  1. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) I'm guessing the twins might put up a 20 spot on the Sox today. Winner, winner...
  2. I'm guessing the twins might put up a 20 spot on the Sox today. Well, so long for now. I'll tune back in to see how Floyd does.
  3. won't it be nice when the 2007 season is finally laid to rest
  4. I'd forgotten how pathetic the sox look when matched against a real baseball team.
  5. SOMETIMES I GET PHYSICALLY ILL WATCHING THIS TEAM. Is that on Razor or JD?
  6. I recognize that guy on the mound. Haven't seen you in awhile, Judy.
  7. QUOTE(vandy125 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 11:48 AM) I'll bet that we get an absolute crapload of complaints about Fields' glove this year because we are all used to a defensive 3rd baseman of Crede's caliber. Fields just cannot do that. Who really can? good point. Hawk is so clearly over Jerry Owens. As am I. Damn that was a big run left at 3rd.
  8. QUOTE(vandy125 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 11:36 AM) Yep, time to give up on Fields. He has played how many seasons so far? Clearly, he has established a bad track record I'm just guessing, but I think he's suggesting while Fields bat might be ready for the majors, his glove is not.
  9. sox are 11 games out in the loss column. twins were 10 games out in the loss column this time last year.
  10. I was watching with the volume down - did something happen between Uribe and Buehrle after Juan's dinger?
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:28 AM) It is hard to believe. Coop is dead on, look at his mechanics, he gets absolute no leg drive and he dicks around and really has nothing over the top anymore cause he pretty much stopped throwing over the top. which is why he could turn it around and be a valuable commodity for someone in a playoff run (omar, pick up the phone)
  12. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:18 PM) Theo Epstein > The log I just pooped out (oh, the wonders of wireless internet) > Kenny Williams I don't remember you being this humorous.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:39 AM) I'd say package him with Dye but even than all you get is Milledge and at that point I'd probably rather just take the 2 draft picks for Dye (although maybe I'm wrong) and hope someone gives up a a couple mid-level guys and the Sox dont' have to give up any dough for Jose. With his last couple performances his value is dropping again (the thing is I think he could still be a dominant pitcher, his mechanics are just shot to hell right now). I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him have a dominant second half. It's happened before.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 07:16 PM) The turning point of this season was blowing that game on Monday. As weird as that sounds with all the other losses, I agree with you. It seemed like they were trying so hard to turn a corner and then the pen blew up yet again. You can't hide a zit as ugly as the Sox bullpen.
  15. You can say a lot of things about KW, but he's not stupid. This is obviously such a good deal that you can't help but wonder if he genuinely wants to sign him. Secondly, the NTC issue almost makes you wonder if he doesn't want to sign him on the cheap then turn around and trade him (but I can't believe he would survive such a devious move).
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 10:07 AM) Say what you want about him, but he is one of the best OLB's in the league and has always played his butt off every season in Chicago. he's overrated. Urlacher makes him better than he is. He looked like crap in the superbowl. Bears should've traded him to Washington when they had the chance.
  17. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 12:52 PM) *yawn* Paris Hilton serves more time than Scooter Libby. What a country. As governor of Texas, Bush oversaw 152 executions. Not once did he find the sentence "too harsh."
  18. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 11:47 PM) Once again, Javy is pitching better than he has in years. He finally looks like he may be fulfilling what we thought he could be.... This is such a shame- our top 3 are absolutely playoff-caliber pitchers right now.... so true. To think what might have happened last season if these guys pitched like this....
  19. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 11:18 PM) I was watching the Dodgers and Braves game tonight, it got me thinking, where's our James Loney, Matt Kemp, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Yunel Escobar, etc. With that being said, I am very depressed right now. Hey, at least we signed/are going to sign some big time latino talent! oh wait... with a trade maybe one or more could be ours! But you're right, the dodgers are LOADED with young talent. On another note, Sox starters are having a great season.
  20. QUOTE(GreenSox @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:00 PM) I guess you missed the 70s and most of the 80s. As a kid, August of '77 was a major bummer after the run they made in July. And I still don't like to talk about the '83 playoffs. But I don't remember a WS championship in either of those decades.
  21. It's a shame any American would not be outraged over this, or the fact that Libby's actions were tied to revealing the identity of a CIA agent, all part of an orchestrated effort to mislead the American public into war.
  22. what a sham of a team and a season. for the first time in several years i can't wait for football to start.
  23. i was hoping AJ might get a good at bat following those terrible appearances yesterday. Too bad he didn't get a day off.
