What's a nub..?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) What makes you think he'll be back this year? I think he'll be back.. I think they are being overly cautious.

We always park on that stretch of road by a school (I think the street name is Seminary?) There's 40 or so spots that you don't need a permit for. Or we use a friends permit, or a parking pass. I hate parking over there.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) Rooney and Farmer eat in the booth. They don't leave the booth to go eat. I'd imagine the same holds true for Hawk and DJ. What he said.

QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) This happens in almost all baseball broadcasts. For one inning, or atleast half an inning in every game.... DJ takes over the play by play from Hawk, Farmer takes over for Rooney, Andy Mazur takes over for Pat Hughes on Cubs Radio (because Santo can't do a thing), etc. This is a normal occurence in baseball broadcasts. If you listen to the Sox radio broadcasts very much, alot of times after Rooney comes back from his break Farmer will ask him what he had to eat, etc. Their food is brought to them

Condolences to you Tex... Remember the good times..

He could have easily sold out a bigger place IMO. There were a ton of people trying to by tickets from those in line. We got approached at least 15 times with offers of $100 a ticket (face was $35). I went to the Metro looooooong ago. I liked it there also. We stopped in a bar on the way out to use the bathroom and ended up staying till midnite.. oye ve.. those Cub fans are weird o's.. totally wasted and laughing about having to work the next morning.. I wonder how they keep their jobs.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 08:20 AM) I went to Cancun once. I was on the tarmac at the airport on a HOT HOT day. Got on the tourist bus to go to the resort. They had a cooler full of Dos Equis on ice. I've been a fan of Dos Equis ever since. That one particular beer was one of the best beers I've ever had. Jim helped drink the keg of that stuff dry in the hotel bar one night.. He swears it was delicious.. I did not drink one beer other than the Lite we bought there. -
So last night was the Rob Thomas show at the Vic.. I was concerned when we got there at 5:45 and there was a line a mile long down the street.. almost to the point of eating the ticket cost and going home.. but alas.. we parked and got in line.. walked in.. right up the balcony... and sat in the 5th row. Not bad at all. Then they put some folding chairs in front of the seats and we moved down to the first row in the balcony. I wasn't real sure if I was going to like it there.. I was really freaked out by the smoking in the seats, but happy too see the waitress . Some very angry bi-sexual woman was his opening act. I didn't know any of her music.. it was mostly man bashing. She swore she was in "recovery" but she had the shakes so bad I am Mother Theresa if she wasn't on something.. Anyway.. Rob finally came out.. and I was amazed at the sound in that place. Jim and I agreed it was easily the best concert we've ever "heard". Loved the intimate setting. Very glad I didn't bother with trying to get downstairs. That first row of the balcony can't be more than 100 feet from the stage.. We're going to keep an eye on who's playing there as we want to see more shows there. So you guys that told me it was a good place to see a show were right.. thanks!!

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) HA HA! Hysterical! I don't believe anyone here is talking about 1 pitch. I think those that don't like this act are talking about the consistency of it. It is not just one fan for one pitch, but a growing amount of fans who think this is ok. This makes it go from being 1 pitch missed to 90% of the pitches missed. Thank you for adding your wonderful insight though. Good grief.. that font couldn't be any more green. -

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) In Angel & Dodger Stadium - it is ILLEGAL to smoke while in the seats (Yay California!). I have the same problem with people who outside at restaurants (just because it's outside doesn't make it less illegal, or wrong). It's not allowed at Comiskey either. -
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) They werent trying to get rid of the cancer in the clubhouse, they were trying to instill hope in their fan base, dont read the tribune so much. I never said the curses are his fault, but it does seem kinda ironic that there was a long drought, they trade him to another contender, then the team gells and pulls of a WS title. The team he goes to, chokes and doesnt make the playoffs. As far as roids go, his tremendous drop-off and his tendon-related injuries. Very interesting comment regarding the roids... And I agree that Boston completely gelled when he left. Nomar and "attitude problem" has been stated many times.

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) As I said Steff, please call it as you see it, it's one of the things you do best and that is why I like you. We have different definitions of b****ing, that is fine by me. I can without hesitation tell you my intent is to comment on realities as I've experienced them, try to impart some of the knowledge I've gained over my lifetime, and point out the oppposite side of a viewpoint that I feel is, in some ways, stemming from an entitlement mentality. I clearly saw you agreed with me on the chair kicking, I also clearly see you do not agree with me on the walking in and out of aisles and/or the kid thing. So be it. You missed one or two prior to the chair kicking... :rolly You're turn.. :finger -

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) You made it clear that if it was that bad I would have posted much sooner. Yes, to me that is telling me when to post, because to you I waited too long to post. One thing is for sure.. if I ever need to find a needle in a haystack... I am so calling you SSI.
