QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 07:45 PM) Isn't Mackowiak already playing in LF? Meanwhile, something new and unusual for Crede. I was figuring LF/DH would be rotated using Mack/Ozuna/Perez and maybe bring up Sweeney.- White Sox vs. Angels, 4/28/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 07:40 PM) Here's a question I'd like to see what people think about: if Thome misses 30 or so games due to injury, does anyone think we have a chance in this division?I would say yes if we sign Perez, and Hall comes back soon. Perez DHing and Hall catching vs LHP would be a huge upgrade. Mackowiak can fill in for Thome against RHP.- White Sox vs. Angels, 4/28/07 (L)
Woo hoo, a hit.- White Sox vs. Angels, 4/28/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 07:17 PM) Anyone know how much we've been outscored in the first inning of games this year? Including today, the Sox have been outscored 19 - 8 in the first inning.- White Sox vs. Angels, 4/28/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 07:17 PM) Anyone know how much we've been outscored in the first inning of games this year? I am guessing 55-8.- White Sox vs. Angels, 4/28/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) Oh dear.....great start yet again. Give me a f***ing break. I wonder how many hits we can allow with 2 strikes tonight. Is that the 3rd time this year we've allowed the first batter to homer? It doesn't really count when we play Sizemore so much. He seems to do it to us 2 time every series.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
QUOTE(Shadows @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 07:09 PM) Ugh Thanks Miami, you pass on Brady Quinn and get us a 26 year old Mormon Maybe they can put a retirement plan in his rookie contract People liked him, but I think Quinn would have been a better pick. However, they did get him in the 2nd round. I would be more pissed at picking Ginn so early. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) Essentially they Traded Thomas Jones for all those picks. The Bears have 10 picks left, so more than likely they will be moving up at some point.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
NFL NETWORK showed Olsen with a Bears hat on.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
QUOTE(Fotop @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 05:22 PM) Looks like "G-Reg" Olsen will drop to the bears...dont see NE, BAL or SD taking him Yeah - Watson, Heap, and that other guy from SD. Olsen is almost a lock unless the Bears move down.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 05:08 PM) Wow. That better end up being one hell of a pick.Actually based off the values, it is an even trade, except Dallas gets an impact player that will play against Philly. Kind of an odd move by Philly to trade within their division.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 04:25 PM) Browns gave up an extra 2nd round pick for a top 10 QB. Even if the Browns were in the top 10 next year they are still going to pay Quinn less at 22 than they would a top 10 QB next year, another bonus. Not to mention Quinn is almost a hometown guy there as well. If anyone was to do it, it makes sense for the Browns. Dallas still makes out really good.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 04:20 PM) I know next year's 1st rounder is part of it.Wow next years 1st rounder and this years 2nd rounder for the #22? If they are in the Top 10 next year, this will be a bad move.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
What did Cleveland give up to move up?- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 04:04 PM) And you know some odd names are going to be thrown in before some of these guys. The Bears should be able to get a great pick. Yep, they are almost guaranteed two great picks at 31 and 37 now.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
11 picks until the Bears, some names still on the board: Brady Quinn - QB Dwayne Bowe - WR Alan Branch - DT Greg Olsen - TE Robert Meachem - WR Joe Staley - OT Anthony Spencer - DE Ben Grubbs - OG Jon Beason - LB Paul Posluszny - LB- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
Wow they reached high for Brown. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:01 PM) you guys think quinn will go to the skins if they do not trade down? I doubt it.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
I would say Peterson or Landry, or trade down to pick Levi Brown around #10.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 11:43 AM) Browns are gonna regret this pick. Guess they are really banking on Frye this year. Quinn should be happy, Cleveland would be terrible for him. I hope he lands in Miami. I don't know how you would be happy losing guaranteed millions. Yeah playing on a good team is nice, but most great players start on a crappy team.- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
Brady Quinn's fall begins......- Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
I can't believe the Lions would draft another 1st Round WR after all those busts, even if he was the best of the bunch. Johnson is a gifted athlete, but the Lions sure could have used more picks compared to one impact player.- Buehrle: No longer a gone-slinger
Now I wonder who is going to budge on the contract. The Sox only give pitchers 3 year contracts, and Buehrle will more than likely be offered something between 4-6 years. That might be the biggest hurdle.- Gary Thorne says Bloody sock was fake
On ESPN Radio this morning they talked about it. They said Schilling's family brought it to Cooperstown weeks after the WS, which adds to the speculation. It doesn't really matter because the sock was more of a symbol than anything. The blood part just added to the lore. I bet it was paint that ended up on there inadvertently, then once they realized everyone thought it was blood, they just went with it.- Hunter hit in mouth by pitch
QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) What a hot head. Charging the mound. Remember when he got beaned a few years ago, I think it was by Bob Howry, and he thought it was intentional and threw the ball back at Howry. Now way it was intentional. Yeah, that was classic.- Hunter hit in mouth by pitch
