QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 09:10 AM) The embryo has it's entire life ahead of it, where as the other's is in most cases winding down. That was point. That's what I was afraid of.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 09:00 AM) Of course that's not what I was trying to say. Take it in the context of the quote I was responding to. If you take that into consideration, you should be able to understand why I responded the way I did. Perhaps you need to re-read the quote you were referring to... CW stated that the person on the respirator has their whole life to loose... where as the embryo has not had a life yet. Then you come back with... " The person on the respirator in most cases doesn't have much of a life left to lose. The embryo is at the very beginning of life and therefore has much more to lose." The embryo has more to loose..? Like what...? Friends, family, kids, memories....

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 08:47 AM) Angelina Jolie? I like this game. Got any more? Was I right? Yep. and yep.

Dr Sloan in Oakbrook is a name I have heard many times. Apparently he does it without any blades at all. Quicker recovery I guess.

QUOTE(TornLabrum @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) All that means is that hypothetically you get unlimited pop instead of unlimited beer. Not hypothetically. That's exactly what it means. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.

Thomas takes high road in response to Williams

QUOTE(PaulyK14 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 06:47 AM) Maybe Frank should just shut up, the guy has always stuck his foot in his mouth and still he never learns , my opinion the White Sox should have cut him loose during a road trip just like they did to Carlton Fisk who was/is ten times the ballplayer Frank will ever be, but no the White Sox let him hang through the playoffs & World Series even letting his sorry ass throw out a 1st pitch. Frank Thomas has never been grateful to the fans of the White Sox while all the fans did was stick by him all those years , refusing to play because he had a tantrum, never even trying to make himself a better first baseman because it was easy to just listen to his critics about his fielding and throwing abilities so he just settles for DH, and now of course Jerry reinsdorf and Ken Williams screw Frank. Come on Frank has always been about Frank and the best three things that happened to the White Sox last year were letting Magglio go, trading Carlos Lee and Frank Thomas getting hurt thats when the White Sox became a team and had one purpose to win a World Series I don't think Frank could ever care about that unless he was the star he never could be just a team player. This is your brain on drugs folks. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 05:28 AM) I apologize, but it is also a bit realistic. What's realistic...? That most people on respirators have lived enough so it's ok to take them off..? Is there a stat on that? And have you lived enough? Are you OK with being taken off one because you "don't have much life left to lose"?
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 05:01 AM) Which is why I threw the words "in most cases" into my sentence. I'm gonna guess that "most" folks on respirators are not done living their lives, nor are their loved ones ready to let them go. The comment seemed a bit insensitive.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 04:47 AM) Now this makes no sense. The person on the respirator in most cases doesn't have much of a life left to lose. The embryo is at the very beginning of life and therefore has much more to lose. Jim's mom, and the rest of the family, would disagree with you there. Exceptions to every rule.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) Who exactly are these people that have 'defended what Frank has said' (besides White Sox Josh, of course)? I've said multiple times that Frank shouldn't have said what he said. Same goes for Steff. Same goes for Greasy. Same goes for witesoxfan. Same goes for J4Life. Same goes for Jackie Hayes. *crickets* -

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) So now that he didn't respond, he's the good guy? Did we forget who started this? Both KW and Frank took shots. To say Frank is suddenly the good guy is ridiculous. Who is saying this...? -

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 05:09 PM) What I would like to know is how people can defend anything Frank has said over the past month and then just totally say KW was wrong in everything he said. Who the hell is defending him but Josh.. and does he even count...? Frank should have STFU. That much is agreed upon. Who's saying he was right..? -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) "I never got a chance to ask those questions [before]," Konerko said. "I've never really had a guy that I could look up to on my team that you know I could gain a lot of knowledge hitting-wise. "We have a great coaching staff, hitting-wise, with Greg Walker and Harold Baines. There are a lot of guys who have been great hitters and been in big games. But there aren't too many hitters I've been around who have been older and who I've seen eye-to-eye with." Paul Konerko hangs out with Albert.. that right there shows you how screwed up he is. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:49 PM) That's one person. I'm sure there are mixed feelings on Frank as a person, and even Paul in a recent article kind of took a little jab at Frank. Oye... don't get me started. :rolly -

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) You know what's funny... Nearly everyone threw Maggs under the bust last offseason. I sure did. Backed up and ran over his sorry butt again, too. But I stood and cheered him when he took the field at the cell. "Thanks for what you did while you were here". -

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) Look below Willie. Thanks greasy. It's the shots that surprise me. I guess it's because I'm old and don't relate to this stuff too well. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:27 PM) The point being, Jordan said some people are in the kenny can't do no wrong camp because of what he did this year, it goes both ways, some people are fans of the team just cause of Frank and have him in the can't do no wrong camp as well. It's a two way street. There's only one moron that's saying that. Please don't lump the rest of us in on that crazy train. -

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) The thing is, you are getting mad about this and we are just sitting here calm and collected. Obviously Frank Thomas is such an achilles heel for some White Sox fans that they can't discuss him in a cordial matter. I'm not mad at all. Confused. I don't ever expect to see or hear fellow fans such and you two acting anything but respectful towards what someone has done regardless of the bulls***. The guy was the Sox for 13 years. He should be thanked for that and that alone. -

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) By the same token, we can say that we know how people feel about Frank. For the record, i have never hated frank through the years. I thought it was sad how he had to leave, but that's business...but after this offseason, the tune has changed, sorry. Ok.. so you just came into the thread supporting him to talk s***...? Wow. Things sure have changed. -

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) The thing is, anytime someone puts up an argument with some meat behind it that people don't like, they automatically attack the poster and say they are wrong, etc. I think everyone has brought up valid arguments. What is your argument why people should not cheer him...? I haven't seen that one yet. Just the 15 or so of you saying he's a (sic) cry baby, whiner, complainer, etc, etc... -

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:19 PM) We're actually making valid points, not sitting here saying "frank sucks." That's a better argument that what most people are putting up here, which is "he hit the ball well in the mid 90's" Was I speaking to you..?
