  1. Not saying I told you so, it is just a matter pf putting pieces together: Trump openly says he is negotiating to buy a team. He also says that it is worth $250 milllion. Trump is developing big time in Chicago. Also he loves baseball. The Sox are worth $250 milllion and now we hear that Jerry and his group may be looking to sell. FYI I posted that the Sox were about to sell their naming rights last November and that is exactly what they did. Business sense says he sells now with the park updated and the deal with Comcast coming in. Now is the time for him and his group to get the most for the team.
  2. Many of you thought, I was crazy-- but with the big buzz now being that Jerry may sell the Sox, it seems like this could happen. And for all of you who said it was the Nets-- they weren' sold to Trump. We may soon be getting a real owner.
  3. BUT would the owners approve him? Remember our owner should really be DeBartolo. But they were afraid he would spend too much money.
  4. But Trump is a big baseball fan. He is trying to branch into Chicago. And, why would Krause sign with the Yankees rather than the Sox unless he was told there might not be a job here for you soon. Hey it may be a pipedream but it sure is fun talking about By the way the Mets are worth $450 million and Yanks $750 million.
  5. Donald Trump in an ESPN interview said he is negotiating presently to buy a sports franchise worth $250 million. It couldnt be the...nah wishful thinking. But isn't the Sox franchise worth that. Now that would be a great surprise at Sox Fest!!
  6. Strange that the Akron paper would be the only one to report this. Let's hope it is true. http://www.ohio.com/mld/beaconjournal/sports/7494647.htm
  7. actually I read the Mulder & Tejda rumor in Roger's article in the Sunday Trib too.
  8. This is a followup from a message weeks ago. I am trying to locate a seat from the old park for a Christmas gift from a long time fan. Anyone willing to sell one or know where I can buy one. FYI the Sox dont sell them anymore even though the have some left.
  9. I just tried the Sox and they said no go-- that they only auction them off now. Any one have one theey want to sell??
  10. I am trying to find a chair from old Comiskey for a a Christmas gift. Does anyone know where I can buy one?-- I know I misspelled it in the title
  11. I am not saying this will happen-- but I was told this by someone very involoved in MLB. Not a waiter or a mechanic.
  12. Take this for what its worth-- a rumor, albeit a rumor from a person involved in major league baseball. All along, the papers have reported that there is one stealth candidate. Today I was told that Tom Kelly is in the mix. Seems unlikely, but you never know.
  13. I live in Oak Lawn which is a huge White Sox area(southwest burb) and I have to tell you I just got the biggest laugh many (more than 5) bought and are flying the Cubs "L" flag in front of their houses. It is a beautiful thing!!
  14. This is not possible, MLB added a new rule making trades for managers illegal after the Winn- Pinella trade. Everyone can breathe now.
  15. There is a poll on the wtmx(mix) web site: Which team will make it to the playoffs? Sox or Cubs? Sox are winning at 39% now. Lets running up the total. Especially since their morning show talks only about the Cubs. LINK
  16. Why isn't this thread being used anymore?? Oh that's right , 3 days later the Sox are in first place. Sox Fans , we better quit being so fair-weathered. Go Sox!!
  17. I was just looking on the Sox web site for tickets for Monday and the best I could get is 527 towards the top. With such an advanced sale and huge walkup, the game should sell out. And we shouldn't stop there. Lets get 35,000+ all next week. That will show the ownership and team, the fans are behind them.
  18. I was thinking the same thing. He had 1 bad trade-- give him a break. He got marte for nothing; Colon was a great deal and now Alomar and Everett. Also didnt he also do the Olivo trade. He has guts which Schuler didn't. Good job Kenny!! What a day-- and the Cubs lose and Lowell isn't coming to them. Could the Sox take over this town soon??
