Another mediocre start by him in a big game, and I think it will be pretty obvious what he really is. Mussina has had a good year, but he can be had, and the White Sox do have a nice offense. This is a big game, the Sox don't want to fall to 1-3 on the homestand with the Tigers coming in. A win here, and a nice weekend could be the beginning of a nice streak. Is it after we find ourselves in a race with 3 other teams for 2 playoff spots? Or when we find ourselves in second place for the WC? Yeah, I'd say it's a must-win game. We've got the Tigers this weekend, who were beaten last night by the Twins. It'd be nice to have momentum against them. This is the definition of a must win game. When you don't win the games you're supposed to win, you wind up with more games you can't afford to lose. The Tigers don't have many Must-win games right now. It would be better to win than lose, but the Sox are not going to go 50-0 in their remaining 50 games. I know, this may come as a let down. But win 2 of 3 and you'll have won 4 straight three game series. I'll take that pace with a seven or eight game win streak mixed in.
