  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 12:19 PM) Sirius? Traitor Oh save it. I've had both for 2 years now. Jim broke me down and is getting a new Vette which has XM in it so we'll have both in both cars.
  3. IN bars. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060322/us_nm/bars_dc Wed Mar 22, 6:05 PM ET SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Reuters) - Texas has begun sending undercover agents into bars to arrest drinkers for being drunk, a spokeswoman for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission said on Wednesday. The first sting operation was conducted recently in a Dallas suburb where agents infiltrated 36 bars and arrested 30 people for public intoxication, said the commission's Carolyn Beck. Being in a bar does not exempt one from the state laws against public drunkenness, Beck said. The goal, she said, was to detain drunks before they leave a bar and go do something dangerous like drive a car. "We feel that the only way we're going to get at the drunk driving problem and the problem of people hurting each other while drunk is by crackdowns like this," she said. "There are a lot of dangerous and stupid things people do when they're intoxicated, other than get behind the wheel of a car," Beck said. "People walk out into traffic and get run over, people jump off of balconies trying to reach a swimming pool and miss." She said the sting operations would continue throughout the state.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 10:32 AM) Colon has grown alot too. Understatement, But that's my point. Jenks has the skill and somewhere under all that blubber, the muscle to get done what needs to get done. I'm way more worried about his head then I am his arm.
  5. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 10:17 AM) Yes it was. Thanks WHarris.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 10:17 AM) Get the weight off? Who the hell do you think you are talking about here? I guarantee you NO weight has to be shed or will be shed. When in his career has he been "in shape." Im sure it didnt effect his velocity then huh? He is building up his velocity and arm strength, its spring TRAINING for s*** sake. Of course he isnt throwing his hardest yet. Never. He's adapted. Just like Colon.
  7. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 10:14 AM) unfortunately me minding my own business doesn't edit your personal attacks which ruined a good thread.
  8. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) amazing the stuff "some" people get away with on this board. It's not at all amazing how some just s*** stir and can't mind their own business.
  9. Who was it.. Texas and the Giants..? 1997 right?
  10. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) All I can say is thank God it's fairly obvious that Jenks has never done steroids in his life. But I definately don't believe that the Ozzie, the Sox, or another other MLB team tell the truth 100% of the time. STOP FREAKING OUT!!!!
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 09:13 AM) I cant believe everyone is arguing about his conditioning and whatnot. The guy is a fat slob, he was last year, the year before, and the year before. s***, he was even an alcoholic slob at one point. This all never effected his veolocity. He is building up thorugh camp. They havent used him all that much, and when he has pitched, hes been working on different pitches. Almost every pitcher we have is throwing a little lighter, even Mark. Its like people have never seen spring training before. Short, sweet, and to the point.
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 09:02 AM) So in other words you are saying you can't ever believe anything that anybody on the team says. I understand how it works, but I think if Ozzie and the staff were truly concerned with the velocity they would say something. They are sitting there saying they are upset that he isn't throwing strikes now, why lie about one thing and not the other. I can understand being skeptical about what FO people in sports say, but there is just no reason not to believe them in this instance. If that makes me naive, which I don't think it does, so be it. I'm saying that it's their job to present the best picture possible. And stretch the truth to do so.
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 08:52 AM) 1. What reason do they have to lie? There is really no sense to lie about injuries in baseball. The proof is in the pudding and there is no gameplanning. LMAO.. I'm sorry. But I just find your defense of their comments completely asinine and naive. But.. ya got spunk so that's a plus I guess.
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 08:29 AM) Good point..... And were you there early in the spring or middle of the spring? That would tell a lot about where his velocity was at the time. And you didn't really answer any of my questions for that matter. I was there 3/8 to 3/15. Ask some questions rather then attempting to argue over news articles and I'll give you some responses.
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 08:44 AM) How come you won't discuss the situations. YOu just keep putting up smilies in the place of substance. Were you there at the beginning or end of spring? I know people in the business aren't all that reliable/honest but almost everywhere we have seen that Jenks is hitting 94 consistently except for the Rocky Mountain news, whose story was debunked, and a couple of people on this message board. So who would you advise we go with? What's the point of discussing it? You have one opinion, others have another. And all you seem to want to do is argue like a f***ing 2 year old. STFU and move on.
  16. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 08:39 AM) Guillen doesn't lie? And you know this how? Who is he... Mother Teresa? I remember Ozzie saying during the offseason before Marte was traded that the Sox were going to count on him as our second lefty out of the bullpen. Do you really think that Ozzie didn't know that Marte was going to be traded? He probably lied about it to up Marte's trade value a bit. Seriously... what's the point? :banghead :banghead :banghead
  17. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 08:23 AM) What reason do they have to lie? People will know come opening day. And it could have been 92 when you were there. Was it early in the spring? And a scout from another team isn't spouting the company line. I love this place..
  18. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 08:18 AM) Both Dick Allen and Art Kusnyer are to be believed. Jenks could have been hitting 94 MPH in his other outings but he may not have been hitting 94 MPH at the game Dick Allen went to. I don't see the need to call him out. He didn't break 92 the 2 games I saw him pitch in. Your stupid if you believe everything that comes from the company men. These are the same folks that said that Hermy was fine... :rolly
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 23, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) But Jphat told me that Jenks wasn't fat....he just came in with more muscle, and that no one should be worried about him? No way jose!! He's a big fat beast. And he sweats like a spring rainy day.
  20. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Mar 23, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) should have called out the fat boy's conditioning a month ago -- and done something about it. He did make comments about his bad habits. Old news..
