Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 08:51 PM) Do you have Cintron bat for Uribe here? I do...but I would have started Cintron.

Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
Time for some Joe Clutch Crede time. But not with that swing.

Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
I don't know if anyone posted it but Tigers finally did something unclutch. Leadoff triple in the 9th and left him there.

Detroit Tigers World Series Thread
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) Zumaya was fortunate there were 2 strikes and Young had a shortened up swing, or that pitch might have ended up in the RF bleachers. Rodney in the 8th, Jones in the 9th.....hopefully Texas keeps it at 4 and figures out a way to get a couple runs. That is going to be tough...have to do it this inning. Heart of the order coming up.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) AJP's bat speed is slowing down again. I'm sure he'll get the day off tomorrow. He will...Buerhle is pitching. Sandy is catching him exclusively now I think.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) Our infield defense might be pretty bad if we have anybody besides PK at 1B. He saves so many badly thrown balls. Yes he does. He is pretty underrated defensively in my book. He doesn't have the range of a Derrek Lee but he scoops them with the best of them.

Yup it is no typo. I had the same choice as well...ALCS is the obvious choice.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 15, 2006 -> 01:23 AM) He beat Boston his last start. 4ER over 7IP iirc. Let's hope that's a case of the blind squirrel finding a nut. Or just a case of Boston really not playing well. They have looked flat of late and other than Ortiz and ManRam..no one else has done much. Sox should kick the crap out of Hernandez. I also will be there with about 800 of my closest friends...Evans Scholars in the house tonight.

Dye V Maggs
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) Personally, I'd take Magglio over Dye. Jermaine is only getting older, and quick. I just see Maggs outlasting him, if the Sox could trade Dye straight up for Ordonez, I'd do it. I usually agree with you, but not on this one. His contract is WAY too big to take on for a player that in this lineup would put up similiar numbers to Dye. While Dye is getting up there in age and his defensive range is not as good as most RFers..I think he has a spot in left if we can get rid of Pods.

8/14 @ 7:05 PM Game Thread
As everyone has already stated...3 out of 4 is a must here. I will be there Tuesday..back to back Vazquez games for me. Hopefully he pitches as well as he did versus the Yanks. The good thing is that Freddy misses the Royals..they rock him.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) That would be a horrid move IMO. The team would actually be worse off. Yes it would. Bruce is full of crap..there is no way the Sox would get Pierre, but Pods is probably a goner.

Proof that Umps hosed us in Yanks series
Last nights home plate ump was absolutely terrible. I was there..and while I couldn't tell how close the pitches were because I was sitting in the Upper Deck, the players responses to strikes being called was hilarious. No one knew what was going to be called a strike or a ball. The hitter didn't know, pitcher didn't know, the catcher didn't know and most importantly the umpire didn't know. That has to be the worst crew in MLB.

Top 3 web gems in White Sox history
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) If Derek Jeter made that diving catch into the stands like Uribe did, there would have been a Gatorade commercial revolving around the play already. So, so, so very true. It is sad really.

Trib's David Haugh: Cheering is bad
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) He then proceeded to say, "If Thome goes yard here, we have ourselves a 7-2 ballgame." He says that every time...what a tool.
