GAME THREAD 5-17-06 SOX vs RAYS
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in 2006 Season in Review
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ May 17, 2006 -> 06:12 PM) scary to think we were nearly the St. Petersburg White Sox. That stadium is by far a bigger hole than the Metrodome. And that says something. -

Just after 6:00. How long til the first person starts the rally cry of Jon/Judy Garland Sucks? QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 17, 2006 -> 05:27 PM) Lineup: Podsednik, LF Iguchi, 2b Thome, DH Konerko, 1B Dye, RF Ozuna, 3B Mackowiak, CF Uribe, SS For the Rays Lugo, SS Crawford, LF Gomes, RF Huff, 3B Wiggington, 2B NORTON, DH Lee, 1b Paul, C Gathright, CF Man, I can make so many jokes about that D-Rays lineup. Remind their catcher to tag the runner if it's close, note that they have a Lee at 1b and bet how jealous the Cubs are....but hell, I think we'll get to hear Hawk say "Nawton" again, and that's enough for me. And yes, that is the same Nawton. Yet again, Garland pitches without the regular starting line-up. No Brian Anderson tonight, winning will be tough. -

QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:34 PM) The Astros just totally threw at Bonds. 3 straight pitches way up inside. My only disappointment in that is Bonds was not nailed in his steroid enlarged head 3 times. -

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) Dude, Pujols would look at Logan and make him wet his pants. But then his pants would be dried by the screaming line drive that rockets past him. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) As bad as TB's bullpen is, Montero and Logan wouldn't be on their roster. Yet they might find their way into the Cubs starting rotation -

At this point, they may as well let Gload pitch. -

I hope the Tigers "Interleague Rivalry" is tough. I think they play the D-Backs twice while we play that other Chicago team twice. -

... And why were we confident that we could win the games without Count in the rotation? -

Well now perhaps we can all get back to the business of harping on Uribe and Anderson's lack of a .300 average.

QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ May 15, 2006 -> 05:45 PM) I dont get this...why would the Twins an inner-division rival, trade one of their top players to a team in their own divison, and to the same team that perhaps poses the biggest threat to win the AL Central?? I just dont get threads like this.... That's exactly what I said on the previous page. This thread needs to be strickened from the record.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 15, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) If the pitch matchups still hold through. It will be Garland vs Zito in the first game. Cool. I am going to be there for the Monday game.

Why would the Twins been stupid enough to trade their star player to their greatest division rival. They wouldn't. Stupid questions deserve stupid answers.

Not to digress, but is Frank actually injured? (That was actually the point of this thread at one time). He has not been in the line up for a couple of days and I am hoping to see him at the Cell.

QUOTE(whitesoxin @ May 14, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) Hey everyone, I was just wondering...who has the best record in the the Major Leagues right now? OH YEAH, WE DO! It's the top of the 2nd inning and we are hitting the s*** out of Silva. Step off of the ledge. In about 21 more outs, this will not be true.
-
CORPSEBALL It doesn't just apply to offense any more.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 12, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) Shocking Frank was taken to a hospital after the game and diagnosed with having sand in his vagina. The Big Skirt has been doing that s*** for 5 years now. f*** him. Everything good he did for the organization was more than cancelled out by his big mouth. If and when he ever makes the hall of fame I hope they send his sorry ass in an A's uniform. We dont want anything to do with him anymore. Nuke, while I normally like your posts, you are full of s*** here. Frank is and always will be and giant tool. However, he was the key to the 90's renaissance of this franchise. And aside from Shoeless Joe Jackson, the greatest player in franchise history. The only thing bad I would like to see happen to him would be for him to go permanently mute.
