Anybody else see Steve Lyons as his first base coach?

Cubs Expected to Hire Pinella
Just another victim.

"Juan"ted Uribe
If Uribe is as good of a shot as he is swinging at a curve, then he should get off easy.

1908 World Series Anniversary
Several Years ago somebody emailed me a list of things that have happened since the Cubs last won a World Series (ie two World Wars, 13 Presidents, number of teams added to MLB). Anybody know where to find an updated version of that list?

Torre's Job is Safe
QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 8, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) Steinbrenner would hire Billy Martin next if he was still alive. ROFL I miss Billy Martin.

I just lost a little respect for Detroit when the started playing "Whoomp there it is!" when the score rose to 6-0.

Just to fuel speculation, the rags in New York already have ARod being shipped here or Anaheim. Link

I can't believe I am pulling for the Tigers right now, but there is nothing I want to see more than disarray in the Bronx this off season.

Minnesota Twins Post Mortem Playoff Thread
Is that Minnesota radio station doing funeral services for the Twins as they did for the White Sox a few weeks back? On another note, has anybody heard from batgirl in the past few days? Her brand of nonsense has been silent.

Sorry Padre fans. I blame myself for giving them the kiss of death by rooting for them.

Well, at least Minnesota has the Vikings.

Tony Gwynn may be the greatest pure hitter I have seen in my lifetime. Since he is one of my favs doesn't hurt my feelings for the Padres either.

As of 1984 (circa Steve Garvey), I am a Padres fan too.

Rush not in R&R HoF??
QUOTE(BobDylan @ Oct 2, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) Rush cannot touch Bob Dylan in terms of ANYTHING. If you don't believe me, you're only in denial. Dylan didn't get where he got by luck. ANYBODY that disagrees with this deserves no respect.

That choking sound coming from Detroit is not an actual crime, it is the Tigers. If it is possible to choke and still make the playoffs, the Tigers did it.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Oct 1, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) You can pencil in atleast one victory for Santana. No way Oakland is defeating him twice at the dome when even one loss is a once-a-year occurence. I know that DH that Oakland has, can't of his name, #35, ... he won't be hitting Santana.

Let me be the first to congratulate the AL Central Champion Minnesota Twins. You guys waited until the division went on clearance and came with a fancy little bow on top. Good for you!
