  1. Grampa just called.. Joey IS strong enough for surgery and they are preping him immediately. Should take about 3 hours. This is GREAT news as just 8 hours ago he was NOT strong enough.
  2. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) COA? Should have been COLA. Cost of living adjustment.
  3. The COA of NO is roughly 14% less then in Chicago, and the pay scale just under 10%.. anyone know the starting pay of Chicago's finest..??
  4. Just got back from the hospital and the news is positive.. His oxygen levels have improved and they think enough to move forward with the surgery which is a good thing to get the intestines off the lung so it can (hopefully ) start working at it's full capacity. The are just waiting on the results of the echocardiogram (sp?) and then will make a decision. Thank you, again, for all the well wishes and prayers. And he's another picture of my little grandson..
  5. Everyone.. I'm proud to introduce you to Joseph Andrew.. I'm leaving to go back to see him and get an update. Thank you again (I can't say that enough) for all your thoughts and kind words.
  6. It turns out now that they can't do surgery immediately because his blood is not oxygenated enough which is a result of his lungs being restricted by the hernia. His intestines are literally strangling his lungs. I don't know what happens now.... he is stable on a respirator and medicated comfortably. Wait and see I guess. Thank you again everyone.
  7. It turns out that he was born with a diaphoretic hernia (sp?) which is a condition that forced her to lose her first pregnancy. He is being rushed to UC (not UIC as I initially was told - and from what I have been told is better suited) for emergency surgery. Thank you guys for the thoughts, prayers, and emails.
  8. Please bear with me.. Jim's daughter delivered a baby boy, Joesph Andrew, sometime around noon today. Unfortunately he was born with his cord wrapped around his neck twice, tightly, and was not breathing. The medical team was able to resuscitate him however he has yet to breathe unassisted. Apparently he is going to require some sort of surgery and is being transferred to UIC as I type this. If you all wouldn't mind, could you maybe think a little thought, or say a little prayer for him. Thank you..

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) I hardly use ebay, but the last time I did I left the seller negative feedback and she totally freaked out. Email after frickin email about her stupid feedback rating. Emails like "i'll get you". It was kinda funny. If you don't mind saying.. what happened that you left negative feedback?

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) Contacting them is one thing, hounding them is another. Yea.. 4 emails since it ended. First.. Hey.. mailing your item tomorrow, don't forget to leave feedback. #2 - yesterday - mailed your item, dont forget to leave feedback. #3.. just wondering if you're getting my emails.. you didn't leave feedback yet.. #4.. are you going to leave feedback? And FYI.. feedback is totally voluntary. You don't have to leave it.

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) As a buyer I leave feedback as soon as I get the item. That's my MO as well.

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) Report his ass to Ebay, that's in violation of their TOS. Eh.. I don't really want to start s***. Just curious what other users do.

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) that is exactly why I wait to leave feedback. Even if it means no feedback at all gets left, so be it. Ditto. And I doubt I would ever leave negative feedback. I've had reasons to (nothing major).. but sometimes it's just better to say nothing at all.

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) I always wait for the seller to leave feedback first if I am the buyer. If I am the seller I check and make sure that the buyer recieved everything OK first, and then I leave feedback. As a seller I always leave feedback first... I bought something and didn't get it yet (just ended Sunday night and I paid immediately) and the seller is hounding me to leave feedback..

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) As a seller, I usually wait for the person to receive the item and leave their feedback saying they got it and are satisfied with it. Then you know the transaction is complete. Hmm.. I was thinking praise to fast payment, etc, would come first.

    eBay feedback...

Protocol on leaving feedback.. Seller first when payment is made.. or buyer first when item is received?

    Dear Life,

Wow Cerb.. I know it's a cliche.. but at least you weren't seriously injured. Hopefully the driver (or their parents) have good insurance. Be sure to keep track of any pain in your hand. If there is serious injury, or permanent, you'll need a record of it.

    PET OWNERS! HELP!

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) Sorry for the gross picture but it's what I found. IMO, the paw is not much bigger than the leg and any kind of "braclet" would have to be awful tight to stay on. What a horrible picture.. Poor puppy.
  19. QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) "AHEM....do the GOLDEN ARCHES mean anything to you, SIR?????" Post of the YEAR!!!

    PET OWNERS! HELP!

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) Based on absolutely nothing with no room for any dicussion. Narrowminded. Now it's the end. I gave my reasons why it is unrealistic for MY pets. Narrowminded, and ignorant.. yes, you have been.

    PET OWNERS! HELP!

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) Because it is not unrealistic and I have given information as how it is realistic. It is a discussion and in a way a debate. If you are saying it is unrealistic then I should have a chance to show you how it IS realistic. I have done so. Your side is not always right Steff. You seem to always have an issue with that. :headshake It's a opinion... it's right for me. The end.

    PET OWNERS! HELP!

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) I honestly don't think it is. You usually have better comments than this. I never once s*** on anyone elses opinion if you are referring to me with that comment. I s*** on yours as much as you have s*** on mine. If you want to go back and check out the thread and point out to me where I did anymore than you did then please do. I never called you a name, especially not a wacko. That much is for sure. It's my opinion, and others as well aparently, that it's unrealistic. Why can't you just leave it at that...? Damn. :banghead

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) Do you not have your thinking cap on yet? Oh.. my thinking cap is on. So is my common sense cap, logic cap, experience cap, and don't s*** on others opinions cap.
