds we've seen, isn't it possible that Morel, healthy, could somehow start to produce? One can hope. Then we just need to pick up Geoff Blum by the trade deadline and all will be well, because there's no chance in hell of winning it all without Blum.
  21. I voted the max # of times. Which also means Morel now has 25 votes, all from me.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 31, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) I still think Youkilis makes a ton of sense for us. He's been playing extremely well lately and shouldn't cost a ton of talent due to his contract situation and the presence of Middlebrooks. I know there are some health concerns with him, but I'd be willing to take that risk for a player of his caliber. Plus you'd be able to give Morel a half season at AAA and better determine if he should be the starter next year. I guess the question becomes the cost.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 31, 2012 -> 12:51 PM) Finding a good SS would mean getting rid of Peralta or moving Peralta to 3b, which then moves Cabrera back to 1b/DH, Fielder to 1b/DH, and benches Avila or VMart when he returns. Peralta's their SS. The only way he can move somewhere else is if one of those guys is on the DL. Well that's exactly what they're talking about doing, moving Peralta to 3b (where he's probably better suited anyway) and there's no guarantee that VMart is back this season.
