  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 16, 2014 -> 02:33 PM) No, I just forgot he was from Shorewood. From your place ND is closer than ILL, its about 90 min. The fact that he's spoken to Michigan though kind of makes almost every school in range as thats about 4 hours or so away if not more. Yeah, if Michigan is in this, distance isn't going to be much of a factor at all, especially when talking about the Illinois schools or ND. We have any idea on a timetable for a decision?
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 16, 2014 -> 02:29 PM) So who are we rooting for tonight? Home ice is always nice, as is not having to fly to CA tomorrow, but I really think the Kings are a better team and they worry me more. It's gonna be a tough series regardless the opponent of course. Both good teams, I really can't favor playing one of the other at this point. At times I agree and think the Kings are the better team, but the Ducks were obviously great during the regular season and have a ton of talent, especially up front. If the Ducks were having a ton of goaltending problems I'd lean their way, but Gibson has been filling the void right now. Because though Quick wasn't great last year, I think more highly of him than most and can steal a series. He does scare me. Tiebreaker for me is home ice (especially if it gets to a game 7) and not having to travel, so I'll go Kings. But, whatever happens, happens and I don't have a huge rooting interest one way or another on this one. Let's have it go 4 OTs (you can stay up since it's not a weekend night!). And then they run into snow on the way into Chicago and can't land for a while. And they are barely awake at 2pm Sunday for Game 1. Of note and something possibly lost in the shuffle here, you may or may not be watching Teemu Selanne's final game tonight. So I'll try to appreciate it from that perspective regardless of outcome.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 16, 2014 -> 01:24 PM) Doesnt make it any less true. The Big Ten thing is interesting, looks like NW or ILL and I'm not clear if he had the grades to get into NW. But you're sitting here arguing distances in relation to the recruitment and how it might impact it, then throw in that ND is also closer than Illinois, as if it's actually relevant when it's a ridiculously low difference. It's irrelevant at that point. That will have 0% basis on where he goes. If he comes out and says "I picked Notre Dame over Illinois simply because on a good day it's 5 minutes closer to Joliet," I'll eat my hat. I'm guessing you didn't realize Champaign wasn't THAT far down state. Hell, as was pointed out earlier I'm guessing the distance between NW and Champaign is almost irrelevant when you consider the drive. They're probably all one in the same at this point and he'll go based on fit.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 16, 2014 -> 11:19 AM) Also closer than Illinois. I forgot to add ND in there. I like him as a back, but I dont think he's a future star. Closer by what, 5 miles. That doesn't make any difference in the grand scheme of things here. Is it likely we get him no, but in the mix, you have a shot. We have Ferguson plus he said he's looking at BT schools in the area. Not sure ND is a fit if he's concerned about playing time.

  6. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 16, 2014 -> 08:49 AM) Nice call (although not entirely shocking) boys. Lee Corso says not so fast my friend. Shero out, Bylsma still there, new GM to decide on coaching staff.
  7. Manziel texted Browns "hurry up and draft me" http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10940453...-hurry-draft-me
  8. Anyone else stay with The Blacklist the whole way through? Season finale was Monday, thought it was pretty damn good.
  9. Lucic is a talented meathead that got what was coming to him. He was classless, that isn't the place to settle scores. You don't have to play nice, but you can play "not be a dick in the handshake line." Sore loser much? All of Boston can take the loss with class (or can they?) and go away already.

  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 15, 2014 -> 11:20 AM) Last year in LA they started at 8:00 CT, so I imagine the same would happen this year. Yup, especially with no other series to compete with on the same night for TV (in theory).
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 15, 2014 -> 10:38 AM) This doesnt work for you? Ridiculous. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 15, 2014 -> 10:44 AM) Who returns for the Hawks first? Shaw or Kim Johnsson? Montador.
  13. Also, Lucic is a clown. There's zero defending his antics in line.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 15, 2014 -> 05:34 AM) And????? I can't handle the suspense! Ducks won, so game 1 is actually Friday night at 11:00pm CDT QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 15, 2014 -> 09:24 AM) ESPN Chicago ‏@ESPNChiHawks 32m Quenneville says on WGN 720 he expects Shaw to play at some point in Western Conference final. Shaw expected to skate today or tomorrow. This may or may not mean Shaw had a leg amputated.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 14, 2014 -> 10:07 PM) Yeah, yeah, whatever. That's too much thinking going on late at night. The rookie is gonna want that goal back, ouch. Come back in the morning, I'll let you know who wins.
  16. QUOTE (zenryan @ May 14, 2014 -> 09:23 PM) If it was then all of twitter missed it minus about 10 people. Seems like Dan Bernstein is the one pushing hard for it to be a banana. Maybe it was which would be sad, maybe it was a yellow rally towel they give out that was tied in a knot. No one has to push hard for anything. If it's a banana it's a banana. I'm sure someone will have a video/screen shot sooner than later, and I've seen a few people say it's for sure a banana. It's one thing to be a twitter idiot, it's another to throw that on the ice.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 14, 2014 -> 09:03 PM) This LA - Anaheim series is killing me. They keep switching off white and black jerseys and every game it takes a while to remember who is who. There's a giant logo at center ice.
  18. What, no Jeff Keppinger appreciation thread yet?
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 14, 2014 -> 11:05 AM) Keep an eye out for his jeep in the west loop and see how he's walking. He drives a black wrangler unlimited, loves that starbucks. Or keep an eye out for wheelchairs rolling down Madison. But yeah, could really use him back. Figuring out who to dress for the last 4ish forwards has been a disaster, especially when they can't be trusted to eat up minutes. Going against the LA Kings for the Anaheim Ducks of LA, you can't really get away with playing 2.5 lines for a a lot of the game.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ May 14, 2014 -> 10:52 AM) I'm talking gut feeling. A yahoo article said he should be back any day now, and I thought how in the hell would they know. I think 75% he's out for playoffs 20% he's back for game 3-4 this series, 5% his leg was amputated out for career. My gut feeling says no, it's a fairly significant injury we'll learn about after the season, but for now they'll just keep saying day to day because maybe there's a small chance he can dress at some point, especially if they are playing 3 or 4 weeks from now. Unless I missed something, I haven't seen where he's been skating at all. Maybe really late this series or praying to have him ready enough to play in the SCF if they get there?
  21. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 14, 2014 -> 10:34 AM) So between Joakim Nordstrom and Peter Regin playing well, hopefully we don't have to look at Bollig the rest of the playoffs. I'm sorry what? Nordstrom is brutal. But you can slot Regin in. Or #freemorin. QUOTE (bmags @ May 14, 2014 -> 10:36 AM) Do people think Shaw will actually come back or do you think he's out for playoffs? With the Hawks, he could be deceased and they'd still call it day to day. No good information coming out. It wouldn't surprise me if he was out the whole playoffs, even if they say "day to day" and now "closer to being day to day"
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 14, 2014 -> 06:27 AM) So yeah, I made the mistake of watching the 3rd period on in bed and may have missed the Kaner goal. #lifeishardat31 Nice prediction though! Bring on a Southern Cal team and more post 8:00 puck drops! Yeah, never watch in bed, that's just asking for it at that point. Hell, I watch all OT's and any close/late 3rd period standing up.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 14, 2014 -> 10:17 AM) That client's a f***ing idiot. They could not play more different styles of hockey. Overall, correct. But Q's lineup decisions, as well as watching the game, pointed to the Hawks trying to play the Wild's style of game in game 3 for sure, and a lot of 4. The speed game? The puck possession game? It didn't exist. Obviously, it didn't work and didn't make any sense. But, I'm sure the client wasn't smart enough to bring up that in his argument, because besides those games, yeah, they are different styles.
  24. No, people with Beckham hate realize he's a bust and want someone else there, it has nothing to do with Semien.
