QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 09:21 AM) I didn't follow this trial real close...but everything I heard really showed some credibility issues and a lack of hard evidence against Jackson. He certainly seems to be up to something, but so far he's getting away with it. ANd the next parent to let their kid hang out with Jackson, needs to go on trial for child abuse. Credibility killed them.. and it's a shame. I read a lot of the transcripts and the entered evidence.. IMO they had enough to fry him if not for the boys mom's issue with JC Penny. Agree with your last line completely.

  6. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 09:06 AM) But I think its now 'official' that she is converting...I was going to look up that thread...lazy this morning. It was official yesterday when Soxy posted the link. Check out the last post in that thread.
  7. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Just remember: It's always George Bush's fault. not the parents, for choosing other needs over food. Maybe forgoe that bigscreen tv and lose the $500 rims on the $1000 car and buy food. Eat the rottweiler, or however you spell that. Stop smoking. Quit buying junk food. Bulls***. they aren't looking hard enough. Jewel always has fruit on sale real cheap. Aldi's has canned veggies extremely cheap. Meijer just had canned veggies 3 for $1 a few weeks back. Not everyone who can't afford food has a big screen, or rims, or even a car.. Jewel is faaaaarrr from cheap for someone on stamps. I don't know about Aldi's, but I do know that Meijer's are not exactly located in area's where poverty of this level is the norm.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 08:41 AM) The more I hear about the alleged victim's mom and her impression on the jury, it really doesn't surprise me that they reached that decision. That juror complaining about the mother snapping her fingers just baffles me... good grief. "She snapped her fingers at us so her son was not molested.." :headshake

QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) There were ten counts. If there was real thought about guilt, he would have at least got a misdemeanor for alcohol. He is innocent. Told ya so. There were 14 actually.. and the alcohol charge was attached to intent to molest. If they convicted him on giving him alcohol they would have had to convict him on the other molestation charges. The way he was charged was all wrong... they should have been separate counts. He's guilty.
  11. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 07:18 AM) What is most troubling is that at the same time the government is making it easier for big busines to default on their promises in bankruptcy scenarios, they are making it much harder for individuals to seek bankruptcy protection. This will be an incredibly painful irony for all the individuals whose retirement savings are wiped out by irresponsible big businesses that are given a free pass when the restrictions are tightened up and the individuals can't file for protection. Why the country is not up in arms about this double standard I can't even fathom. I would guess those that would be up in arms about it most are the ones that are on the brink of financial ruins and have to file BK.. I just wonder if they have any more fight left in them. I can't even imagine.. it must be devistating.
  12. 60% chance not until 9pm.. it's gotta come past Plainfield and my mom said it's still 89, sunny, and not a cloud in the sky yet. We'll be OK.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) From what I understand about the Blake trial, the prosecution did an absolutely horrible job. They put a guy on trial that had absolutely positively zero forensic evidence on his person. The gun didn't match the casings and there was no gp residue. And at the range she was shot the killer would have been covered with blood.. Kind of like the Peterson case but reverse.
  14. I'm leaving work at 1ish and having lunch at Jimbo's. Then I'm going over to the lot at 5. I'll have a cooler of Lite and some snacks. I think I am driving the jeep..

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) Oj, MJ, Robert Blake............not guilty..........rich famous........and in California they call it justice They would have gotten Blake on conspiracy.. he didn't pull the trigger.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) A litigous mother with a troubling past is apparently more compeling than a former pop star who's admitted to sleeping with little boys and handing out "jesus juice." How the hell was Peterson every guilty in this state? And given the DEATH PENALTY with LESS evidence!!! :headshake :banghead

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Just out of curiosity, how many of you were jurors before? If you were, how many were on molestation cases? I was on one about a month or two ago. It's not fun and no matter how you decide you agonize over it - I still do. Mer, never. And I never could because of what happened to my girlfriend.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) Now MJ can go back to molesting little kids. I'm sure he's happy. Sadly... he wont stop and even more sad.. parents will continue to let their little boys sleep with him. Someday maybe he'll get caught and not buy his way out of it.
