    Music Suggestions

QUOTE(Nokona @ May 18, 2005 -> 12:01 AM) As of late Boys Night Out Head Automatica Mae "The End" The Doors. My girlfriend is a big Mae fan...if you like Mae, check out Armor for Sleep, they have a similar sound. I'm surprised there have been no mention of The Shins...I think they are a little too mellow, but New Slang is a song I can't help but love

    Music Suggestions

I'm bored...why not? At my dad's suggestion I downloaded the song "Return of the Native" by Fever Tree. It is pretty awesome. I've been listening to a lot of Piebald, Jimmy Eat World, and Ben Folds lately. Top 10 songs on my play list right now: Ben Folds: Army Ben Folds Five: Brick Ben Folds: There's Always someone cooler than you Jimmy Eat World: Sweetness Jimmy Eat World: Get it Faster Piebald: Fear and Loathing on Cape Cod Piebald: Fat and Skinny Asses The Mars Volta: Wasting my Air The Strokes: Reptilia Louis XIV: Finding out True Love is blind Not much new stuff, but mostly songs that I am getting into again
  3. Every dark cloud has a silver lining... American flag sales have never been better in the region and the match industry is booming...and who said the match stick business would never recover in the middle east.
  4. Meeting someone who has just gotten into baseball is pretty exciting. I have only been to the UK once, but I loved it and hope to return many times. Nice call on avoiding the Yankees! Sometimes Manchester United has their games televised on the YES Network (the yankees television station), so screw manchester!
  5. I can't blame Yofu and Toca...if I'm 30 and pretty much out of chances, I would consider doing steroids too. However that doesn't make it right...I hope they enjoy their break.

    Heartbreaking story

QUOTE(MinnesotaSoxFan @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) dang..thats very sad news... i myself was planning on being buried with my sox hat on. Aren't you still in high school... They say plan early just in case When my mom died we placed family pictures to be buried with her. My grandpa was buried with his tennis rackets. Kind of a cool little tradition for people to be buried with things and such. Well, my thoughts go out to the family of that poor kid.
  7. QUOTE(1549 @ May 9, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Its a possibility, but personally if a gun is put to my head I put my money on the A.L. East. Ya figure out of Baltimore-NY-Boston, 2 out of the 3 are good for 90 wins. I could easily see us or the twins slipping to 85ish. Living in the New York metro area, I love watching the Yankees struggle...but I still feel its just a matter of time. Their rotation is going to be ok. The only serious problem is that WEAK bullpen of theirs.
  8. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 9, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) I don't count on the Twins being eliminated from playoff contention. I personally figure that the Wild Card will come out of the AL Central this year. Its a possibility, but personally if a gun is put to my head I put my money on the A.L. East. Ya figure out of Baltimore-NY-Boston, 2 out of the 3 are good for 90 wins. I could easily see us or the twins slipping to 85ish. Living in the New York metro area, I love watching them struggle...but I still feel its just a matter of time. Their rotation is going to be ok. The only serious problem is that WEAK bullpen of theirs.
  9. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 2, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) LOL, and CRector? Or whatever his name was? Where's the "Decline and Fall of Mark Buehrle" thread when ya need it... Now that you mention it...I'm still pissed Buehrle couldn't hold a lead in that oakland game :headshake :banghead
  10. I'll admit being very down on Garland. As a former hater I owe Jon a congrats for making me eat my words...and I gladly do so.
  11. Haha...ok I have to admit, I was wrong about the pale thing...the image must have gotten distorted in my mind when I was writing that. Boney...yea, I'm gonna stick to that, but not terribly boney or anything. She looks pretty bad in the Coyote Ugly screen shots. Sort of a big foreheaed, but again not overwhelmingly so. She is more attractive than I made her out to be. But in a lot of those pictures, she is still lacking IMO. I don't know, everyone's tastes are different, so it is hard to argue whether or not someone is upper echelon in hotness.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 2, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) Im surprised that he got caught, but I am very interested to see what happens to him after. I wonder if we will see any drop off in performance. No Derrick Turnbow got caught on 'roids by the IOC not long ago, and his stuff didn't regress from what I read. Like I said previously, I think they use them for stamina and recovery not power, as hitters do. (though they say every 10 pounds a pitcher adds to their bench max adds 1 mph to their fastball) It seems to me being ripped could harm a pitchers delivery.
  13. I'd imagine steroids for pitchers would be more for recovery purposes not so much on the field performance. So with or without 'roids Rincon is a solid reliever...but without the 'roids will his body break down under the stress of a reliever's schedule after it has relied on steroids to recover from day to day?
  14. QUOTE(CubKilla @ May 2, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) Who's the dancing girl in the pink panties? Great abs!!!! Meh, flat stomachs without the abs are best IMO...I also don't like how you can see that she is boney. She needs to put on a little bit of weight or something. Ok this girl is like really hot, but I am finding so much wrong with her... 1) Her face is plain, and lacking intrigue 2) She is boney 3) She is whiter than a ghost 4) She can't dance but thinks she can 5) Obviously she is full of herself Nothing at all intriguing about her...now to stereotype models and such: she is probably dumb as a rock. Sorry I lowered myself to judging her without knowing her, but c'mon look at how she carries herself.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 2, 2005 -> 02:33 AM) No observations about your Serbian friend? Your sig rocks dude!
  16. I haven't been very consistent on the boards lately, but today was the last day of spring break, and my girl was in doing a project for a large portion of the day. I decided to spend the day relaxing and frequenting the boards. Some things I have observed: Gwerty: I decided the girl in your sig sucking on the lolly-pop has an ugly face. It's very plain and lacking any sort of intrigue. The other girl is sort of stick like. Abo: Nice avatar picture, tasteful yet sexy. (that sounded really gay) flippedoutpunk: I don't know if that is supposed to be you or not with all the hickeys in your avatar...but whoever it is, it looks like the person got hit in the neck with a baseball. That girl must have had a vacuum in her throat. Texsox: I like the pieces of Sox history in your sig, very nice. Chisoxygirl: I've always wondered who is in your avatar. Minny: If that is you in your avatar, is that one of those loose fitting fitted caps, or is it a 59/50...I couldn't tell. Haha well thats all I've got...I wish there was a Salma Hayak sig or avatar that I could have given props to.

    Prom Night

I still don't get who big chocolate is... Was your date a large black girl? A large black lab? A girl with a large ass? I believe the whole prom story except for the M.C. Hammer part... Cracka's don't dance like Hammer...'nuff said.

    Happy Easter!

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 1, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) Thanks.....I guess? Just an observation my serbian friend. Now I hope the Sox give you one more reason to celebrate today! My brother's gf is serbian orthodox, and she said drinking is a tradition in the serbian church on holidays and such...so
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 1, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Let's hope Ozzie doesnt throw out another bulls*** lineup because its the last game of the series... LF: Konerko 2B: Pierzynski DH: Podsednik 1B: Iguchi RF: Crede C: Rowand 3B: Dye SS: Everett CF: Uribe Didn't I hear that Ozuna is going to be used out of the pen today?

    Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! The great thing about Serbian people is you can call them 'Serbs'. It sounds degrading, but it isn't, so it is fun to say.
  21. The Sunday Matinee: Jon Garland: 4-0; 1.80 ERA; 30 IP; 11 K; .87 WHIP Wilfredo Ledezma: 1-1; 5.82 ERA; 17 IP; 9 K; 1.59 WHIP On Fire: Tadahito Iguchi: .333 BA; 9 RBI; .729 OPS; 3 SB's Nook Logan: .422 BA; 19 Hits; 1.025 OPS; 3 SB's Cold as Ice: Jermaine Dye: .175 BA; .205 OBP; 3 BB-16K Omar Infante: Last 7 days: 2-15; 1 RBI
  22. From what I've seen on Minorleaguebaseball.com he has been ok. High ERA, but good K to IP and stuff, and I think at this point that is more important. Everyone will have bad starts...as long as his stuff is good he'll get hitters out.
  23. 1549

    Jermaine Dye

Its too early to make any rash judgements of Dye. The man has proven himself to be a pretty decent hitter...he'll figure it out.
