QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 08:30 AM) Let me tell you a little story. When my boys were 3 and 4 years old, I had a shotgun. It was laying flat on the back of the upper shelf of my bedroom closet, in a gun case and with a trigger lock attached. Those little s***s had somehow gotten that gun out of the closet and pulled it out of the gun case. The gun wasn't loaded, of course but still they got to the damn thing. I immediately took the gun to my father's. Cause you are a smart, responsible parent..

He was taken into custody last night.. She called me about 9 and we talked until the wee hours of the morning.. I am just speechless about all of this. I've never been touched by anything like this.. nothing even close. I could never before imagine what something like this might do to a person.. a family.. a community. It's all just so sad. I just don't understand. I struggle with that now.. Friends, strangers, teenagers, parents, those I interact with off this board.. and even those of you that think I am a total b****... I said a little prayer for all of you and anyone and everyone in your lives last night.. a prayer that none of you will ever have to encounter the evil that has touched my friend and her families life. Thanks for letting me vent about this here.. And thank you to all of you that have emailed, PM'd, and posted well wishes and support.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) I hate season ticket holders and people that go to 50 or 60 games a year. Will you people please stay home and watch on TV like the rest of us real Sox fans? How's that for an out of towner b****ing about attendance?

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) You and Steff like to trot out the "how many games do YOU go to" line, fine and dandy, that's your right. I am merely pointing out the other side, the same side you and I were both on when we were young kids and didn't have two nickels to rub together. I once didn't have 2 nickels to rub together so I know what that's like.. however I don't agree that I am quick to call out "how many games do you go to" unless it's to people who DON'T go to the games. I know many here (some who have used our seats when we can't go.. and for free!!) are limited.. it's not them I b**** at. I see the other side clear.. and appreciate it.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) The one with the Sox tattoo right? I didn't see one.. OK.. I gotta get out of this thread. YOU, Jason, are going to get me into trouble..

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Oh pretty please Queen Bee...Remember I don't ouster people for free OMFG... I didn't know water could shoot that far out of a person's nose..

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) Ya, I remember Boyer saying that it would be for Fridays game. Also we need to get a tailgate set up for either that Friday or Saturday. What's this "we" s***...???

QUOTE(Gldfinger5 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) Anybody know if they are having it this year? 3 days ago.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) Reading that trash was the biggest waste of 30 seconds I ever hope to have. I did slightly chuckle at ""I knew they could do it," said Ford. "I mean, what are they? The Vatican or the Vati-can't?"

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) For whatever reason, it just seems like our bats go to sleep at Comerica - and it's not like we're facing stud pitchers. I swear we've never won a game there from what i can remember, lol. We won the last game of a 4 game set there last summer.. (remember.. when I saw that rap group up there.. ).

I thought the title read Mariah Carey...

QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) Hello darling, sorry we didn't hook up. Not a problem. Jim and the kids didn't want to go up anyway. Lord.. it was a beeee-uuu--teee-fulll night last night.

QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) Separate note don't you think Pods should have taken out maur on that tag up from third? You were right there, he tried to avoid maur inside of sliding into him cleats first. Hunter would have barreled our catcher. Just an observation. Absolutely. And Pods no doubt heard Jim's thoughts on it as well..

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) Who, Kuczinski? Have heard the same thing, witnessed the swearing and smoking. Sweica is a pretty serious diabetic. Yea Peggy.

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) Not to my knowledge, quickman is close to the situation and knows her. Big dust up with Drew Hayes, program director at the Score. Story corroborated by one of the producers over there, whom I have met several times. Gotcha. You know how the mill is.. everyone has slept with everyone else in this town at one time or another.

I heard from someone who golfed with her that she drinks, swears, and smokes like a sailor.

QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) I think Shingo's ineffectiveness along with Neil Cotts does hurt our pen because it will force Ozzie into matchups and create alot of bullpen use each game. If shingo was effective you wouldn't have threads of burning bullpens. The only guy that didn't get up yesterday in the pen was Cotts. everyone else either pitched or threw in the pen. Shingo comes in Ozzie will need a back up to throw in the pen. So in effect you need at least two closers each time shingo pitches. One on the mound and at least one throwing in the pen. This cannot last the whole year, it will indeed burn the pen out. Good morning sunshine... Agree completely with you here..

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) Some guys like horses, what can I say? She left the business due to all the bulls*** ... loves the White Sox. Bulls*** = affair with an athlete..??

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) Julie Sweica was good although she needed a wardrobe coach at times. She looks like a horse. edited to add.. Oops.. Wrong.. I'm thinking of Peggy K..

QUOTE(marsh @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:45 AM) In order to get maximum return on the all you can eat and drink service, I would suggest not sitting there for a burly-mon start. Pick a Contreras game and strap 'er down for a nice 3+ hour game. If mark is pitching the game will be over after a dog and beer.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:33 AM) Isn't the Pepsi deal for upper deck tickets only? I was at the game last night, and at the start there looked to be about 5000 in the stands. It got reasonably full, and the upper deck had a higher proportion than usual. Its still April. Even the Cubs have tickets available this time of year. Wait until school is out, and the weather can be count on. If the team is doing as well as it is now, it will be sold out. Yes, it's only for UD tickets.

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:27 AM) I know I don't want to belabor the attendance issue and I know it will improve once it gets closer to summer, but first place showdown vs. the Twins on half price night ..... not a good sign of things to come. But yet.. you did... :rolly

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:26 AM) Steff, do you happem to know if they've sold out the scout seats for any game so far this year? I'd assume Sox-Cubs is sold, any others?? I would guess yes for the Cubs since they offered them for single games. No idea on the others. Possibly the Yanks.. I would say very likely for Boston also. And now that I'm thinking about it.. I bet they sold most if not all of them for the LA series.
