I agree with this. I think this is why the Phillies and White Sox are actually in the position they are in right now. The traditional FA players are all near the luxury tax and don't want to go over....or at least appear they don't want to.

Definitely. And that is the only thing that Vassegh has right in his podcast nugget the other day. He isn't saying it is fact, it is something he heard from someone close to Machado. But Vassegh doesn't need to be such a dick about it.

Yeah I don't get it either. Both Parkins and Spiegel were being more than fair in their defense...they were definitely not grilling him. They were more asking him to clarify and when he said he didn't say that, they played the audio for him. Parkins and Spiegel were more confused than anything.

It was real bizarre. On top of it you had 2 Cub fan hosts defending the Sox. Apparently the guy just doesn't want it to come out that is what he is saying....even though he is the one that said it. Whatever man.

Yeah, I was listening live when they got him....the producers played the audio from the podcast and Parkins asked them to get him on the air....got him a few minutes later. He tried to clarify his stance, not very well though. Then he proceeded to crap all over the White Sox. Parkins and Spiegel didn't understand how his stance is different than what people were tweeting out. It was a weird interview.

Just listened to it....good to hear someone say something positive in our direction. I also agree with everyone's assertion that it was an ex-Dodger teammate. Based on his connections and the way he said it, that makes total sense to me.

This is pretty much what I have been wrestling with in my head since the Dodgers/Cubs rumors started up for Harper. I just don't see how Dodgers/Cubs will be able to come anywhere near what the Phils/White Sox will even after unloading. I think the Dodgers make way more sense to go after Kluber, but maybe that is just me.

Looks like I missed quite the show at the end of the other Manny thread...yeesh. Anyways, I agree Machado to Yankees is the most obvious choice and worst case possible for us. Like I said earlier if it is Yankees & Dodgers that get the 2 guys I won't be mad. If Phillies get 1 and we don't then we can blame Hahn for not doing enough the previous year. Just my opinion.

From what I have seen, he improved on defense when he went to the Dodgers. I think they positioned him differently. I believe I read this on The Athletic.
